Monks have some pretty nice items to obtain and give up, I have mostly played casters, but for most quests its useless stuff... this is pretty nice. I would have to argue a low lvl shaman would get the most use from this, they tank the most of all these classes, at low levels anyways. I have one of these on my duid and it makes my hels go a bit further. I dont really like twinks but was thinking of making a monk, and was researching all the stuff, and maybe thought about getting him the items for the quests. its amazing how much of this stuff is NOT 'no drop'. maybe because its older I guess..... and i was looking at the pitfighters hand wraps too... :P and a few other items I have.

I really lucked out, finding this on an armory merchant in Felwithe. Funny thing is, "she" wanted to charge my druid 131P for it, so my Paladin bought it for me for 98P. My druid was fighting a willowisp (cons dark blue) and it was getting more hits on me than usual (I also forgot to check my mana before engaging - half gone, oops!); I was down to 2 bubbles of health and all of a sudden I had 3!

The helmet is overall silver with some light green accents and dark red edging. It looks like real armor, instead of a skin cap.

This is why I frequent all merchants on a regular basis; if you can't kill the creatures that drop these things yet, you can always hope a high level gets tired of the item so you can buy it!

Stargrace, Lvl 13 Druid Wood Elf (waiting impatiently for my 14th and 10 new spells - Bind & SOW, the only way to go!)

Now has a focus effect of:
Improved Healing I
RE: Focus Effect
# Jun 05 2002 at 8:11 PM Rating: Decent
What exactly will the focus effect, and or how does it work?

Also, will it increase the value?

Ok as near as I can tell It enhances the amount the healing spell does ie platinum armbands on a lvl 22 druid enhanced heal spell from 81 to 99. Also enhances bard heal song lvl 26 with coronet had heal go from 14 to 17. Hope this helps.

That's kinda funny...says its CLR DRU SHM only...
Curious to how bard got it to work?
RE: Focus Effect
# Jun 14 2002 at 12:23 AM Rating: Decent
That would be a bard with another item that has this same focus effect.

I got this last night after 3 hours of camping it.
1.The respawn time is approx 23 min. (it was just a hare over 23 min.)
2.The patriarch is the PH.
3.At 45 I was able to hold this camp very easily.
4.If possible try to bring a stunner. Half the mobs that spawn in the King Room either heal like mad or nuke like mad. Being a monk I fought with High Priest Zaharn until he was out of mana (he kept healing himself)
5. Make sure that on the upper level there are no priests because they will heal them as well, and it will just make you angry. I would just kill all the priests until regular ice goblins would spawn then leave them there.
6. Only 3 Mob Spawns Near the Rock. (facing the exit) Sage which is on the left side, Partiarch/Zaharn on the right side, and King Thex'Ka IV/Elite Guard on the front of the rock the rest of the spawns are on lower level but a little bit away from rock (but still within agro range)
7. Sage only nukes, he doesn't heal. Patriarch heals and nukes, King Thex heals and nukes, Zaharn Heals and nukes as well. The elite's donot heal nor nuke.
Hope this helps.

Got lucky with the coronet and Zaharn dropped it after I killed it just once. One advice, if you are able to kill the elite guards, please do so before killing either Patriarch or Zaharn. It's a pain when you have a few guards on when when either of them flee.

1). PlaceHolders are Goblin Patriarch and High Priest Zaharn. (Not 100% sure on that, but Zaharn wasn't around when Patriarch was.)
2). Location +700/-300 or #3 on PermaFrost Keep map on EQ Atlas.

Since I have yet to load SoL (tax refund will help upgrade computer...woo hoo)..

I just got this for my 13th level halfling druid. Paid 22pp...and after I read what this goes for, seems like I got a great deal. Anyways, this shows up as a chain coif on my druid. /em boggle. It's a crown...I wish it looked a little better than that. Oh well...guess I cannot complain too much for the price I paid.

The Reason it goes for so much, is because it's a quest item for the Monk Purple headband quest, which in turn is required for the Robe of the Lost Circle, The Robe of the Whistling Fists, and the Monk Epic eventually. You got a helmet there that any monk would kill for.

Isnt a Coronet a more brassy type of trumpet?
RE: Confused
# Nov 11 2001 at 10:52 AM Rating: Decent
A cornet is a horn that plays very much like a trumpet, but has a LESS brassy sound.

A coronet is a small crown, worn by someone of lower status than a king. An ideal headpiece for a goblin high priest, then.

Hmm
# May 25 2001 at 11:49 AM Rating: Decent
I really do like this. Looks kind of odd though...
Anyways, my 46th monk friend, was in Perma and he wanted some company. So I went in (deathwish in process) and kinda sat there trying not to get my butt whooped, when he came up and gave the Coronet to me. Thanks, Kinj.

# Aug 31 2001 at 10:28 AM Rating: Decent
Your monk friend gave it to you? This item involves a monk quest. If he didn't need the Coronet then why the heck was he camping in Permafrost?

big bang for the buck
# May 17 2001 at 6:31 PM Rating: Decent
For the money this item cant be beat. Better for priests than a runed circlet till level 30 or so (at level 30 runed circlet gives you 24 mana) and even then the coronet is better cause of the 5 str and one more ac (what is int to a shaman?)

wich is better
# Apr 14 2001 at 10:43 AM Rating: Decent
At lvl 30-35 what is better, 3 wis or +25 mana?
RE: wich is better
# Apr 24 2001 at 8:36 PM Rating: Excellent

At 30th lvl each point of wis is 6 points of mana. At 35, each point of wis is 7 points of mana. This is better than or equal to +3 wis till 42nd lvl.

Troy
great for low level clerics
# Feb 10 2001 at 10:59 PM Rating: Decent
this is nice to give to a lower level cleric. but for higher level clerics go for +wis eq.
