It's flagged for all classes that can wear leather (at least the classes that could wear leather at the time the item was added to the game) and all races that wear small only. It's probably a requirement of the game engine that they do it that way even if some of the races and classes don't go together.

There's many examples of what animekenji is talking about in the earlier content of the game. The devs were far more fixated on small/med/large races having to get different drops. This was abandoned and most of the time it has been by silk/leather/chain/plate divisions ever since. Much less programming, though at times far less interesting as well.

As far as this item goes, froglok monks now exist so they could use it. However, since they aren't unlocked until a way later era in the game (say on a progression server) it's unlikely it gets used.

Thats ok, I dont think those races can be a bard, ranger or Shaman either.... = )

Maybe one day, all the races can be all the classes....
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 11 2002 at 8:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Wrong humans can be bards and rangers. I know, because I have a level 5 human bard, and my friend has a level 42 human ranger.

#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 16 2001 at 11:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) HFL is halfling man, half elf is HLF
RE: classes
# Aug 15 2001 at 1:21 PM Rating: Default
Actually, Half Elf is HEF
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 26 2001 at 10:30 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Uh there are no Monks, Shaman, ShadowKhights and Bards in these classes. Something is wierd here.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 14 2001 at 8:14 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) To those that don't know about programing it looks like a *****-up, to those that do know it's just a "cut n paste" coding short-cut
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 26 2001 at 4:59 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey moron, you dont need to be a programmer to know what "cut n paste" is, its used everywhere, not just for programming. I dont care if the programmer was trying to use a short cut, this IS a *****-up.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 07 2001 at 3:47 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Actually what he means by "cut n paste" is the program uses a filter that assignes what class and race an item can by due to matching critiera. This item matches the Criteria to be worn by War, Clr, Pal, Rng, Shd, Dru, Mnk, Brd, Rog, Shm. Then it looks for the size of the item and lits the appropriate races Dwf, Hfl, Gnm. By codeing it this way it allows them to make items in a quarter of the time by only having to put in statistics and size instead of havning to hand code what race/class it can be for each and every item in the game. But if you feel the need to complain over such trivial facts be my guest. :)
COOL!!!!!!!!

Badass! i cant wait to see my gnomish monk wearing a plate hat.. oo oo how about my halfling bard! yeah! and my dwarvish shaman.... :\ you'd think they'd have this whole race/class thing figured out by now...

Heheh, I thought you were serious for a while there, but then I thought about it. How could they still be messing this stuff up?
RE: COOL!!!!!!!!

does this mean they also plan on makeing a beastlord for these races? i have had a dawrf before and i have a gnome currently... what beast would be a servent to them instead of eatting them is beyond me....
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 18 2001 at 7:30 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ROFL, yea, they should really check that before making the items. makes em look dumb. provides nice comic relief though *laughs at verant*
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 31 2001 at 11:59 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) When is the last time you saw a dwarf, gnome or halfling monk?Would be kinda funny to see the little guy's(or gal's)moves though =)
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 12 2001 at 1:26 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) haha.. shoulda read this post first, i just posted something similar to this heheh yeah i'd like to see a dwarf bard dance around while he boogied down on that horn :o
