Depending on your race, shestars scaled coif looks like black moose antlers(more than anything else) when equipped. From what ive seen and heard it is pretty decent head gear for new chars. I'm lvl 23 and I just got something new. But all in all shestar's scaled coif was prolly still better than what I've got now. I am just retarded like that.
And from what I remember I trained in blacksmithing(just a few practice points) and it took me several attempts to combine the unfinished with the scales, but a friend of mine didn't train, and well of course he got it on the first try.

Anyone have any idea what smithing skill you need to combine the unfinished Coif with the Loose scales?...i've tried a number of times and get a failed message.

Man, I don't think I seen 1 single message in this post about the Shestar's Scaled Coif. I'm glad I didn't really need any info on it like "what does it look like equipped"? How bout answering me that question and stop flaming each other for a change.

Giving good stuff to a newbie is fine. One of your characters giving to another of your characters is fine. What is NOT fine is people who go on Ebay and BUY stuff. I saw 10,000 plat going for $50. There were also some high-level items for sale. And there were actually people lined up to lay down their hard-earned RL cash. /boggle. This screws up the EQ economy and it sucks.
Amen. It's also a violation of the EULA, and can get you suspended or banned. They can even take legal action in extreme cases if they so choose.

bah.. all this debate on twinking... SO WHAT??? ya i have twinked chars... but u know what... how do u think they got twinked? let me tell you.. because my main (43 SK) worked his **** off to get to lvl 43.... earned every dang thing he has AND the stuff he's gotten for my twinks... ppl who stay at it long enough to legitly take a lvl 1 char to lvl 40+ or even less for that matter should be ablet o go get a few nice items for there newbie chars that they make to play around with without getting all this BS from ppl about it... sure its easy to get jeolous.. i know i do.. especially when i see a lvl 5 warrior running around in stuff my 43 SK STILL can't get... but u gotta stop and think.. (unless there one of those ebay freaks who pay lots of real money for game items) they more then likely have a char they started at lvl 1 with nothing (just like all u ppl b*tching about the twinks) and worked there lil buts off to get to high lvls so they could go get this stuff for there newbs... I guess all i'm saying is lay off... before u go overboard whining about all the twinks when ur still half naked just try and remember that most of these ppl have gone thru the same crap ur going thru and did the whole "grin & bear it" bit as they slowly worked there way thru it until they were high enough that they COULD go get nice stuff for there other chars... ya we have twinks.... but it took me personally near 6 months of HARD honest ingame work to get so i could have them... ok I've said my piece, I'll shut up now :)

what i think of twinking goes like this - should you have items and equipment that you don't need or wish to distribute, then its all fine and dandy. But if you're making your characters with the games best equipment out there, then there is no fun in even grouping. Why group at lvl 2 when you have the fighting power of someone in their mid-teens?
The whole point in Everquest in to grup and interact with others, thats why its a MMORPG! But if you had the power of someone at level 20 when you're hardly even level 3... hell, why group? Oh well, I've been twinked... I'm gonna get twinked again, and i'll twink others... but many twinks seem to lose sight of the struggle of fighitng an orc pawn or a scaled wolf pup and remembering crapping their pants when the pup and yourself had only 5% health left and whoever hit first would win, and you screen would be lined with misses from both sides... that is the fun of being non-twinked...
I know I probably made little to no sense but... that what I think on twinking... it helps you but ruins the game for your teamamtes, should you decide to team up... i remember the hardest thing about twinks is healing them because their HP is so high my spells would hardly do any good and they would get mad at me... oh well, twink at your own risk!!

Bah, this is rubbish. Just because you make one character up to 60 doesn't mean that you can give every other character you have a Darkwater helm, Wurmslayer, etc at lvl 1. Now, I'll be the first to say that when rerolling a char, you should be able to transfer equipment...but there is a limit. To me, seeing a level 1 char with banded is not twinking...seeing one with Enchanted Mitril Plate is. Where's the challenge? On my server (FV) this isn't such a big deal, but on PvP servers, sure I understand the complaints about twinks. As for those people who are 'whining about twinking'...what about all of you blithering about how justified you are? Hypocrits.
I agree with you Ariakass. My two highest characters have won the battles and I have the right to distribute my spoils anyway I see fit. I have even given something on occasion to a complete and total stranger who was discouraged by all the cool looking stuff that others were wearing and he had only tattered armor. It's the nice things that we the players do for each other that counts, not the whining about twinking.
