I never knew that this critter existed, and I have spent much time in the maze, either leveling or farming for clay and ore (and sometimes getting lucky with drops of silver and electrum bars).
Using ranger track, often, this mob never, and I mean NEVER, showed up once.
Did I mention that I lived for "days-on-end" in the maze? That's what it seemed like.

according to just about everything I've read so far, this item is nearly impossible to obtain. It's listed as common, but from what I've read, I wouldn't attempt finding one of these. The character it supposedly drops from is a near-never spawn, and it's not even guaranteed to drop once you kill him. You might be more lucky finding one to buy in the bazaar.

Read on a different page on this site that Spinflint drops this. Rare mob in Beholder's Maze. Don't know level info though.
