Brothers' Folly
In the days shortly after Halas was founded there were two brothers, Adol and Bran. As with most brothers, they were competitive over everything. Their need to outdo each other helped to make them legends among the people of the north. They clashed with the frost giants whenever the monsters attempted their assaults on the fledgling city and their triumphs were many, their defeats few.
One morning the brothers went to speak with their sister only to discover that she was missing. Fearful for her safety, they searched around her tent and discovered small footprints, clearly those of goblins. They followed the tracks left in the morning frost out into the hills, each swearing vengeance on the giants responsible, for of course the frost giants were responsible.
