there are a few looms in the city. its hard to explain what it looks like. its like a large white square when facing it. with a wooden border. its hard to explain. From the side it's slightly angled. if you have to... (not that its very realistic in EQ) go to

www.google.com
click 'images'
type in Loom
and do a search....

I believe there is one up by trueshots. that mechant there. the female...? look at a map.

http://www.nx.sakura.ne.jp/~chizuya/image/faydarkimage/map-kelethin.htm

*crying* - I just think the games termanology is HORRIBLE. the guy gives you a pattern, to put in and combine. when a loom usually uses a pattern. and the guy gives you a MOLD which normally is used in a forge. its just a horrible use of items and terms.

Tinting
# Aug 29 2002 at 1:01 AM Rating: Decent
Someone mentioned a ways back in this thread a way to fix the tinting problems... I've done this and it doesn't seem to make any difference, the armor is still tinted up to the neck. Anyone have any suggestions?

Let's all not forget this is nOOb armor, starting at level 5. Think back to your very first PC, did you have the money to spend on the coolest armor or the level to loot it from the mobs that drop it. My only fear is if Sony/Verant make the game too easy, will it still be the same challenge to level that I enjoy now?

I fell the exact same way. When i started out, i lost xp when i died at lvl 5, and i had to get my corpse when i died no matter what lvl i was at. I never had newbie armor, i had to get cloth from the orcs. Now THAT was fun ^^ I feel they are making this too easy for us. Just my 2cp

I have been playing for a little over 4 years. This is not that easy. Its an odd irony. Only an old player would appriciate such nice gear at a low level. But A newplayer rarely can find all he or she needs, having no clue there is a place even called "crushbone" - The reason is because everyone is a twink and an EBAY toon.

If these were implimented some 3 years ago, in the hay-day of level 7's running about in cloth, in throngs, looking for a group. The system would work better.

The biggest problem is mst encourage you to explore, go a zone out of your beginning area. few noobs even know.

However best advice I have is, Make a list of what you need. Go out, play the game, dont fixae on one piece, just play to level up and make friends. Loot and save only what you need.

Rangers have it pretty easy with track, all others, it can be VERY drustrating, even knowing where to look.

I am not proud. I am a level 20 and will do this quest because I am so broke trying to buy spells. Armor is secondary to me so if I can get something with some boosts, I am all over it!

Hmmm.

The "Halfling stuff" is Moss Toe armor (see the Rivervale quest list). I am a Wood Elf druid and was very envious when I saw what the halflings got. I am VERY satisfied with the Leafrunner armor, though. (Would have been nice when I was 5th, o'course.)

I don't get where everyone thinks the Moss Toe armor is better. The Leafrunner set is clearly superior. Here are the stats for the whole sets:

Moss Toe:

+26 AC, +1 STR, +3 DEX, +7 WIS, +11 HP, + 4 STA, +1 CHR, 17.80 Stone Wt.

Leafrunner:

+26 AC, +8 DEX, +8 WIS, +22 STA, 3.70 Stone Wt.

The extra point in wisdom is nice, and the huge boost to stamina, but what really puts it over the top is the weight (I assume since the Leafrunner is silk based). The whole set weighs 1/5 as much as the Moss Toe.

Only complaint I have is that I have killed about 50 CB orcs and not found a ribcage. Anyone know where these drop?

Thanks,

Matt

In *most* cases, if you look, the less played combos, for race/class get better stuff. Like Halfling cleric, Gnome Shadowknight or um.... Human Necro... High-Elf Pally.

With some of the sick gear you can take one of the most pathetic toons and crank them out.

Its just a point in case. Yes, there are a ton of halfling druids, but also a lot of wood elfs. And well, in all leather even weight is starting to be an issue with my 11 wood-elf.

You have to keep in mind, Halflings are <The Easiest Race> in the game. My friend told me his 54 halfling was gaining xp faster than his 48 half elf. They have a vast newbie area with plenty of quests and mobs to keep them busy. And now, their newbie quest armors give better stats. thats just the way things were made.

It's green, and even though it has a low neckline, it dyes your skin green up to your neck.

I was very disappointed in this armor, after seeing the halfling stuff. I had assumed this would be comparable. Every piece in this set has inferior stats. :(
RE: haha
# Jul 26 2002 at 5:15 AM Rating: Excellent
As with the problem of the armour tinting the skin up to the neck, since luclin was released there was a problem with the new armours. All you have to do to fix it is when you're in game, just type /dopropertinting :)

Hope this helps :)

RE: haha

Then you must have the Luclin armor models turned "Off". :o)
RE: haha
# Oct 12 2002 at 10:43 PM Rating: Decent
I had the same problem after trying the "/dopropertinting on". When I logged back in, my character and many others where naked. Nobody in Tech Support could help me. So I went to the "eqclient" file in the Everquest directory and changed the "AllLuclinPcModelsOff" from FALSE to TRUE. Now I have my armor back on but I still have the yellow tinting up to my neck.

And to think, halflings start with more wis than wood elfs ;D
