In my time adventuring I realized that there is one thing that every expedition needs, which is a hearty, easy to cook meal that can be made while the rest of the camp is being set up. I found that baking can be very useful for this task and have come up with a few recipes that can help maintain a semblance of home in the frigid lands of
| Velious.
That all being said, lets get with the recipes, shall we? First up, some baked fish:
Crisped Spotted Fish = Gently massage some acorn oil and some coarse salt into Velium Spotted Fish Fillets. Bake at a medium high heat.
Velious Fish Cakes = Dredge some Crisped Spotted Fish with some egg batter and melted butter. Then coat the fish with dragon mayonnaise, spices, and some dried breadcrumbs.
It is important to partake in a daily allotment of vegetables but eating them raw is simply unappetizing. Here
| is how you can spruce up your vegetables. These are very useful should any adventurers in your group be vegetarian:
Baked Velious Roots = Take two piles of Velium Permeated Vegetables with some fine salt and an onion and bake it with some vegetable oil in a sturdy oven. Careful, as the heat tends to react violently with
the Velium.
Velious Gratin (Or as I like to call it, 'The best damn dish this side of Kunark') (Vegetarian warning: This dish contains bacon) = Take two portions of your leftovers from the Baked Velious Roots, this helps accentuate the flavor as they have already been prepared. Then mix two
| cups of breadcrumbs with ground pepper and hot red peppers. Dredge the roots in cream, coat with the spice and breadcrumb mixture, add 1 cup of mature cheese, and place in a pan. From here, you can cut up some cured bacon and sprinkle it over the top. Cover the top with another cup of mature cheese and voila! You will have a meal fit for
any hearty adventurer.
We move on from the fish and veggies to something that can warm even the coldest of bones. I want to take this moment to encourage those who are traversing these lands to consider a more plant driven diet, but understand that some people still crave meat. For those people, I have included
| the following recipes:
Resteat(tm)(Get it? Restless + Meat? This is clever and you can't argue with me because this is my recipe book) = Season a restless meat slurry with rock salt, garlic spices, a cup of sugar, and a clove of garlic. Form to the desired shape and bake in an oven. The resulting meat loaf is what I
like to call "Resteat(tm)", and now you will too!
To spice up your Resteat(tm) even further, try this recipe for Resteat(tm) Mother Hen Toast = Mix a cup of flour with some spices. Dredge the Resteat(tm) in a bowl of milk with some egg yolks mixed in and coat the Resteat(tm) with the flour mixture. Take a pan
| and line the bottom with vegetable oil. Slice up a loaf of leavened bread and cover the bottom of the pan with the bread. Toss in a stick of butter and use that to baste the loaf while its in the oven. The juices from the loaf will soak into the bread while it also gets toasted by the pan. This one is a little tricky to make as it requires
a lot of skill and attention, but once completed, you'll have a delicious meal fit for anyone who eats meat.
Finally, a mixture of the two! Try this Velious Surf and Turf Stew recipe for something easy to make, and hard to put down! Take some leftover Resteat(tm) and some crisped spotted fish leftovers and put it in a pot.
| Chop up an onion, throw in a hearty helping of baked velious roots. Flavor with some natural spices, 1 flask of water and 1 bottle of red wine, and let simmer. Once reduced, add a cup of flour as a thickening agent. This stew can be stored and kept with you on your long trips out in the wastelands.

I hope these recipes will give you respite on your cold nights out in Velious. If you see Salisbjorne, tell him he still owes Todrick a drink.
