I've taken my lvl 10 shamie to KC used invis sow and lev from friendly druid to get there stayed there for 3 evenings asking to loot Jasrath and had alot of help from many people in KC even killed me dragged corps into Hand room rezwd me to loot Killed me again dragged me back to enterance and rezzed me again End result Full set of Jasrath (less boots) and a supple scale armband lots of Nice people there and at lvl 10 exp loss was minimal considering the gain in armor thanks to the Kindness of KC players ..
Looted a set of these off an undead jailer last night. I had been in two different groups, and we had killed him several times, with no drop. After a messy CR (someone created a huge train involving the pawbuster, and a bunch of other stuff), my group bronke up, and I was sitting by the zone, figured i would offer some free rezzes( 50%, don't have the good one yet), and shout for the leggings. Less than a minute later, I get a tell saying a pair had dropped, and wow, at RC, probably the second easiest spot to get to. Run over there, hop the water, and bam, got em.
BTW, my cleric was lvl 42 at the time, so it is possible to get a group here at that level if you are a cleric. I wouldn't recommend it for melee classes though.
Only downside, between my Sebilite scale mail, jarsath legs and boots, and giant scalemails sleeves, i look like a complete newbie again. In fact, with the old graphics, I look exactly like I did at lvl 16, when I was in banded, with blackened alloy sleeves. Oh well, at least I know the difference.
Funny part is, I keep getting mistaken for a shaman or druid, and being asked for SOW.
You should see them with the Luclin graphics initialized. They're a rather bright color, almost an orange-ish pink. Very different from any other armor color I've seen.
I got a lvl 10 cleric in KC. I also like the fact that Uber Wis char's dont loot. Its awesome leg armor for clerics. If its rotting /shout so other unlucky cleric's can loot. Its only fair.

it is nice for other characters to shout uwanted no-drop items, if someone is looking for them. What is not nice is taking a lvl 10 character in here, anywhere except right by the zone line. If someone were to shout that the legs had dropped, and your ran in to get them, by the time you got there, there would be a train of mobs on your heels, and you'd die when u went to loot. this would leave the poor group who shouted with your train to deal with, and they'd probably die also. Get some gatorscale legs, and come back in 25 levels, if you want to loot, 35 if you expect to group.
If you insist on trying to loot the item now, have a high level cleric cast invis to undead, to at least minimize the train.
True enough, unless they have SOW. Most karnors mobs move pretty slow, but keep following, especially the undead stuff. you could agro 3 or 4 of these, not know it, and when you went to loot, wham, dead, and the group who killed it now has 4 mobs in aggro range.
Please do shout. I got these, the breastplate, the helm and a bracer in one day, and the gloves the day before. I just need the boots and vambraces. Either I am smarter than most others who take low levels to get this stuff, or I've been lucky for the past 2 days. I made it to the Dreadlands, and through the dreadlands to Karnor's Castle with no invis/sow/levitate at level 1. Yes the run from DL to KC ent is a little hairy but if you're smart and you are patient you'll be fine.
Once you get to the zone-in wait till everything in your path is clear/pulled and run in. And hope there isn't a train :). At level 1, my first time here, my first time on kunark, my first time in the dreadlands. I searched the DL zone to find the ent to KC. It was just the highest level zone I could think of and I had quit EQ a while back but made this character to talk with old friends and guildies. I had around 25 hp, so I wasn't buffed. Kind of did it for the shock value :).
Anyway. Once there I heard about this stuff, and since no one else wanted it I figured I could get some without any trouble. First part was gloves. Gloves dropped at the enterance. After getting the gloves I camped out safely, no problem. No aggro, no death, nada. I made a few friends in there in that short time. That was key to later on.
Came back on next day and saw everything in my path was pulled/killed so I ran to the LCY (didn't know what it was before hehe) and met a couple friends from the night before. Asked if I could hang around and if they could give me a heads up on any JS that dropped. Well, I died when we (me and the group I was hanging out with) got trained by VSR TWICE in a row. Did those CR's on my own, but eventually the cleric in the group felt sorry for me and gave me 0% exp rezzes. Well, I'd pop my LoH on the MT or an enchanter that pulled aggro every once in a while and that got a good chuckle.
Eventually I got all pieces except boots and vambs and made about 8 or 9 new friends in the mean time. Died about 6 or 7 times, but 4 of those were from trains that killed others in the group as well (and were not caused by me). Talked with a lot of old friends/guildies in my little corner. (the box in the corner of the LCY for anyone who hunts in KC hehe, that is Basted's box)
We made jokes about how I was MT for the group or how I was uber enough to fight here at level 1. Kind of funny to get into the ooc/shout jokes at level 1 hehe. Even starting some. During an argument about a level 42 warrior getting a group I ooc'ed that if I could MT for a group a level 42 warrior could, I started up groups at the zoneline (hehe), I pulled for another group as a joke, and actually got a single for them, etc etc.
In conclusion. Go for the armor. Stay for the people.
they are not bad for a free drop for paladins...greaves of ro are only ac 13 and some stats. they are an option til ya get either DW/Valorium/Greaves of the Righteous or quest greaves.
