#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 01 2002 at 1:27 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) greaves suck compared to sebilite legs, check the stats urself, cheaper as well
RE: sucko

The AC, Str and saves on this is alot better then Seb Scale legs. You would only take the Seb Scale Legs over Darkscale if you were a perhaps a bard or paladin (or shammy/cleric, but they can't use these). Also they don't seem to be to expensive, I saw these today for 1.5k

well the seb legs have better ac but as a rogue i would rather the 6extra str then 2ac and some wis and these have more saves. mind you the price is alot higher

As everybody said... they look like plate...
Yes, Iksars can't wear plate... except stuff like this... which shows up as a slightly different colored Dreadscale greaves.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 27 2001 at 10:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) no, they're not plate. I am a rng, rngs can wear them. Since rangers cannot wear plate, and can wear leather and chain armors, this is not plate. Trust me.

Heh, they are called dark SCALE greaves. They are a different class altogether, so iksar and ranger can use =b They are like chain, but not, and just look like plate.
There you go.

Here's a hella easy way to tell if your character is a plate, chain, leather, or cloth class:
1) Get a Cloth Tunic appropriate to the size of your character's race. If it can be equipped, you can wear cloth!
2) Get a Patchwork Tunic appropriate to the size of your character's race. If it can be equipped, you can wear leather!
3) Get a Banded Tunic appropriate to the size of your character's race. If it can be equipped, you can wear chain!
4) Buy a Fine Plate Breastplate appropriate to the size of your character's race. If it can be equipped, you can wear plate!

Hell. Everyone but Pure Casters can wear plate, maybe they even have some!
Here are some examples of non-plate classes that can wear magical plate armor. Notice that all plate these classes can wear is MAGIC.
Rogues:
Mrylokar's armor and Black Ice Greaves
Ranger:
Tolan's armor
Shaman:
Totemic and Jaundiced Bone armor
Druid:
Elder Spiritist(Plate or chain???)

See, tons of people can wear plate, even though they cannot be classified as a plate class.

Plate, by DEFINITION in EQ, is restricted to the five plate-wearing classes: WAR, PAL, SHD, BRD, CLR. Just because it's got the word "plate" in its name or because it "looks" like plate doesn't qualify it a plate armor. Know your stuff before flaming others, Sashar.

Are you Stupid? Just because it says plate and looks like plate its not plate? What the hell is plate then? Rangers can where plate, I bet my Paineel Steel BP {Ranger Usable}. Or try Tolan's with AC better than a lot of "Plate" aromors out there with a plate look. You are blind you assume just because armor that is usable by Ranger's is not Platemail. It looks like plate protects like plate it is called plate, yet it is not plate? What are you level 2? Ohh wait you don't have an account. Your just on your school PC with nothing better to do.

Bremi Gendrolis, Ranger of Tunare 47th Season
Ivellios Warrior 14th season in counting
Torrun Paladin of Tunare 19th season in counting
Vejjita Shadowknight of Innoruuk 11th season
Gokkou Monk of Everyone who needs help 12th season

P.S. Before you flame others you should know your stuff. Before you critic my work just remember one thing you have already spoken and proven yourself an idiot. I will try to be sensitive you are dumber than me.

First off this is not Plate mail, it's scale mail. Secondly, most classes can wear a form of plate. Druid's can wear plate type armor, as long as it's not metal, Rangers can wear plate as long as its wooden plate, etc. etc. By all RP honesty though, rangers should only be able to equip up to chain class (because they need to travel lightly and quietly in the forests) Druids normally only wear cloth and maybe leather but they usually don't due to their love for the trees and animals and rogues wouldn't ever wear anything heavier than leather for the more than obvious reasons...

I think you mean monks, not rogues, btw. Monks have the weight restrictions.

anybody every count the number of the word plate in all the post here . lol , I am ranger lvl 49 we cann wear plate class armor ( as in it does not llok like chain ) has the same stats comparable to it class PLATE counter parts IE Tolan, Crystal, Mithril, Truesilver, Thorny, so and so forth. i think most people are jus erked because they played a certain class because they wanted to look cool in armor and found out that yes we rangers can have our cake and eat it too, if you still doubt lookup on this site either tolans or crystal chitin and the have links with pics of woodelf rangers shining in there Plate:)
RE: not plate
# Feb 27 2003 at 4:39 AM Rating: Default
Yes, just about every class can get some plate. However, Rangers are known as a chain class IN GENERAL. Just look at velious armor -- they take corroded chain, not corroded plate. The point is that though rangers can wear some plate, they are known as a chain class.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 07 2001 at 7:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) They're plate.

Send Morik or Drizzel a tell in game if anyone has these or seb scale legs for sale on the Prexus Server. I'd be willing to part with a fair amount of pp for this item. Should fit nicely on me rogue until I can get some mrylokar legs;)
RE:Color
# May 18 2001 at 12:37 AM Rating: Decent
Who cares what color they look like. Or if they look like chain or plate. GIVE INFO! That's what this site is for.. or is it a site to debate points of view and slam people for their poor english?
RE:Color

Well, the appearance (and who drops it) is the only info not given above. So it makes sense for people to post those facts.

DUH!!
Darkscale greaves
# May 04 2001 at 9:48 PM Rating: Good
Ok First off these are not common. They are super rare. secondly, they are actually Green/grey not at all blue. In low light they look very dark, to humans etc with no visual enhancements they may look black or blue cobalt type but believe me they are green/grey.

Also they are defiantely Platemail greaves not chain. People want them cos:

They are Unique colour.
No other Darkscale components.
People believe they are black. They are not.
People believe they look like cobalt, they do not except for being Plate.
They are very rare.
Rogues love them.
They have resists to all saves and more strength than any other legs.

These are some reasons why they are worth good money.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 12 2002 at 10:02 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Light black? to make black lighter you would add white and black + white = grey... hello, kindergarten
