ItemMe and a friend just killed a named cyclops (not Tarksuk) in Rathe Mtn who dropped these. alot easier than doing the quest. Better be lvl 42+ or you will feel very bad for hitting him.

no there really is a named clops that drops totemic, he is just super rare.

I believe the reason that Iksar can not wear this and other "plates" was due in part to a balance decision justified by thier odd shape. They have an inate AC bonus that adds up, which is why the Iksar equivlent of Crafted/SK(name escapes me)/Totemic all have 1-2 AC less per piece than the other races get. On the flip side their equivlent pieces of these armors usually have +2 to some other Stat (agi or whatever). I would be intrested in seeing an Iksar Warrior in Full Trooperscale(think that is the Crafted-type) next to an Human in Crafted with the same AGI to see how the AC is balanced out (specificly if the Inate AC makes up the difference in armors). Now I am not sure of the Iksar AC bonus, or if it mulitplies the same way a 4 AC item gives 6 AC at later levels (more or less depending on class I think). I believe the bonus is 15-20ish Now Iksar already have a heafty XP penalty (same as a Troll) and level more slowly, I thought it was kind of strange that they got "balanced" with class armors as well. However, at the later levels Iksar in theory can attain a higher AC then the other races, Since Velious quest armor and high level drops are not restriced by race. So if you are an Iksar you will be "screwed" a bit in the mid levels (unless the AC balances out more or less, then you would have better stat mods but lower starting stats than fatties). Eventually Iksar can attain a higher AC then any other race I believe.
Of course, Monks are the exception to this (as I found out later) since there are only a few items they can not wear that humans can, and most monks are in all/all gear anyway since monk specific armor is not as good.

Their monks are the best stat wise and ac wise since they wear cloth as humans do, not sure if catpeople will have better stats
They can have the best post-tov ac, but before that they are limited in what they can wear

It is not plate, it is ringmail. Iksar shaman are left out because it is large.

If you are talking about Totemic... It is most definitely plate. I have a whole suit of it. And yes, Iksar are left out because it is plate.
Ummm, news flash guys... Shaman can't wear plate! Just because it looks like it doesnt make it plate armor. How often have you seen items that didn't look quite right? For instance EQ Elderberry looks more like RL Fennel, and Fennel looks more like Elderberry.

Iksar Shaman are left out because this armor is a type of plate armor. Iksar cannot wear plate types of armor, it chafes their scales.
So, why is it that the iksar shaman are left out? Just curious. Do we have an alternate, shaman~iksar only armor? Please post any information. My iksar shaman is only level 10, but I like to plan out my daily activities accordingly. =)

Not exactly what was asked -- scaled mystic armor is the iksar equivalent of totemic, obtained via quests given in the guildhall.
Enchanted cabilis scale is made by smithing, not obtained through a quest, and it is NOT shaman only -- Iksar Warriors & SKs can use it also.

Is the quest in the guildhall for the Iksar Shammies still there nad who do you talk to if so?
