Since the people making fun of people who don't know that Cazic Thule is now higher level, don't seem to know that its even easier to get now because of it...I will correct their hasty judgements to save everyone some embarasement.
The ravenscale pieces are dropped off of the same mobs that are now found on the many pyramids that surround the outside of Cazic Thule in the Feerot. The exception to this being the Chestguard and I believe the Coif, which drop off of a Silver something Gorrila at the CT entrance. I have yet to find the mob that drops the gloves but I've heard its still there.
So far the legs have been the most difficult to get...A friend camped them for 12 hours straight with only 1 spawn of the Templar and it dropped the Lizardscale Cloak instead.
Hunted here with my roomates rogue....the boots, gloves, and 2 coifs dropped of the Silverflank gorrilla. Heading there tonight to see if we can get more
I cant help but notice how many people think that these are a GREAT rog twink, they are not just think a rogs most important stats are as follows, in this order dex, str, agi, and then sta, and in my opinion sta is mostly a waste of time, the only reason i would consider giving these to a rog twink is if i were to give him or her the whole ravenscale set.
If you ask me the whole ravenscale set is totally overated, i spent countless amounts of time getting the set, minus the mask which has see invis so it was way out of my price range, and the stats absolutly sucked. But fortunate for me everyone else doesnt know that and i ended up selling the set and buying some real gear. If your interested in what the set looks like click the url below and then got to the profile thats titled "thorpa current", the stuff in that profile is the stuff i bought after selling all my ravenscale gear. On the top of the list is Hardened bone spear 12/25 +15str
"I cant help but notice how many people think that these are a GREAT rog twink, they are not just think a rogs most important stats are as follows, in this order dex, str, agi, and then sta, and in my opinion sta is mostly a waste of time"
First off, dex and agility are basically junk stats in EQ. The effect they have on a character is so miniscule that it's not worthwhile to concentrate on either stat. Never, ever, buy an item simply because it has high dex or agi. Items like Serp Bracers and Black Pearl jewelry (just to name a couple) are useless garbage.
Second, regarding your "sta is mostly a waste of time" comment: You couldn't be more wrong. If your stamina is below 100, stamina is THE most important stat to raise, since all negative effects (aside from not being able to jump) from having your stamina bar empty are eliminated. Ask any high level rogue on the Safehouse forum what stat to put your points into at creation, and 9 out 10 will say stamina. It is the hardest stat to raise, and as you reach high levels, will have a bigger effect on your character than any other stat because of it's effect on hit point totals.
You are right that Ravenscale is mostly outdated, but other than that, you're clueless, or at least you were when you posted this message :)
Hmmm. Must disagree on a couple of counts re the serpentine bracer. 1. Forget exactly what I paid for mine but well under 50pp for an item with a focus II effect. Sure it'd be really cool if there was some wis and int on it but the focus effect (now that it's Burning Affliction) can make quite a difference. 2. Note when you are overweight agility goes down the tubes. Therefore, if your agi is higher, you become clumsy less quickly.
Also, as noted elsewhere, dex helps weapon procs so a high dex is great.
Your point on stamina is well taken, but I have to disagree wrt DEX. I have never played a rogue, so I have no idea how important they would be to that character, but most melee classes like their weapons to proc, preferrably on a regular basis, and increasing DEX is what you need for this. My current offhand weapon procs an 85pt. Having this go off four times in a fight instead of once makes a big difference.
And, yes, AGI doesn't seem to be worth the cost for most classes.
It all depends. in my ranger Dex is one of the best stats letting me do that extra bit of damage with procs. no matter how much ac or hitpoints I have im probably going to take damage fairly poorly. So I am a DPS machine and fairly reliant on Dex.
However. Some poeple dont seem to understand, more Procs = more agro. Thats not really good for a rogue/ranger, unless of course your pulling off a pure caster.
Dex by the way does something else I dont see anyone mention in detail. Dex will raise your Attack raiting. What that means is hitting more often (which was mentioned) but the mobs Armor does less against those hits. In general rangers and rogues are not terribly strong at younger levels, So making every hit count is critical.
I have a wood elf rogue on a pvp server. Dex and Agility are my bread and butter, twinked or not im not an easy target to hit. I know Agility only adds a few AC... but your dodge and all that, you become quite annoying to a de-leveled player thats whailing on noobs.
It is an age old argument. Again its all on how you play. For example allthough HIGHLY unheard of if you could solo mostly id say go with stamina ...On PVP I know im going to be cast on and take hits I know I cant compare with most playes Hit points so... I went Dex/Agil using my already natural ability to the fullest.
If I have high agility/dex and I raise stamina... i get an average char... the other way I am WAY higher in dex/agility. meaning work with the races natural ability. I read this one argument on a halfling warrior, who put none to stamina and all to dex/agility. It was interesting. His offence/defense skilled up fast, he was hard to hit and hard hitting.
also dex effects throwing weapons and bow for criticals.... thats important... way important.
so you're one of those players that make ppl never take rogues, rangers adn such into groups eh? Rogues and rangers can't take hits is the common opinion...hmmm, sta = hp. do the math.
and btw, I'll yell for a rez next time I see you, you'll need it.
well if you people havnt noticed cazic thule is no longer a newb zone..where you gonna get your ravenscale now? better start looking or start payin the better prices for whats still out there
Hi, just now on Vazaelle got these leggings. I traded the guy 6 pieces of ringmail ( chest, neck, waist, head, shoulders) a small banded head and blackened iron leggings. If you ask me, i got a killer deal. i was very happy. also got ravenscale head and wrist for 160pp. Bizarp lvl 20 rogue, Vazaelle
Some guy was trying to charge me 1k pp for these the other day on Druzzil Ro. When I laughed at him he got really mad. I told him to look around at what other leggings I could get for 1k and get back to me. These are worth 500 tops. (And if anyone on Druzzil wants to send a tell to Wescott about selling me some of these)
Anyhow, the question arises, what would you pay and what have you paid?
Hehe I was helping my friend looking for a page for shammy quest when i see this named guy ... kill him and viola RS legs ... will be nice for my rogue twink
