Note if you are interested in this weapon on a TLP Server. The "Blood Bath" worn effect is just the displayed 25 attack and 2HP regen listed on the item, it is not an additional bonus. The worn effect does however give 5AC which seems to be the only thing that didn't get simplified to straight stats on the item page. This is a leftover remnant of when Mod2s such as Attack and Mana Regen were displayed as worn spells such as Vengeance 1/2/3 and Flowing Thought 1/2/3.

Yarrr, avast mateys!
I picked up dis fine piece of steel a few days ago. She is a mighty fine weapon, and an unbelievably rare one at that. Der's only 9 of them on Terris Thule, pretty low fer somethin that's from Luclin. The ratio/stats are excellent, and comparable to lots of the other ssra/BoT piercers. But what sets this weapon apart is the worn effect. The attack on the effect adds some nice dps, and that's ontop of the wonderful ratio. And who's gonna scoff at an extra 2 regen + 10ac?
Oh aye, and someone posted that max bs w/ it is 639... dis ain't true mateys! i poke considerably higher than that w/ out disc very frequently. even in PvP i've got higher that 639. Looks like i'll be keepin dis poker atleast in offhand till pick up a dart or irif. mayhaps both :o)

Whats with the ranger forum on a Rogue Only weapon page? NICE BLADE, I can't wait to get my hands on it. When I do, I will probably have a ranger or two in the group with me. Okay?

Just have to wonder that they put skill mods on a weapon of this type. Most any rogue who is rolling on this will not benefit from a skill mod as they are already at the skill cap. All in all though it seems a decent blade, nice dex boost to help with proc and most excellent ratio.

Rogues max at 225 backstab. Skill maxes are 252. 225 * 1.12 = 252. It means that the maximum normal backstab for Ragebringer is 533 iirc (no skill bonus, but 15 damage poker) while the MDoV's max backstab is 599 (+12% skill bonus and 15 damage poker). The max normal backstab on Bloodbath is 639 but I don't know of any 16 damage poker without a skill bonus to compare it against.

I just have a few comments about some of the other posts here...

Milluyen - while you're correct about most of what you say, you're not totally correct. A warrior and ranger of equal level may have similar HP/AC up to a point. However, (and just to use a solid example) at level 60 there is usually a huge disparity between a warrior and ranger's HP/AC wearing equivalent gear. Where a well-equipped Ranger may have a raid-buffed AC of 1200-1300, a warrior might have 1400-1600. That same ranger might top out at 5k-5200 HP, whereas the warrior might have 6800+.

Shadowiey - I'd assume you're either simply making a joke to get people riled up, got annoyed that you sucked as a Ranger, or haven't played since Kunark.

That's all I have to say about that :)
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 14 2002 at 4:20 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Rangers are bad at everthing BUT damage output? HA! what a load of bull! We can tank, deal a serious amount of damage, heal ourselves, solo well. ANd if anything the right combination of equipment we could be equal to a warrior in HP and AC, and still have a line of spealls at our disposal.

Okay... my turn. First, no, I don't play a ranger. I play a paladin. Yeah, yeah, down in back... keep the cat calls to yourself. Second, I'm a damn good paladin who does his best to surround himself with damn good people. I've seen some top notch rangers in action... and let me tell you, some of you people smoke some serious happy crack.

At 51, I could out taunt a 60 ranger. It's true, I proved it in Fear on a week long raid (hey, it was a bet... I won). But that being said, it was a LOT of work to pull the aggro... and it wasn't worth it, because after I had it I got the tar beaten out of me... stuffed back into me (and I won't tell you via what methods, there are women and children present)... and then rebeaten out of me.

Rangers may not be the MASTERS of taunt, but they can do a whole world of aggro control with minimal effort. They accel at added damage... something most of you people don't seem to care about. You know... that damage that comes from someone other than the MA and the casters? You know... the other 15 or so tanks standing around with you? We're not just window dressing. Rangers have the option of being in the front lines swinging (and they're damn good at it)... they have the option of being in the back for additional mob control (some of us raid even when the chanter /tells in sick). They even get the option of, if all goes particularly poor, doing both. They can add an obscene amount of damage with that discipline and some of the more disturbing arrow/bow combinations... WHILE standing around having coffee with the druids.

Yeah, they're versatile. Yeah, they can do multiple jobs. Yeah, the day of the Holy Trinity[tm] has passed. It's time to see more and more of these rolls falling on hybrids and multitasking classes. Warriors will always have they're place (and the first one of you twits who says something like "at home" or "in crushbone"... well... I hope you find yourself on the wrong end of a Crippling Blow in a dark alley)... No one does hitpoints like a warrior with an attitude. No one can suck it up like THE ORIGINAL tank. There will always be mobs that require a Warrior MA... or three good Pally/Sk MAs to do the same job. That being said... when it comes time for me to pick who's guarding my back... I'd really rather have someone that can shoot over it than someone who stabs through it when I need some help with what's in front of me.

NOW! All that being said, as to this weapon, I really only have one thing to say. This could make me want to play a rogue.

It's nice to see some serious thought going into new things. I've always hated seeing classes suffering from the "I'm not a tank... after my epic, I'm done" routine. As a pally, well... my epic has reached a standstill... I'm too old for Vox and Naggy... and I refuse to join an "uber guild" so I can zerg Gore and family withing 5 minutes of her spawning. Which means no book for me. Which means no epic for me. Am I crushed? Hell no. I've got the Nature's Defender to work towards, the Ethereal Bladed Naginata, goddess knows WHAT from Umbral and Vex and Sra... you get the idea. And when I have those? Well... I'm a tank. Loot all you want, Verant will make more. But for the non core classes... you know, those people who aren't Tanks, Clerics, Nukers... well... it always seemed to me that there were things with more stats... but really, the epic was it. Anything after that was a "warm fuzzy"... a puppy treat for not pissing on the carpet. It really didn't help those classes move above what they had.

So, in short... keep it up, V! Hopefully you've had your head out of your tailhole long enough to realize you like fresh air, and we'll see more of this in the revamps/new zones/expansions ahead.

Rangers are still looked down upon because when Kunark first came out, their defense skill didn't change post-50. Rangers ac, as a result, sucked for those levels, for a short period. This is where the "Ranja down!" chants started coming from, and it's people's ignorance that perpetuates it today. There are other classes that go down more today, especially since rangers have been given Jolt and Jolting blades. Any ranger that gets kill due to overaggroing is a stupid ranger or they're leading a raid and figuring out the roll on the something while attacking and the MA goes down (only happened once).

Now, rangers are one of the most versatile classes. We can dish out damage, lots of it via melee or spells, we can heal, we can tank (in exp groups), and we can keep vital people (such as shamans or enchanters) alive on raids when they overaggro a big meanie (5 rangers chain-Greater healing said shaman or enchanter = alive shaman/enchanter). I have also been main healer in an exp group once, granted we didn't need much but still we CAN fill that roll.

Rangers can solo pretty dang effectively and we are pretty desired in groups.

Think before you speak next time please.

Well, in my last 3 HOT raids, Cazic Raid, Inny Raid, Trak raid, and Vindy raids I havent died once, dont think we lost a single ranger on any of them actually. So please think before you flame another class like that. Rangers arent tanks granted, of course, I never claimed to be one.

1) Caps lock off is your friend.

2) Rogue with this and an epic would outdamage any other melee class. Rogue WITHOUT this and an epic will generally do the same.

3) Rangers do more damage than Warriors, especially when you factor in combat casting. They are 3rd (or 2nd, depending on who you ask) on the totem pole of melee damage, just beneath Rogues and Monks.

I think the point is missed here by ranger fans. (no not the ones up in the blue seats in the garden) Rangers with their casting combined with mellee can do a large amount of damage and their versatility and assist tanking abilities are awesome, but what make a rogue so uber is the fact that if well played he can severely outdamage the Main Tank and still NOT get aggro, no mere ranger can do that. Thus the healer(s) can concetrate on the tank, and everyone in the group/raid is healthier and happier.

Please look up the definition on melee. Since when do range attacks and spell attacks fall into the melee category? Personally I think ranger rock. But so do alot of classes. Can you name one class that sucks? I like them all, but I love playing a rogue the most.
