Scince u can get UP TO 3 of them, and didn't have to be the tank, u could have 15 ac,21 str,15wis and int, and 90 mana. Thats a lot of stats for some newb!!!!
Take an imbued amber, an idol sketch, a bar of gold (NOT enchanted), a flask of water (NOT foraged or summoned), a celestial essence, a vial of distilled mana, a large block of magic clay, and sculpting tools, combine then in a pottery wheel (you'll get sculpting tools back, succeed or fail). If you were lucky enough to suceed, take your unfired idol and combine it with a high quality firing sheet and divine crystalline glaze in a kiln. Couldn't be simpler, right? You probably want to know how to get the stuff...
Imbued amber: get an amber (store bought or mob dropped) imbued by a Cazic-Thule worshipping cleric or shaman, lvl 29 or higher.
Celestial essence: take a high level spell component (that makes a 44+ spell) and combine it with a celestial solvent in a mortal and pestle. No fail combine, need not be a rogue. (Celestial solvent is sold in the Bazaar and PoK). Hint: to save the trouble of gathering spell components, there's a few merchants (one in EC near the WC zone line, for example) who sell Scent of Marr in their regualr inventory; this is one of the components that works in making celestial essence.
Vial of distilled mana: Get an enchanter to cast the distill mana spell (lvl 39 spell, sold by the brownies in LFay) on a poison vial and two sapphires.
Poison vial: Can me made with pottery (hey, if you're attempting to make a golden idol, you should know how to make a poison vial already!) or bought from poison supply merchants.
Large block of magic clay: Get an enchanter to cast the enchant clay spell (lvl 8 spell, sold in Felwithe and Neriak, among other places) on a large block of clay.
Divine Crystalline Glaze: In a glaze mortar, combine white lead, iron oxide, flask of water (NOT foraged or summoned), and permafrost crystals. No-fail combine. (joy, more sub-recipes!)
White lead: In a mortar and pestle, combine lead sulfide and limestone (no-fail combine). Both the lead sulfide and the limestone are sold by Myre, a merchan in Kaladim just outside the bank.
Permafrost crystals: ground spawn in Permafrost, also a random drop off of mobs in Permafrost.
Iron Oxide: Ground spawn in Steamfont Mountains. Also drops off of earth elementals (rare drop off of them) anywhere they are (such as The Hole, Najena, Steamfont, etc.) or off stonegrabbers in several Luclin zones (such as Marus Seru).
All other ingredients can be storebought from NPC merchants' regualr inventories.
Can't wait to make one, can you? Go for it!
By the way, it isn't trivial until about 240 (that applies to the pottery wheel combine, kiln combine is much less than that). All of the golden idols triv in the pottery wheel at at least 240; some are not trivial even at 250.
P.S. Golden idols of any other deity follow this same recipe, except you substitute an imbued gem of the appropriate deity. For example, if you used an imbued plains pebble instead of an imbued amber, you'd get a golden idol of Karana. Works for all of the worshippable deities (except Veeshan, fused dragon crystal does not currently work in this recipe.) All of the gem imbuing spells are lvl 29, cast usually by a cleric or shaman of the appropriate deity. Emeralds (Tunare) and plains pebbles (Karana) can also be imbued by druids; fire opals (Solusek Ro)are imnbued by wizards. Fused dragon crystals (Veeshan) which currently don't work in anything imbued except Qeynos human cultural armor, are made by taking a fire dragon crystal, ice dragon crystal, earth dragon crystal, and wind dragon crystal (all foraged in Skyfire Mountains) and combining them in a kiln, trivs about 31 pottery.
Edit: Updated, corrected, and clarified some stuff above.
Probably would go for 2k on the average, though that price seems to be dropping, saw for for 1200 in the Bazaar recently. Seeing golden idol's, besides Tunare's, for sale in the Bazaar is pretty rare, you would usually have to find a skilled potter and commision one (likely would have to provide the imbued gem for the appropriate deity as well).
That'll be quite expensive; considering the cost of the ingredients and the high triv rate I'd imagine these would go for at least 2k a piece. But if you can affors it, go for it! For the shaman though, would only get him two, leave a slot open for a weapon, you'll need it at lower levels.
