Stats for Freeport and Qeynos armor sets
# Jul 18 2003 at 2:11 AM Rating: Excellent
The following are the stats on the Freeport and Qeynos wiz/mag/enc human newbie armor sets.

Freeport:
str: 3
dex: 3
sta: 0
agi: 1
wis: 0
int: 6
cha: 9
hp: 10
mp: 35
ac: 20
weight: 8.3

Qeynos:
str: 0
dex: 1
sta: 0
agi: 2
wis: 0
int: 12
cha: 17
hp: 0
mp: 10
ac: 20
weight: 9.0

As you can see, Qeynos armor peices have much higher int and charisma scores. However, upon careful consideration of how the sets are actually "newbie" armor sets, one can find that the Freeport newbie armor can actually be better.

Freeport:
hp: +10
mp: +35

Qeynos:
hp: +0
mp: +10

As you can see, the Freeport newbie armor has much higher hp and mp stats. This means that they are actually quite balanced. However, at higher levels, due to the fact that the Qeynos armor does not have a set amount of hp and mp additions, unlike the Freeport, you will most likely be given better +mp and +hp.

The +cha on the Qeynos armor set is almost double that of the +cha on the Freeport armor. So I suggest for an enchanter to get the Qeynos armor. On the other hand, Freeport armor is better for Wizards and Magicians, because the mana you get from the Freeport armor is better at lower levels.

Hope this helps =P

Lv. 8?

You don't have to be level 8, just be high nuff to kill gnoll scouts, got all 3 pages off um, so you might be able to do it at lower lvs.

It's a nice weapon, yes. Now learn to use it. My best friend in the game is a Cleric. Together we are maxing out my Peircing, 1hb, offense, defense, and Dodge. How? Like this, we find a safe enough spot and I pull animals (nothing with posion or othere effects please) that cones light blue to me and go at them with melee combat. When I get low in HP, he heals me right up. In one night, I raised every one of those skills dramatically. The net result? I am MUCH harder to hit. Peircing and 1hb will max out at 110. Off and Def at 100 and Dodge at 75.

Being hit less means less damage taken, and less spell inturruptions becuase of being hit. Will you be able to slay things with melee? Only if it's green. But it will give you SUCH an edge in the higher levels. By the end of the training, I was being hit a third of the time then when we started. My attack went from 150 to 260.

I'm level 24 and so is my friend the cleric. We picked EK (I know are you insane?) near the Gorge opening and I pulled gorge hounds with a simple spell and then battled it out.

If you want to be the best spellcaster, do this before you reach 30, the earlier the better. And make sure what ever healer you do this with you can have a conversation with, cuase it is a long process and ver very boring.

My friend, btw is a battle cleric and fights, he doesn't sit there and jsut heal, he is the best Cleric I have ever seen. So if you can't find a cleric that can heal you and take care of add, bring a fighter to.

im sure mr. meleeing caster and mr. battle cleric have lots of fun together... but they would probably waste everybody else's time in a real group.

yeah, God forbid anyone might have some real fun or role play in EQ. People are starting to play EQ like it was an actuarial spreadsheet.
Geez, it's a game folks

Did he say he was meleeing while in a group?
Is there a maximum number of skills you can level up?
Is being interuptted less a bad thing?

Surely lvling as many skills as possible can only help, whether in a group or soloing?

Just my thoughts on the subject.

Well then, your friend won't be finding too much Clerical work in the future. Sure, everyone loves a cleric in the group, but before long he'll ruin his rep by being a "battle cleric". And by the way, Piercing, 1HB, Offense/Defence, etc... don't max out at those levels.

Maybe you should check out EQ.Castersrealm.com and look at the Skill Caps for a Wizard.
1hb, 2hb, and Piercing max out at 110.

Same ratio as a giant snake fang. Not a bad dagger, but there have been better newbie quests.

Hehe, yeah, but a caster melee wilowisps? That'll be a bold move, but, hey, I guess you could! When they're running, would save some mana =)

For the younger adventurers seeing this, this weapon doesn't have bonus damage on it, ignore the picture, that's just the holder's personal bonus damage.

Hey, the dagger graphic there looks a lot better than your average snake fang! (but not mine, I polished it).

Hugs all!

I had done the quest for the pure purpose of doing it. What can I say? I was curious. The damage bonus in the pic is for a 36 RNG (which cannot use it).

my untwinked chanter meleed up until about 20, that extra damage goes a long way esp if it gets the mob running quicker, and since int casters need the concordance of reserch to be able to get taht extra damage on the wilowisps is is awsome for an untwinked char, tho theses quests are a bit ridiculous in some of their requirements ie rarety of the mobs and grr they dont drop anything alotta of the time
