This, IMO (and only IMO) is best as a Chanter or Necro Robe. Why? HP/Mana/FT/AC/CHA (for charms). On a wizard, half of the stats would go to waste. The only thing they worry about is Mana and FT. IF the wizzy knows how to play his class, he won't need the HP/AC because he won't be getting summoned and whatnot. CHA for a wizzy? /laugh
Oh, and my wizzy is Vex Thal keyed, so I can say that hehe
Oh, and BTW, Wizzie gets spells to buff hig MR/CR/FR/DR/PR Via (Shielding/Elemental Armor/Resistant Skin line of spells). Epic + Greater Familiar = FT7 and better with AA's.
So tell me, then, which high end robes out there don't have any hp, ac or cha that wouldn't "go to waste" on a wizard?
The fact that necros and chanters need extra stats from a wizard should not instantly disqualify wizards from a chance at loot that has any stats those classes need.
i would say hes correct on that it should go to one of them being the fact that wizzys use cha for nothing but they could still benefit from robe just alot less.
AC 35 STA: +15 CHA: +40 INT: +10 HP: +100 MANA: +100 ALL SAVES: +15 Recommended level of 60. Effect: Flowing Thought I Focus Effect: Alluring Preservation Int casters only.
The focus effect is 15 percent mana preservation on detrimental spells (e.g. nukes, mezzes, charms, slow, cripple, etc.).
I have many points I wish to share with you all. If you want to flame me, fine, I will provide enough information for anyone who wants to come to my server and tell me to ?$$% Off.
1) Whatever the stats on a god damn item, if it says a Warrior can use this or that, he has the right to ask for it. Still, one gotta observe NBG.
2) NO DROP sucks, period. I am lvl 57 right now, 3/4 of my gear is no drop. When I get a better, let's say, robe, I will be stuck with2 robes, right? And I would hate to destroy my Dreamweaver Robe. Even tho the stats are not all that good, still pretty rare. Verant should make NO DROP items droppable. Then again, Verant should make those items UN-EQUIPPABLE by those under a certain level.
3) Related to point 2. : EQ is all about self accomplishment, team play, advancement. Well, the gathering of PP is advancement in itself, well, I like to have a nice bank account (who doesn't?). So the point is, when you are lvl 60 and all the stuff you get is NO DROP, it kinda sucks. One should be able to get rid of his No Drop stuff.
4) One way to make this possible, Upon trading a No Drop item, Verant should make it so the stats are lowered, like 20% off the initial stats, so trying to go for the real thing would still be tempting. Oh well, I must be bored. Thats what I wanted to say.
5) Last thing, I hate Droods!...
For those who want to flame me, you can reach me there:
Mortiss Coldhearted lvl 57 Defiler Server: XEV
I will be on mostly on week nights and during all week ends. I have a TELLs window up at all time, so if I am AFK feel free to flame/talk to me, I will eventually return the tells. Thanks for reading.
About selling stuff: after a VT raid I went to BOT. Want a nice bank account? In 1 1/2 hour about:
Staff of flowing water Spectral Parchiment Glyphed Rune Word
This dropped. Staff - 100kpp spec good for 25k and shrug about the rune. W/o the rune, 125,000PP dropped for people capable of VT... Now $40irl(though I dont ebay I looked this up) is about = 10,000pp... About $500 worth of items dropped for two people(one ran bots) in 1 1/2 hours.
Money useless to buy anything inside of EQ except for a few rare items on my server for Wizards.
No flaming. I dont agree with you on the majority of your points...but one thing I have to say I support fully! I ALSO HATE DROODS! DROODS GO HOME! DROODS PANSY %&(" WOOD ELFS! Phew....id had to come out SOMETIME.... :)

I do charm with 40 chr / 252 chr doesn't make a difference. Charm yes. 60 = HP > all. This robe has no HP 15sta is around 30hp or so. FT1 is way to ez to get theres much better out there Especialy from VT. 10int for VT is joke. 15svall ~ where a Wyvern robe if you need reists. 50ac ~ only ok stat out there. 40chr. I hit 252 self buffed. Why verdant put this POS robe in this zone makes me wonder. Ok you need to kill Emeror to get there. (Drops a better robe) Spend enought time in 10 zone around luclin collecting shards for along period of time. Then you adventualy have enough people able to go there and you get loot that noone will where. This is a waist of inventory from this zone. Slap 100hp/mana and I would use this robe in a heart beat. /rant off

Man, I don't think there is but two robes that are even debatably better for an enchanter in the entire game. The reason for this one being so strong a candidate is the 50 ac primary, and nearly matching charisma to boot. I'm sorry you don't notice a difference with charm, but you definately should notice on other things. I mean, its the difference between Shock of Ice and Garrison's Superrior Saundering. I know I would want this even as a wizard... however I would insure all my enchanters have this before me. AND 10 int = mana and 15 to the resists, can't go too wrong there. However, the FT1 is the clincher. Enchanters are all about mana. If thier oom, thier useless.
Maybe you forgot something very important on your post.... Any caster that is OOM is useless. Just because an item has FT of any lvl doesnt mean its for a specific class, unless it is only wearable by that class.
I usually don't post about who gets what but you're just plain ignorant snook.
Chanters dont use mana like wizzys when raiding? LOL you must never have played a chanter. Rediculous. Try buffing 20 melee with haste and GRM. Add to that people dying and refreshing KEI every so often. Add in constant tash, cripple, slow and torment. Add in 700 mana charms and 300 mana mezzes, boggle for 250 and arcane rune for 400 and I think you get the picture. Chanters chew thru mana so much faster than wizards it's insane.
Oh ya, and guess what? The raid don't move when the chanters are OOM, but it just keeps on chuggin if there's a wizzy cryin OOM. Why? Cuz you got 40 other damage dealers there, but only a few crowd controllers.
I play a wizzy and a chanter both (2box), and my wizzy is ALWAYS waiting for my chanter to get mana. Wizards already have FT 14 innate (do the math with familiar, harvest and pop harvest - i have) add to that KEI, c5 or whatever (chanters get NO self mana regen like most caster classes do btw - and crack dont count as self cuz everyones got that). 100% of the time, I would give this to my chanter over my wizard.
That said, this (and any other item) goes to the person who contributes most to the guild or has more dkp points, period. Kick *** robe.
50ac on a robe is nice.. but there are others out there that also have 50ac that could be gotten at the lvl and guild needed to take out VT mobs. That said, would make an okay chanter robe, nice high cha and decent resists. The +sta on it will give some hp and the +int will boost mana a little bit but sure wish Verant had put some pure +hp or +mana on it.
I'm a 54th level wizard but if this robe dropped, I'd pass my roll to the enchanter without a doubt. That Charisma is crazy! And with that AC? How many planar raids have you been to where the chanter gets smushed to tiny bits from casting a slow? This is without a doubt an enchanter robe. Anybody who wants this robe for a running around buying things robe, can stuff it. Youre keeping an enchanter from a very very nice item.
People are complaining that its only FT1. /bog? This robe is fantastic.
Chnater robe / running around town buying supplies robe thats a fat char bump, and it will save you pp on most purchases ie my chanter pays about 10pp fer a invis potion ( i alays keep one handy, as its instant cast) my ranger pays about 12pp and my cleric gets his holy mand discount of 14pp now take gems for spells, if you have that smae differential on oh say peridots that can be a 40 pp difference, and on expensive stuff ove 50 pp the gap usually gets bigger, my rangers price quote ofr the cheapes horse 10.7k my chants got a discounted price of 8.6k. okay enough with shopping benifits,.. okay take a 24 chanter buy him two of the +25 cha stiens their like 100pp now on xegony.. then go spend an hour mezzing charming various mobs wiht out the stiens, now put the stiens on and repeat for an hour.. notice how yer spell stick so much longer? when i bought my chanter a pair of those stiens i added minutes to my mez and charms it was almost hindering me cuz i was so used to the previous charasma. since the mez's and charms were lasting longer cuz the mobs had difficulty checking agains my new charisma. im still drooling/waiting to get my chanter the robe from katta off nathan +100 charisma,. sure it sucks cuz no saves but think about it. two +25 stiens, one +100 cha chest base cha of about 90 and chanter buff that gives cha of about 20,.. 255 cha is attained with only 3 items,. leave all yer other slots to dump yer cha/int gear and get int/mana/save gear,,
Anyways, from what the dificulty sounds like in getting here, this robe does seem to lack some high end features 8)
I'm sorry Hionadue, but Mez spells' durations aren't affected by your Charisma. All of them are fixed duration spells. Only the initial resist check when you cast it is affected by Charisma.
You're absolutely right about Charms lasting longer and Mez's being resisted less though.

Posted:Jul 01 2002 at 4:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hmm.. this item just doesn't seem on par with other stuff out of VT... especially with zero man, only 10 int and FT1, i mean... if it had FT3 or higher i could see the balance, but /boggle... I guess the 40Cha balances it some though, allthough most chanters I know debate the charisma topic... as well as necro's
As a necro, cha dosn't interest me even in the slightest. This robe wouldn't interest me at all, either. Vex Thal seems to have a number of caster robes with atypical caster stats. This isn't amasing but seems like it would appeal to a chanter most. There is a robe with awsome health on it that, again, dosn't have amasing stats due to the completely lack of int/mana but it appeals mainly to necros.
