This would make for a great quest if you could do it in the mid-late 20s and it was no drop (so it wouldn't be twinked down to the teens like most armor in reality is)
Quest fixed
# Mar 17 2003 at 9:29 AM Rating: Decent
This quest is now fixed!
Bolli needs a Mark of Seduction, not a Mark of Stealth. It is found of a Stealthy Horror in Mons Letalis

The Mark of Stealth is required for the Waistband - which has also been fixed finally (Liteema erroneously stated she required the Mark of Silence)

Quest Broken on Torv
# Oct 24 2002 at 10:55 AM Rating: Decent
I've been trying to complete this quest for at least 4 months now and have petitioned > 7 times about Bolli not accepting the mark of stealth for this quest ( but he'll gladly eat your other items! ) He keeps telling me "I cannot use this, you may have it back". Has any other server had this problem? I've lost the jewel, statue, and leash the first time around, and have since collected another set.. but still can't get him to take the mark. Really pisses me off I can't get any GM assistance on this and that it has been broken for so long.

Same thing happened to me last night... I was doing the quest for my lowbie rogue and the NPC munched all the items but rejected the mark of stealth. Oh well... Smiley: disappointed
I wish I wouldv'e seen the stats

I wish I wouldv'e seen the stats before I hand wrote everything I needed down and got half the items I needed!Smiley: madRaven scale is better and takes alot less time and energy to accuire. Why would they make such cheesy gear so hard to get if you want grouping and fun for something worth it Velious is where to go! (my first rant)

UMM HELLO you are a rogue ac shouldnt be a big deal we are not tanks or pullers or the main attraction we are the bastards who kill from shadows and attack from behind so str is one of our goals i dumped ravenscale items i had at 32 and am trying to hock em all just because the str was crap

When Luclin was introduced Cazic Thule was the place to get Ravenscale. The BP was a rare drop off a 40 MOB deep in the zone. After CT was buffed and the Ravenscale started dropping outside the armor was easier to come by. Prior to CT being changed the TS armor was easier to get. Now, you are right. The AC is less than Ravenscale but the stat buffs are a lot better. They parse out about equal from where I am standing.
What can I say?

I am far from Uber and before the Twilight Quests I never did any quest. But I've got a 55 druid that could still get exp on the way to collecting these quest pieces. Whether you think this gear stinks or not (it's a matter of perspective) I've found that the major key to completing these things is to establish a trading network with other people doing the quests. If you check the Twilight Sea message boards at EZboard.com (the quest board is called Btwilightexchange) you'll see that us folks on Xegony have FAR more posts of trade lists, grouping offers, etc. than any other servers. As a result I've complete 17 or 18 pieces so far. I do it for the fun and the challenge. The best pieces seem to be the chest pieces and some of them, like the wiz robe, have some pretty snazzy graphics. I just completed this rogue chest last night and haven't had the chance to put it on my rogue yet. Please don't call me stupid or flame me for doing these quests. I just want to point out that they CAN be fun and sociable quests and that if I, without a guild, planes gear, or any other special goodies can complete nearly 20 of these things, still getting exp on the way, then I'm sure a lot more of you can too. One thing though, the posts about needing a tracker are VERY true. I admit it's not fair to non-tracking classes but you're going to be miserable trying to find all this stuff without one.
OK then

In actuality, depending on who you ask, everything is useless. I've been told 100 different things including: "AC is useless for a Rogue - HP is useless for a Rogue (can get a symbol) - Stats are useless to a Rogue (Any good shaman can hook you up) - Resists are useless (buffs again)" I have heard all of this, but I do know, AC is not useless. If we look at barbed ringmail over this, that 13ac difference turns into what? 25 or more AC with regards to defense? I'd say that's significant and I'll take that over a few paltry resists and agi anyday, and although I do like the DEX, the AC difference coupled with the appearent difficulty of questing this armor makes it less and less appealing when compared to buyable armors such as Barbed Ringmail.
Hmph
# Jun 28 2002 at 5:44 PM Rating: Good
Imagine that, a disappointment. 45th level to attain, and the AC isn't that great. Nice stats (STR and DEX), but I'm assuming there's a hefty workload at hand to obtain this item.

Save your money and get some Barbed Ringmail.

I'm thinking this is more a "look what I did/fill-in/pass down to twink" armor.

Anyone else have a opinion?

You just figured out that the TS quested armor is for the most part disappointing? there are few pieces that are worth doing, but most yield pieces less than spectacular for the level you need to complete it safely. Add to that the fact that you can find better or equal at earlier level. Oh well at least it fits right in with 90% of the quests. I always wondered, seeing on how this game focuses on grouping and questing, why is it there are no quests where the entire group gets an award? i meane the other 5 players who helped with a difficult quest deserve some reward for thier risk too...wait, what am i saying? Quest actually worth doing by groups? people will start grouping just to run a quest! players might have fun grouping for quest and adventure instead of XP. And we can't have that, it wouldn't be the EQ we all know and love.
I must disagree

Sorry to say Rollander, this thing blows the Barbed ringmail tunic out of the water. AC isn't hugely important for a rogue, Unless you plan on soloing (which is damn hard to do as a rogue). Stats on this BP are above. Only thing the Barbed really beats this out on is the AC (Useless) and HPs (Barbed has +50). This has ONE less str than the barbed, with the addition of DEX and Agi, as well as resists.

Blows the barbed ringmail out the water? You do know that you're a moron, right?

Mail of Concealment
AC: +17 Str: +8 Agi: +3 Dex: +5 Magic Resist: +2 Fire Resist: +2 Cold Resist: +2 HP: +25

Barbed Ringmail:
AC: 30 STR: 9 HP: 50

13 more ac, 25 more HP > 3agi 5dex 2 magic/fire/cold

End.

I don't like to get involved in these for the most part useless debates, but the Twilight quests for armor are all pretty useless. And as to Barbed vs. this junk. Well I think I summed that up. This junk pretty much applies to 90% of the Twilight armors... Sad as that is...

To tell the truth, most people don't like having to collect a ton of items just so they can have stats that are slightly higher they have currently.

Due to twinking and item deflation, these quests will never be popular with players. They're just too much of a time sink.
RE: I must disagree
# Jun 29 2002 at 9:55 AM Rating: Good
That coupled with the fact that you need a tracker of some sort to effectively hunt for 90% of the items dropped. What a crock of ****, I play on Tallon Zek and the dark team has no trackers whatsoever! Fargin Verant!

I think these quests are great. I can have my lvl 53 Druid get okay xp in these zones, with few if any, other players camping and make a good couple hundred pp off of each armor piece. You have to think of EQ as a giant market place, where your particular skills and specializations allow you to excel in the world :) Each zone and each quest will allow different toons to acheive them at different levels of difficulty. Where as I (druid) may not be able to tank and slay that uber mob, I can collect, harvest, port and complete quests at a faster rate; which allows me to then have bartering tools to obtain the items that I want. Just a little thought from your neighborhood friendly druid.
