I have one and a Scythe of Sundering in main hand. The effect is now Burning Affliction 4, so you won't have to bug the mages for a Rallican's anymore. Oddly enough I have seen a necro carrying TWO of these. They are No Drop, but they are not Lore. The effect doesn't stack and cause double the affliction bonus, but the HP are nice enough.
To anyone who said it's a crappy weapon, well ESAD. Until you get your Miragul's Robe with the 30% damage focus from Vengeance of Eternity, this is probably one of the best necro items around pre-Time. It has HP, STA, mana, +12 to all resists, int if you still need and BA4. When I got this I was able to free up a type 2 augmentation slot and get another resist aug instead of my Bloodied Stone of Vengeance aug. You can use in primary or offhand, AND you can cart 2 around!
It might be EASIER to get Saryrn's Miserable bauble earring than it is to get this, since you go through an annoying timesink to get this, but I am not sorry I camped those damn shards for my VT key. A VERY nice weapon indeed.

Now I am nowhere near the level needed to get this, but it seems to me that it would work great alongside an item that grants Burning Affliction. Make all those Dots not only do more damage faster, but last longer as well. Perhaps not raid quality gear, but useful for normal use, especially for a DoT heavy class. This is, however, only an opinion.
All effects that granted extended affliction (regardless of name) have had their effect changed to burning affliction. In this case of this item, the name wasn't changed, though the effect was. So, this item does not grant extended duration on dots, just more damage per tick. There is an LDoN aug with an effect called Extended Torment, that acts as 10% extended duration for all detrimental spells (with a particular base duration, I think 30 seconds).

There are other items in VT that act like the old Extended Affliction and they do stack with this item :-)
As well as the Aug that grants "Extended Torment" available in MMC for 1450 pts.

Accursed extension and other affliction foci no longer work on roots or mezzes, they have not for quite some time. And for the record, its 20% longer duration to dots, look on lucy.fnord.net

Shields? Shield of auras. Primary? Primaries suck in ssra for casters. SolR makes a great primary for a guild just entering VT, or a secondary for someone who has a rune click from another item, and thus doesn't really need a shield of auras.

With the new stats, this item is now quite nice for chanter among others. With 125 HP and 15 STA, it added 164 to my HP. +12 to all saves. The 12 INT took me up to my current cap of 280. But the real reason I equipped it...Accursed Extension adds +15% to all harmful spells, namely debuffs, slows, dots, stuns, and MEZZES.
Pet trash? not quite...
As for getting it...well you need to kill the Emp to complete your VT Key to even get to the mob that drops this, so it took a bit of work.

This isn't about the stats. It's a goofy fun item for people who can't duel wield to pretend like they can. It's not raid gear by any stretch of the imagination.
Except it looks like a book on the end of a stick.
If it looks like a staff and not that little pencil thingy people run around with that would look sweet on a caster. however if this is an upgrade for you your prolly in DL exp'ing.
If you take the stats of the item itself, yeah it is a nice item. If you take in to account where it drops and what stats your character needs to have to get to Vex Thal, it probably isn't worth it. Now if it had resists, then I could see it having more of an attraction. I think most 60 level characters who can go to Vex Thal would likely already have something better in secondary slot.
This item is pet trash, nuff said

Sorry Hardor, but Psychox was 100% correct. This item is a piece of ****. FoH acually destroyed this when it dropped because of how much it sucks. As a matter of fact, it is worse than an OoIV, which sells daily for 20kpp.
It doesnt suck at all. Nice ac and good caster stats for an offhand item. Sure its required level of 60 but Im positive there are some people out there who this would be an upgrade for.
Granted, it would look much better with some saves, but Not every item needs to be super uber that drops. Im tired of people complaining if an item isnt +10 damage over the delay with +100 to everystat and save and have right click instant complete heal

This guy is a total fool.
Need to remove his Scholar title so people won't absorb his complete understanding of a fairly simple game without apprehense.
I'm tired of people who have no clue acting like they are in a position to judge something they are absolutely ignorant about.
