The struggle has been great, much more challenging than I had first expected. The power here is erratic. It surges unpredictably and has caused unpredictable results with newer generations of sarnak. Too many have perished. Our numbers shrink. I may have to cease attempting improvements on then until they have had a chance to grow their numbers and I can find a way to improve my control over this magic.
It occurs to me now that much time must have passed since my last entry. As usual, my work absorbs me. Time, after all, is meaningless to one such as I. I will break through and master this magic soon enough, I am confident.
