Ruins of Kunark
SO... I go back for revenge as i find myself running through SONH for Fun...These con Green to lvl 74.. and are easily necro soloable at this level. They DO Summon... but don't hit as hard as I remember from when i tried them last (What Char or level, I have no idea) They all Did resist my highest lvl poison dot, but that was about all, so wouldn't reccomend a grp or lower lvl player using poison on em... mebbe will go back and try disease... see if a shaman is completely ruled out for soloing em... (Kinda like the undeads in Veksar. They didnt resist Drain Life or Ashengate pyre, Which is all I used.. Along with pet.

These do indeed summon after a bit of dmg is done to them.

Posted: Oct 11 2002 at 10:01 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Stop worrying about what the mob drops. Grab ppl, go kill em. You die, so be it, rez up and try again. EQ is not all about loot, it's about accomplishments. Then you might find a nice surprise after you kill them ravegers...
Relative to the difficulty, anyway. If this dropped off of a level 30 mob, everybody would be saying how great a piece of gear it is. But by the time you have even a snowball's chance in Hell of killing these things, you're sure to have much better.

In my opinion when trying for an item one must weigh up the pros and cons.

- Almost all mobs above level 54 or so summon. Get used to it.

Since PoP, level doesnt have much to do with the ability to summon. in first EQ, nothing but dragons summoned. then Planes went live, stuff there summoned as well.
In Kunark, everything 50+ summoned
in Velious, already the first level 61 mobs that didnt summon were spotted (ice burrowers)
in Luclin, some stuff blue to 40 summoned
and in PoP, level 65 quad kite redcons in elemental planes that do not summon, while in Tier1 planes almost everything past level 55 summons.
In Kunark, everything 50+ summoned

Don't forget the little level 6 Named Scorpion in the Kitty City pit, he summons also! =)

I have run into these things on numerous occasions in different places (mainly near the zone to Traknon's Teeth) and they ALL Quad fer around 250 ..... henceforth me lil cleric **** RUNS!!

Don't bother hunting for these things, just go scrounge some money and buy something better or do some quest elsewhere. Not worth having to form a 55+ group just for this...and then "maybe" surviving to get one.
I don't think anyone would form a 55+ group just to kill these things to get the cloak, but if your happen to have a 55+ group there helping a druid with his or her epic, I say go for it. It'll make for a good campfire story to tell the newbies.
