AM3 and EQ

Yes, I'm only 57. No, I dont have these AAs. My archery is capped for my level and using a Re-curved Velium bow, Fleeting Quiver and Summoned Arrows I still manage to get some fairly respectable crits when I disc TS. They aren't 4 digit crits only between 200 and 500 but I get a couple everytime. Looking forward to the AAs and seeing exactly what Sillipuss is talking about. Sill you're just too uber for me =P

and i don't no how u got up to 500 which i got 586 the other day with no am just eq but now since i got am1 i wonder if it would go higher but just pondering how the heck u got 500 ....
great for SK's

Honestly by the time your guild is able to get this bow your rangers will most like pass on it as mine did. I am an SK with 75 in archery (maxed for my class) and was rewarded this bow for the STATS not for the dmg/delay. It replaced my idol of the thorned nicely and I am very glad there are much better out there for our damage dealing AM3 rangers ;)
Just a few passing thoughts

Aloha and well met

Just a few passing thoughts on this lovely bow. This is a great bow for Rangers, but by the time that you are able to get this bow, your guild ought to be able to secure you one of the other better bows.

Without going into the in-depth ranger discussion on situational useage, you will most likly find that the Bow of Doom, or your primal/priceless bow to be better suited to the EQ+AM ranger. Consider passing on this bow and allowing another class loot the bow.

Naturally every ranger wants the bow of storms, but few of us will ever weild such a fine bow.

Best wishes in your hunts
More HPs than primal

This bow has more HPs than primal or bow of Doom. Essential for the warrior that tags all the time.

/agree rollan.

Rangers probably have a better bow by the time their guild can kill this guy, but the non-rangers probably don't. Warriors, pallys, SKs can put their Grodan's idol away and have an easier time pulling. 70 HPs in your range slot isnt too bad.
risk vs reward

considering this mob isn't a huge burden to spawn or kill, the damage, delay, range, and stats on the bow are what should be expected (and aren't too shabby :D).

If you've ever killed this guy, You know it can be quite atricky fight, so the rewards should be special, The stats are nice. But almost all of our guild rangers have primal bows. With a better dmg/dly ratio this bow would be great, But i think VI should have slapped a more reasonable dmg/dly on it.

I agree that this bow could be better, but indeed the GCS is not very hard to take down. What is more worrying is the utter lack of any good bows out there. Primal seems to be the standard in the end-game, with the AoW bow coming in as a rather abject disappointment. The Doom bow was gnarly, till it got the nerf-bat. Since bow damage is HIGHLY situational, it would be cool to see some really godly bows in the hands of our little green treehuggers.

i disagree.

if the primal bow is your only primal, then i would say use it till it procs .. but in the endgame hp is #1, resists being #2 (even lower in some situations). this is 70hp 10sta, primal is 50hp 5sta. therefor, if you have other primal, i would much rather slap this in my range purely for stats. For people who dont crit on bows the way rangers do, or get endless quiver either, this would be a very nice bow to use for stats (how many roags do you know who sit around shooting arrows on raids?)

As a ranger, about the last thing that I would call this bow is sucky. AC great stats superior damage/delay great resists. I'd be rolling for this in a heartbeat. Now if my guild will ever go there is another question entirely. It surely puts my shaped darkwood compound bow to shame.

As a ranger of level 54 you wouldn't call this bow sucky. Get to 60, kill him, then post please.

Oh, so in order to have an opinion about this bow, you have to be level 60?

Exactly, because untill 60 you wont understand exactly what kind of damage you can do with a bow at level 60 w/ AA points. ;)
RE: Longbow
# Aug 09 2002 at 12:04 PM Rating: Decent
Don't have to be 60 to have an opinion OR have AA points..... granted you have to be 59 to use class AA.

and if you look closely... the first post said " the last thing i would call this bow is sucky" so incase you dont uderstand that... it means he thinks its good... *********
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 21 2002 at 12:33 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this is an ok bow, not great but not bad either, personaly i have at least 4 bows in the bank and i equip a primal bow, but if you cant get porimal this is close to being the next best thing or you could try the bow of doom same dam/delay as primal with some stats being better and some not as good, but over all this is a nice bow.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 20 2002 at 5:22 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this thing sucks compared to War Bow of Rallos Zek.....
RE: sucks
# Jun 20 2002 at 6:49 PM Rating: Default
I certainly would'nt say that it sucks, but I would say that your opinion sucks Baidieneriy.
Gimme a break...
If you've even ever seen a War Bow of Rallos Zek(I think most of us here will be of the opinion that you HAVE'NT), perhaps your statement might illicit some degree of consideration, but it does not I'm afraid.
Fact is, this is one sweetheart of a bow for ANY archer, if you can't decerne that fact, than you have no reason to post.
This bow rocks. Period.

Also comes off a mob significantly easier (and more fun, imho) than the Avatar of War, who drops the War Bow.

It's good reward for the effort.

I wouldn't quite say it sucks...not as good as War Bow of Rallos Zek, true, but it certainly doesn't 'suck' compared to it.
Hmm...

I shall call it: "Mini-Primal"
