Foreman Gworknop
# Dec 27 2005 at 6:46 AM Rating: Decent
Does anyone have any information regarding the statement made above that this item is "dropped by Foreman Gworknop in the Ring Event"?? I've only been in AC a few times and don't recall a ring event, also mob named Foreman Gworknop isn't even listed in the Bestiary. This would be a great 2hb for me as I am a bard and we are very restricted to which 2 handed weapons we can use. About 5 in the entire game with stats of any kind (+20hps maybe) and pretty much only this one with any decent stats. If anyone can shed any light on this I would be greatly chuffed. Also, I am curious if this is a raid event/mob. Thanks very much.

Would like to know how hard this baby hits if anyone knows please.
I assume you could crit for 600 or so with this?
I know I crit for close to 400 with my 35 Dam wepon and about 250 with 1hs. Have been hit by a warr in the Arena for over 500 (he was wielding a windblade)
If youve seen info please let me know :o)

im a monk and would kill for this item... in a situation where the mob has a dmg shield one as a monk would love to hit slower and harder, the faster you hit the mob, the faster you kill yourself at the same time, so why not just take the time and just land a few jucy 400+ blows on the mob instead of 8 15-35 blows with a jade mace, i mean c'mon with 21 or 22% haste that an average monk w/out epic would make this item a 53dmg/35dly not including the haste that enchanters/bards give ya.

Would like to point out, yer not gona land any hits for 400 with this unless you have combat fury and get lucky.

Hardest i ever hit with Tantors tusk whish is 50/60 was for 300... and that was with 1300 attack.

But your logic is good...

perhaps you hit for 300 with a 50/60 weapon but thats just cuz you level 5... I have been hit with primal for about 330 and that is a 45 dmg weapon with less delay. With avatar proc up this baby would give ya around 400dmg no doubts.

I was looking for a good 2hblunt weapon and I guess I found, lol. I also never used 2hblunt weapons untill about I was lvl 40. My first 2hblunt was a Drakkel Forge sledge hammer. Was pretty decent and my skill did go up. Then I bought a silver etched warhammer for 200pp. My 2hblunt skill is now 143. I'm currently looking for a 2hblunt weapon that does at least 30dmg or more. This is what I found on this site wich I hope to get my hands on either of them:

Sarnak battelhammer
30/40
Fungus Coated Tarmak staff
30/45
disease dmg:7
svd:25
Goranga Hammer
38/49
ac4, str5, svd3

If your selling any of these or another 2hblunt weapon that does at least 30dmg or more, send me a tell if your on the erollisi marr server.

If you want a decent 2HB for a Warrior (around 4k on Tarew Marr) I would Suggest a Truncheon of Doom.
33/44 procs a slow (30-50% slow depending on level)

:)

Well, I didn't train my 2hb until level 51. I had some skill points in the bank, so I went and trained it up to 45 pts. Then went to Cazic and asked the group if I could bang on their monsters to get my 2HB up. They said sure. In about an hour and a half with efreeti ice staff, I went from 45 to 122 (no experience for me, but great skill ups). Not awesome, but never too late. Gonna try and max it this way. Remember, try to make sure you're in a zone that has yellow and red MOB's. Your skills pop faster.

Get an abandoned orc shovel. Its a ground spawn in lake rathe, and has very low delay for 2hb. Get in a friendly group, let them know you are practicing, and switch to the shovel. Your skill will rise quickly, although the damage you contribute to the group will be minimal.

/agree

My warrior NEVER used any piercing or 1hb weapons. Then at 35 I got a shimmering partisan. So went with guildies to ToFS and got me two of the really fast shadow piercers from there and started dual wielding. Within 2 levels my piercing was at 200. Then at 45 I got a Goranga Spiked Club. Put it in my main hand and just warned the group my damage was gonna suck for a while. Now im 48 and my 1hb is at 198.

Hardest to recover from are 2h weapons because A) you can't dual wield em and B) they usually have a slower delay. For 2hb get yourself a mithril staff (drops from Goblin in Warsliks Woods I think, Grachnist the Destroyer) it is great damage and fairly quick. For 2hs get a mithril 2hs from LGuk (frenzied ghouls I think). It is 21/40 but has permanent haste (so what you lose in damage you will make up for a bit by kicking/bashing faster). With haste works out to be like a 21/28 weapon (and buff hastes DO stack with it).

Well actually as an SK I got a Sword of Pain at level 26 so up until level 50 or so I never even touched a 2hs until I found this sweet blade called a Nathsar Greatsword 17/30 10str is FAST like one of the fastest delay 2hs in the game I think it IS the fastest delay actually haha. And it was MEGA cheap got it for like 100pp in the Bazaar already at 193 in like about 1 hour with a Shaman and Enchanter in my group =). You guys who dont got 2hs should try it. And for sure get that one Abandoned Orc Shovel laying on the ground in Lake Rathe its the easiest way to get 2hb up too which I had zero in until about 2 hours after I got it haha already at 201 heh.

in alot fo the higher end luclin encounters were discoverin that for non main tanks 2h weapon are doing more dps than 1handers do to mobs procing or having traps that lower melle skills and insane ac . reason for 2hdoing more dmg is the higher mimimun hits

I hate to ask this, considering the flames against silly "monk item" comments, but would a monk use this? Damn nice weapon, mildly slow, but heavy. The slowness can be corrected with haste, but a monk would be doing some silly damage with this.

Also, how fun would it be to see a paly, SK, or bard wielding one of these :) Not that a bard would get to loot it... BUT, they CAN train 2hb at a trainer, just cant raise it through using the weapon, so any bard with 100 or so training points floating about could get their 2hb skill up to a reasonable level.

+8 all stats, + to a couple of saves, and some nice hp - definitely grats to whoever gets it.

Don't know of much uber people that would use this item... For sure don't know of any uber monks that would use this item.. 1 hand > 2 hand any way you put it.

"1 hand > 2 hand any way you put it"

Shows how little you know man. If you use 1h slashers during PvP you can COUNT on going on a CR if the person has any skill and is in same level range is you. You have to remove dmg fast or casters will eat you up...the fight wont last 5 mins and allow you to get in alot of damage over time...fast is the name of the game. I have killed over 400 lights using nothing but a weighted axe and a babs! 1h slashers are good for aggro control until you reach the higher end game and get some really nice ones coupled with haste.
I would put money on the person using this item in a PvP fight than a person using any sort of 1h slashers, hell I know folks who would kill for something like this. On a pvp server this thing would be more than a toy...it would see great usage!!

hehe... there are some 2hbs that rule

I needed a trip to bind point so i ran into arena in bazaar naked and asked for a pummeling, with 1300 hps naked and unbuffed id figure id be there a good 20 seconds or so...

3 secs later i see Now Loading.....

A monk was hitting me for 200+ and high of 400 some....

and quick got off like 8 swings in a few seconds(he missed and i parried once)
Graneted he probably had dragon haste and what not... but that was some mean damage... Id hate ot be the tank trying to taunt off him. I asked what he hit mobs for generally, he said 500ish...

Perhaps the tables are different for monks, but as a Ranger at least, some parsed logs I have seen indicate that using a 2-hander if it is high-end enough can actually outdamage dual wield. This is a product of the change a while back to 2-handers to make them more palatable to the knight classes, and I can't really say I am happy with it, but there it is. By way of comparison, having a Primal 2-hander does something like 98% of the DPS of a Primal 1hs+Swiftwind. Seeing as how this is considerably better than Primal, you could probably outdamage most Dual Wield combinations using it.

Well no, not any way I put it.
Of course, it's often the case but having a good 2hb packed in the tink bag is a good thing.

When you fight one of those Luclin boss mobs with insane AC, or a dragon with a 400ATK debuff AoE, you're gonna hit for the minimum damage often, and the minimum damage of a 1hander is pitiful.

When you run through a zone, see a named up and decide to gank him, and the named happens to be a mage with a freaking 32dge DS, with 1handers you'll find yourself dead really quick.

When you're in an exp group in a dangerous area like CT with the MT having issues maintaining aggro, with a 2hander you'll generate less hate (less swings= less hate) which means more efficiency for your group.

And finally, in PvP situations, 2handers are a must for jousting and ripping these nasty little druids who thinks their DS is going to scare you.

My point is not to say that 2hb is better for monks, it is not, but it does have a situational usefulness to have a good old quarterstaff hidden in your pockets.

And by the way this one is not that heavy for a high end monk 2hb, most of them are weighing 10.0.

with 45 delay, and 53 dmg, the damage bonus will be good, let my warrior loot it if you don't need, i will use it, i did a crit at 29 with a weighted axe (45dmg/150dly) for 512 dmg, now, i have better str/dex, guess what insane damage i could do with this weapon !

I agree, it's never too late, I started piercing and 2 hand blunt with my paladin at level 50 and I maxed piercing at level 51 with Centi Warspear (dam20 delay30) and 2 hand blunt at level 52 with a delay 38 weapon.

I'm a warrior and at lvl 46 I had 0 duelwield, 0 1hblunt, 0 piercing, 0 2hblunt and 0 1hslash skills. started working on them, round 49 or so, slashing and duelwield were maxed. All were maxed (except 2h blunt) round 56 or so. It wasn't That horrible, kinda pain though.

A good way to raise skill is find a group thats hunting somewhere fairly safe. Ask them if they dont mind if you work on some skills. They'll like the extra damage and if the group ever gets into trouble switch to a better weapon and return the favor.

It's never too late to start. My wife started 2hb from 1 at lvl 52. By 55, she was maxed out. As long as the group you are with doesn't mind, I would suggest doing the same -- it's never a bad idea to have your available weapon skills maxed out. :)
