Despite being a druid I like to keep all my melee skills up. So when the price on this rare find dropped from over 10mpp to 5mpp I put a crowbar in my wallet and bought one. Figure I can still get 1.5m or so for my Withered Totem so the the net cost is like 3.5m. Yes, expensive for a druid melee weapon but the stats are very nice and it's hard to beat it with a one-hander + shield combo, except for AC and we all know what little benefit AC provides a druid against high level mobs.

So I tested it against a few grays in Loping Plains and a few LBs in Western Karana. Now I have 17k AA's so not even close to maxing out all available melee- and proc-boosting abilities. (Yeah, I gotta modify my sig... I had max AA's a couple of xpacs ago!) What I discovered was when the melee damage proc triggered it regularly did 55,003 damage to the mob. The recourse heal was 12,433. I was soloing but presumably this same value heal would apply to the entire group. My max ordinary melee strike with this weapon was 1442.

Now the greys died in seconds and I was able to kill 3-4 LBs at a time without casting a single spell, neither a nuke on them nor a heal on me. The melee damage and procs were sufficient.

Then I went to Lceanium just to try my luck soloing head-to-head a DB drolvarg. Uh... didn't go so well. After a few swings I had to evac at 5%.

The conclusion: fun weapon for killing low level trash, pharming and the like. Altho PBAOE would probably be more efficient. Perhaps of some use in a group if you can add melee without acquiring aggro and you can still manage to cast your much more powerful nukes and heals.

And... I did get 6 skillups in 2HB so there is that....
