Ardnahoy - Of course it didn't remove a necro snare. That can only be removed by the "Remove Curse" line of spells. The effect on this necklace, however, is Cure Disease.

Hmm lets think about this... 1. It is an item with an effect that is clickable and you don't have to take the time to sit and mem the spell or take up a spell gem with it. 2. It has decent resists, something which is always important as you progress to higher lvls. So it may not be the best item on the block, but hey I am more than willing to spend the time going to get it, if nothing else it is a good xp zone, with the added reward of getting a quest item if things work out. Where does veriant get this stuff from sure wish they would stop smoking crack while coming up with these things this should be for every class but CLR DRU SHM.
The Great Saprophyte is a three-hour spawn, major undercon, and takes no less than a reasonably experienced group in the upper 40's to take down. I wonder if level 40+ people will find this reward worthwhile?
If it were equipable by other classes, like hybrids for example, then it would have real value.
I completed the quest for my cleric and druid, and decided to test it out, figuring that this would be nice to use when mobs land desease based slows or snares.
Well, it took a whopping NINE casts of this necklace to cure a slow from an UP shaman mob. It almost took longer to cure than it did for slow to wear off on its own. Also, I cast it over 10 times in an attempt to remove a necro snare, but it did not work.
The only real use I got was in Paludal Caverns, curing newbies while I PL'ed my SK.

If you want a clickable cure diesese just get an Earring of purity. Has a clickable Counteract Disease, which is better then cure, and casting time is only 5 sec. Not to mention it has useful stats (Wis, AC, HP, and Mana)
Hey yeah great idea, hear that all you lv. 35 clerics? Just pop down to Chardok and kill the lv. 57 Iksar Trustee for the earring of purity. Pffft way easier than this quest.
I dont think many high level healers will be shy of a bit of mana for using this spell, however a free spell gem comes in extremely handy, which this item frees up.
Well, I've come acrossed some of the components of this quest, the underbulk bile and the fiend spores and decided to look up what they were for...and behold....a completely useless quest item. It would be different if classes other than healers could use it, but I find it rather innane for such an item for classes that really dont need it, with the exception of saving mana - but how much mana is it really saving. As it was, the fiend spores arent exactly a common drop, not that they are rare - but it takes 10 to 20 kills before I have seen it drop. As an enchanter, I would find this item somewhat nice to have if I could use it (maybe a bank item) - but as it is, this quest item sux for whom it is intended in my opinion - and a rather needless quest.
I agree. Verant has this seeming block about allowing anyone to have an ability already assigned to another class. How many items have you seen where the ability is simply some spell you could already cast 20 levels ago? Geez, give us something to shoot for here! How about a level 51 cleric item that casts clarity. Or a warrior item that casts cure disease. It's not like it would throw the game out of whack if the spell is 20 levels lower than the folks using it, but it should would make the item interesting.
