Seems to me this item is geared towards palladins; they get the most use out of this.
OK for clerics too.

It makes sence if you think about the nature of the Diety in question.
Mithaniel Marr is a War God. His priests are Paladins designed to go toe-to-toe with the enemy in His name. It makes sence that His symbol would be something that would aid them in doing so.
Now His sister Erollisi Marr is the healing twin. Her priests are primarily healers by choice. If you compare the stats on her Golden Idol you'll see that hers is perfectly geared towards the needs of a healer type.
Not to say that clerics can't use His, or Pallys use Hers, just that each Idol is geared towards the primary needs of each gods main type of follower according to the Lore and storyline of the game.

Don't forget that the Barbarian's can also choose Mith Marr as their deity, I had a Barb Beastlord who followed Mith Mar. That and ALL of the playable Frogloks are followers of Mith Marr.
