Easy!

I got both earings in 2 days.. This has to be the easiest quest I have ever done for such powerful earings..

Very simple.. Find 9 people with 230-250 tradeskills and be there middleman :) In a matter of 2 days you get everything you need.

He said he has both and not two of each. Both as in two different earrings!........

Of course druids have several trades mastered. Very few places are good at supporting multiple tradeskills, so druids with thier ports can just pop in at the best spot to buy/farm whatever is needed for the next step. I have not devoted much time to my trades, and I have already mastered 5 different skills. Of course, none of them are tailoring, which is the one I wanted in the first place, but I never had the patience for farming greens. If I ever get my trades to the levels needed for this quest, I might just do it twice, and have both earrings. <drool>

Ever notice

Ya ever notice that druids are usualy the ones that have a lot of high skills? Most people that bother with trade skills do one per character, but druids seem to do ALOT of skills. I can't belive it's just for the coldain prayer shawl (though you notice that there are a lot more druids out there with high level shawls than most other clases.). I know that part of it is the combination of a high wis/int and foraging (so many trade ingredients require foraging), but that dosen't take into account brewing, cooking, or pottery which don't require much more than what you can get from merchants or can be easily gathered by selective hunting.
Just an observation.

Actually Baking and Brewing need more foraged stuff than most other trade-skills. If you ever tried making Qeynos Afternoon Tea or Misty Thicket Picnics you would know this after having to forage and farm alot fo the ingredients. You can buy them in the bazaar but then you will be losing money when making the Tea and Picnics.

One other thing I forgot to mention as to why druids seem to be tradeskillers more than other classes (but not exclusivly so) is the total lack of mid level quest armor available. The best stuff druids can get outside of auctions before the 40's seems to be tailored suits, where almost every other class has the Temple of Ro quests, at the very least. It's the only way most of us can keep up...

Actually, my druid took up first brewing and then baking in self defense -- she was tired of running around with her pockets overflowing with berries, fruit, vegetables, etc. But once you start doing one or two skills, you do run into the interdependence of one trade on another. And the ability to make those 'quick hops' for supplies doesn't hurt ; ).

Another theory, and definitely one of the reasons my druid has a lot of high trade skills, is that they tend to overlap when you get higher in them. I origingally only worked on tailoring, but I needed brewing and smithing for tailoring components. Then I did the prayer shawl quests, and cooking and jewelcraft entered the picture. Also, as other people mentioned, the ability to port around to farm or buy components quickly makes it much less of an annoyance to work up the skills.

I suspect druids are the most common tradeskill class, and I bet VI knows this since this quest (and druid-only reward for the original quest) require so many tradeskills.

/agree

Exactly how my tradeskills went up. I didn't really bother with any of them until the Prayer Shawls last year, but am now approaching 200 in most all of them.

It's because druids can actually go get all these things. Ingredients are often scattered. There's lots of pottery supplies in Rivervale, but no firing sheets. There's lots of smithing supplies in Kelethin, but no mithril. Lots of smithing supplies in Felwithe too where the mithril is, but no forge. And so on.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 11 2002 at 2:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) There are firing sheets in RiverVale... and I believe there is a forge in Felwithe. Plus... any class can bank there smithing supplies and run over to Kaladim.

http://pub126.ezboard.com/feqtraderscornerfrm13.showMessage?topicID=1402.topic

you need high tradeskills to complete the quest on your own. you finish the quest by combining 9 different tradeskill-made-items in a container, but i hear you can buy all the individual pieces for around 16k.

This earring is the result of the Druid "Protection of the Cabbage" quest. Please see this site for more information.

This particular earring is the NON-Druid reward. The reward for the quest is Xanthe's Earring of Nature (DRU Only) which you can turn in to Rebecca Cabbageleaf in Fungus Grove to get THIS earring, which is a bit more friendly to NON-Druids.

Hope this helps.
