I love the fact they changed this robe to a required lvl. Very Few people I see with the robe on Rodcet and that is a plus for me. I have been to the "sewers" with Guild and open raid encounters several times and never gotten the robe. We have gotten many other nice drops including "the Uber Boots of Flowing Slime", "Ring of Flowing SLime" a few times, and the gloves once. Fortunately I won roll on the ring and sold it for 8K and turned around an purchased the robe for 6k. There are many other nice items but for the stats and rarity of this robe, it still stands out on top as one of the better Robes for casters. I do however disagree the "an acidic mass" or "A Swirling Red mass" are a walk in the park. They are quite a mob! Still very challenging for old school zones. Good luck to all : )
it's a "Required level of 51" so aint one twink gonna be wearing this end of story!! now let's hear how ya'll got it and looks and such and how hard he was to kill!! this aint the place for speculation peeps it's for facts
Dunno how it looks since I'm a Warrior, but the Acidic Mass wasn't that tough. Actually the guy before him is harder. Acidic Mass is pretty easy with less than 10 people if you have a good tank.
Twinking is the worst thing to happen to this game since it came out. I'm tired of seeing level 5 characters riding around on horses with near-epic weapons and gear. I wish more items were no drop, the game would be much more challenging.
I agree that twinking can get out of hand but i'd rather give my new characters a few platnium to buy my spells than join one of the many beggers that annoy as all so much. The only thing that annoys me more than a begger is seeing a NooB with better stuff than my main. With the new shared bank that has just come out two days after this post I think twinking is actually part of the game now though.

It's here so someone could gather information on where this drops, what drops it, and how hard.. things like that.
This robe has the same tint as the flowing thought boots that drop in the sewers. The stats on this robe seem abit lackluster when you consider the encounter difficulty and the fact that better robes drop off of easier mobs. :/
the other robe may have 8int but this one has 50mana which is better than the extra 3int. all in all most peeps that see this drop WILL have better beforehand. twink item or sold for pp most likely. IMO
As a 54th enchanter I would still like this robe. It is better than my guardian robe and has both cha and int and saves, not to mention high ac, now of course, all of us would prefer to walk around with Nathaniel's Robe from Katta but pls like that'll happen. This robe is not for twinks, not all of us are on our 4th char in a level 60 guild hittin the uber stuff.

Its from Cazic Thule, meaning you can't equip it before level 50 (They didn't change that, did they?). I, too wear a Blackened Crystalline Robe at 53, and still have in excess of 200 int. Saves and hp are walways welcome additions on gear, and the ac is very nice--it may not do much, but every little bit helps.
As an afterthought:
Casters do not tank, but they take hits--debuff too early, nuke a little too much, or trying to get an enchanter pet to engage (there are reasons why you would want to do all these and reasons you wouldn't, its all conditional). No caster can take prolonged hits from 50+mobs, but that doesn't mean they will not take some hits. My 1k unbuffed hp is a joke, so if I have just a 1% better chance that they miss me, or a few points of damage will be shaved off, then I welcome it. I just need to survive long enough that the tanks can get whatever it is off me, or live long enough for the heal to be cast, or get off a spell uninterrupted, or buy the cleric a couple extra seconds to camp out.
well the cha on an AC 22 robe makes this a very nice chanter robe my chanter is 57 and still wears a black crystaline robe and im sure there are others out there with similar robes
now throw in the 4 saves to everything and the 50 mana 50hp and this isnt just a twink robe like you think
Look at the all around stats on this robe: Nice AC for when/if this caster is summoned, dex for the wizzies to land crit blasts, agi to help stop interrupts, int/cha are obvious. Also add 50 hp/mana and 4 sv all. This is a robe for the int caster who has high int already and wants to help round out the stats. Dont flame an item for a low stat, think about what other uses this has for everyone.
Absolutely correct. My 56 enchanter was over 255 Int with his Int buff when I got this. Now it's 252. I got it for the AC, HP/Mana, and saves. As for these all being sold as you would have better by the time you could get this as a drop...Very rarely are they for sale on Torv. /shrug

Posted:Jun 08 2002 at 3:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) there are plenty of ppl on kane bayle without a life and a 35 wiz isnt one, there are ppl in high 40's and now in their 50's. i know 1 person who plays 18 hrs a day everyday, now that is just wrong.
How is it wrong? If that is what they wish to do, let them. Not our place to say someone is wacked out for playing games more than anything else. Heck wish I had the time to play half that much. Hats off to ya, if you have plenty of time for fun and entertainment, Working sucks but gots to do it.
18 hours a day? Holy crap, that's just wrong! They must be one of those wierd people that "sleep" and "go to the bathroom" What the hell is wrong with them?

For a lvl 51 recomended item... they could have made this alot better... i agree 50 mana/hp is nice... but the are ALOT better robes out there that are easier to get and have better stats...
Considering how easy it is to get 255 INT these days, the 50 hp/mana is really nice IMO. This still may end up being a twink robe, but most high level casters have over 255 INT and prefer HP/Mana/AC on robes.

Look at the item pic before you make a comment please. It is for 51+. Therefore, if a lvl 10 were to get this robe, the AC would be like 3AC or something. At lvl 51+ the INT on this is not good, but you should have plenty already, the big thiing on it is the MANA, HP and the saves to all Sv's.
