It now lists the 4 int casters and all races - my Erudite is VERY happy.
iLLusions?

not sure if VI nerfed the ability to do this or not but i was wondering.... does the old trick of casting illusion like human for example on urself (ench) and then trying to equip mask still work? i know not letting them use it would be pointless but i cant remember... plus w/ new PoP ability for chanters to cast illusions on others... so not sure just wondering

As far as I'm aware that bug was patched a little while ago, so if you try it don't be too disappointed if you still can't equip it.
ROFLMFAO!!!!!

Sorry but Vahshir, Barbarian, Troll, Ogre wearable?!?!?!? I think this is the only time Ive ever had to question Verants judgement. (Normally I dont mind what they do)

And for thoes of you that havent figured it out yet, can any of the classes I just listed BE a Nec, Wiz, Mag, Enc?

I didnt think so :D

Erduites can't use, hence the reasoning behind every other race listed. Look on other items, if only race is excluded they will usually list every single other race, regardless if they fit the class or not.

Is it stupid? Hell yes, but that's how VI works sometimes :P

Why this can happen
# Mar 15 2004 at 10:10 AM Rating: Decent
It's been fixed, so it's kind of moot, but just so everyone gets why this can happen....

I would expect that the race and class names you see are just added by the UI. The item data almost certainly doesn't waste space on these names. Instead, as with most software that needs to associate a short list of non-exclusive possibilities with an object, EQ would store race and class as a number which is created using Boolean Arithmetic. This is pretty basic CS, based on only moderately advanced math. You take all of your values (HUM, ERU, TRL, etc.) and assign them a number that is a power of two (1, 2, 4, etc).

You select the set you want (e.g. this item might be usable by HUM, ERU, TRL) and merge them using boolean-or, but because this is a simple case you can just add up the numbers for those values (1+2+4=7). That's the number that the server-side database would store (or something like it, I'm making up these numbers). So, when an item is listed as "ALL", it's almost certainly just all of the possible values added together (and the UI checks for that particular value and replaces it with "ALL" for ease of reading).

In this case, either the programmer tried to add up the numbers and forgot one or the item was limited to certain races originally and then the others were added on, again forgetting one.

Don't think that just because you see races listed that SOE sat down and thought about what races would be there... it could have just been an oversight in the math, as presumably all items have to have some number, even the ones that you just see as "ALL".

NOTE: I don't know any of this for sure, it's just an obvious conclusion if you program for a living (which I do).
Do Erudites have no secrets?
# Jun 06 2002 at 10:18 AM Rating: Good
Why on earth is this mask not wearable by Erudites? Damnit, my main is Erudite Enchanter, and this mask is by far the best I've ever seen. Not that I'd ever be able to get it, but hey, this is just not fair. Barbarians can, Humans can, Iskar, Elves, whatever, Erudites cant. Damn!

Their fat heads are too big for the mask to fit on... It would be no secret what's behind the mask if you saw this big cone-head stickin' out from under it.

125 mana, 12svAll... this is the best pure caster mask in the game.

As a level 60 enchanter, I couldn't care less about the 125 mana. 12 vs all is extra. The useful stats on it are 30 AC, 10 sta, 125 hp. Just need to keep cha at 150 (that's with buff), anything over that isn't helping much. It's all about the hp/ac end game for me.

"I couldn't care less about the 125 mana"

You would care if you ever got to VT and started raiding, its endless hours of killing yard trash where all you do is buff and nuke.

Sure, AC is nice but i suggest worrying about resists instead because that together with lots of HP is what will keep you alive after VT when you move on to T3 PoP zones.

You should prolly try getting some more Cha as well, mezzing in PoP zones becomes increasingly hard, not only because mobs resist more, but because the get mad and start whacking you for 500+
Theres a softcap at 200cha, after that the effect of charisma is smaller so getting charisma to 200+ with cha gear and buffs is something you wont regret =)
You will definitely want high charisma after you get the lvl 64 charm, its one of the most powerful spells in the game for pure exping.

Does anyone know if this guild has a website, or what server they're on? Just thought they might have some cool pics of guild raids. Thanks.

P.S. FIRST POST!
