complaining
# Jan 07 2004 at 7:25 PM Rating: Default
man i cant believe some people are complaining about who should get this. it has nice resists, hp, mana, FT IV, and ac. imo everyone should be trying to better their stats and effects. that is after all what the game is about. an enchanter can use the stats just like anyone else. had a debate with someone the other day about a dexterity aug that dropped and i rolled on it with my cleric. so what. im up there hittin mobs just like they are and have a proccing weapon as well. could they "use it more"?? probably...could "i use it" yes. so therefore and thusbeing im trying to better my character and since i was there helping i have just as much right to roll as anyone else.

now if a warrior were to roll on a +mana augment then thats uncalled for...
RE: complaining
# Mar 20 2004 at 7:38 AM Rating: Default
Of course I just have to throw in that it does seem geared more towards chanters... the mod to evo won't help anyone who's high-enough level to take on this mob. Then you have the +25cha and +25int, add in the fact that chanters are normally horrible nukers and voila!! You have probably the best robe in the game. Note: because I say it seems geared towards chanters does not in any way suggest that they should get over anyone else, it;s a roll for all affected classes.)

RE: complaining
# Feb 02 2004 at 5:45 PM Rating: Default
I concur, IMHO the only people that get more chances on FT items are bards because they are the only ones affected at a great percent by FT on guild raids.

I have said it once and I'll say it 1000 times, When your on a raid and have 9, 5, SD, CoMarr, self buff and if outdoors your on your mount, how will FT help you even if its maxed at 15 (which btw you can max out with just this item, and the Ammy quest from VT.)

This robe is good for soloing, and when soloing all the casters are quite balanced... Necros and Enchanters getting mana back easier than Mages and Wizzies, but they are all fighting for their shots at mana and they are all quite balanced.

Sooooo As a rule... only time someone gets a one-up on FT items should be when its a Bard!!
RE: complaining
# May 29 2004 at 6:47 AM Rating: Excellent
Actually, chanters have the hardest time getting mana for all int casters since most of them have a KEI 24/7(other than necros who use their lich), but in addition to that, mages get their pet canibalize thing(not sure what to call it) and mod rods, and wizards their familiar, giving them the 1-up over ench's for mana regen, who get no other boosts to their mana regeneration(besides the same other things mage/wiz/necros can get).
RE: complaining
# Jun 29 2004 at 2:33 PM Rating: Default
Heh ... Actually Pet Canni was removed from the game months ago. Of all the Int casters, Mage's have the hardest time with mana regen, though it is a fairly close thing for Mages, Wizards and Chanters. Its just the Necros that need to be nerfed. ;-)

FYI ... An often under-used chanter ability for mana regen is Gather Mana, which if used regularly, can be used to increase Enchanters' mana regen over all, if not saved for emergencies.

With that being said, with stats like those, there is not a int caster class out there that would NOT benefit from this robe between the Sta, Int, HP, Mana, resists, and FT.

Enches can mana sieve and gather mana, they do not have a hard time getting mana back at all.

Necros have a strong lich line, Regen is more important than FT.

Mages have 2 mana regening spells, 1) +8 a tic, 2) +3 a tic, -800 damage to pet. As well as summoning rods

Wizards have their familars and the ability to Harvestx2 in 10 mins.

This is a fair robe for any of the classes above.

First, no guild would award this to a bard. You have better. This is about the best a caster can get. Find another source for your FT... not my gear.

It's a moot point since it's not bard usable.
RE: complaining
# Jun 14 2004 at 12:09 PM Rating: Default
I guess your right on that one, got me there... my assumption was that if it WAS bard usable.

However, for a little bit of intelligence on this, I think a magician or wizard would be able to put this robe to best use. The skill mods on it for evocation would benefit those two classes most. And there really isn't much that effects evocation like this, and who can't use +7 mana regen?

Just off the top of my head. BP seems common lol.

Dead 5 times now, no Robe yet. On the plus side we're getting a ton of BP's. Personally want the Emp robe more. FT just seems to add up on its own even though I love the resists on this one.

Ahhh, I didnt' understand what you meant. Here let me give you some information about the item.

Lets see, it drops off of Aten Ra in Vex Thal and requires a raid encounter. Strong (not strongest) guild.

Drop Rate is Rare, but not that rare

AC 65
Mod Evocation +10%
STA +25
CHA +25
INT +25
HP +125
MANA +125
All Saves +20
Recommended Level of 60
Effect: Flowing Thought VII (increases mana 7 per tick)
WT: 0.0 Size: Tiny
Class: Nec Wiz Mag Enc
Race All

Can't really comment on the color of the robe, considering LoY, but I would suggest wearing matching shoes and gloves to go with this robe. Preferably something that matches your eyes.

Haha, not sure what information you want.
RE: Tommy the exception..

Forgot the other stuff,

Upgrades are minimal because of effect FT7 and resists are hard to replace, but we are INT casters so you should look to elemental gear for upgrades, Shaktar is a wizard so the elemental Bracers have 4FT on each, and the elemental robe has much better stats and a a 23% (if i'm not mistaken) improved damage on my nukes. Not sure about for Mage's though. Definitely something to look into. AHR robe is good for all INT classess, but the elemental robe completely blows it away.

EMP Robe, BP Robe and a few other robes are comparible for old world/pre PoP gear. Keeping in mind overall stats with STA/HTPS/MANA and Resists being the most important stats with the same effect. This is a good robe for a any caster that is in transition to the elementals. A guild that has the numbers and has farmed VT for a while should leave VT and move to the Elementals as soon as possible. The gear is better and any of the set armor there is better than VT gear.

As far as old world zones and PoP zones that aren't Elementals, VT gear is equal to or better than all.

RE: Tommy the exception..
# Dec 14 2003 at 8:03 PM Rating: Excellent
That is probably some of the most horrendous BS I've heard. Upgrades are there, and very possible if you are killing this mob. FT7 means that if you already have FT10 and get this robe, you have effectively killed FT2 from your regen rate. I wear Emp robe and Shield of Auras, whose clickies add an effective FT7 that stacks with everything. That means I can have FT15 and still use my clickies, along with all other mind buffs that I get (Bot9, SD, VoQ, etc.). Oh, and the shield is also a 300pt rune with +5 to all resists. Also compare the AC on the robes, RoS's 65 to Maelin Robe's 35. Gimme a break.

If you're killing ATH and want this robe only for the FT, you should peobably place your hopes on Emp robe and Arch Lich shield, since they will give better stats together as well as a Run/more resists, etc.

In fact, I hardly count this as an upgrade to Emp robe.

Quote:
The gear is better and any of the set armor there is better than VT gear.

So I'm guessing you're about to tell me Ornate armor is better than VT gear LOLZ. I don't mean to flame, but either you don't know what the hell you're talking about, or you just don't know how to write and express what your real meaning is.

Wizzy Ele robe has Wrath of Ro on it, FYI; and it adds 35% to fire nukes, not 23. The only thing that makes the Ele robes better than these are the HPs/Mana becasue the resists aren't that much of an upgrade and your INT should be close to capped by the time you're getting gear like this.

This is not meant as a flame, it's just a reaction to a bunch of BS.

Tell me why more than 75% of the comments on this item have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the actual item itself... Instead of whining about who should get what and "my friend said he said/she said crap" why cant you post useful information about the actual item itself. This robe is awesome for anyone that wins it, especially wizards and mages as they will benefit the most from the nice evo bonus. The FT7, huge saves, and 125 mana/hps will benefit any of the classes however. Imo this is the best robe in the game for pure casters, and if not "the" its in the top 3 for sure.

RE: This amazes me...

Hey, my info has everything to do with this item. Getting to VT is more important then working your way through the zone. This zone is now considered a farming zone for those on their way to the Elementals.

This Robe drops off the head beotch. It requires a somewhat strong raiding guild (not the strongest) to farm this zone. It also takes a fair amount of mob knowledge to successfully make it to AHR.

Ask me a question and I'll give you the answer, don't complain about people not providing information if you don't have a question.

No offense meant, but you just complained about everyone else doing he said/she said stuff and didn't provide any information other than your opinion. I do happen to agree with you that his robe is MASSIVE.

As a substitute for this if your guild isn't VT keyed, check out the Burrower Parasite's gear. Camp it, and reap the benifits from that mob until your guild has killed the EMP and finished keying, depending on the size and power of your gear, Agnarr and Mithanel Marr lvl mobs are also good targets, they require more "know how" than true powers. PoP mobs are there to be killed, but if you are looking for Vengence and FT items look at Luclin based mobs. There are more of them and the mobs are easier to kill.

Khazam is a place to view items that you may or may not ever have the ability to obtain in the game. It also lets people set reasonable goals for gear and what they need to look for in a Guild. No higher lvl gear can be obtained solo.

Everyone be Hopeful
# Oct 01 2003 at 3:16 AM Rating: Decent
Just to let everyone know, Vex Thal is a very attainable Zone. This is no longer the zone that contains the End Game mob. As for raiding this zone and clearing it after a server pops (All bosses spawn). It can be done with a raid force of 40-50 lvl 65, if you are in a guild that has lower lvls don't attempt if you are below 60. Two difficult to contain agro on adds/spawns.

Things I would suggest.

Collecting Shards before an attempt on EMP SSRA (EMP should be a goal for every guild, takes some work but well worth notiriaty. SSRA takes a raid force of around 35-40 (40+ to allocate for dps producing classes and possible mistakes) lvl 65, if all melee have Bane: SSRA.
All shards are obtainable either solo or with one group of respectful skill and lvl. I myself farmed ME shard for my entire guild, but quading the Goranga Scouts solo for AA xp, when a named popped, I'd just ask in guild chat who needed it and have them come and loot it or help me kill the named that drops it.

When the Planar Rift obtained, do not under any circumstances think you can just get your VT key and go off miandering through VT. Don't go there unless you have at least 3 groups, CRs aren't fun.

Time and cooridinate VT raids with the other VT keyed guilds. Some by now have moved onto PoP progression, and most are willing to give you tips and strats if you ask, and others just aren't farming VT at all anymore in hopes of obtaining a set of Elemental for everyone in their guild.

If your guild does not have the power to do the PoP progression. I do suggest VT first. It isn't called candyland for no reason. The drop rate and quality of of any mob killed in VT is as high/higher than all zones except elemental up.

Furhermore, if you want to drooooooool over this stuff feel free, it is very obtainable, buy a powerful midsize guild (40-60), those guilds that have full raid windows (72) that are 63+ can walk through this zone, and it's just another Large Orc Camp for you to sit around and drink Minotaur Brew at.
RE: Everyone be Hopeful
# Oct 11 2003 at 1:02 AM Rating: Default
Update: After servers were reset, Wish of Challenge (the guild I belong to), cleared VT not one time, but twice, and the candy was delievered. Robe of Secrets, Essence, Arms, you name it it dropped, after the second pop of server, we were lucky enough to leave VT and go to SSRA and kill EMP, raid force was to tired to continute but HP, AL, and XTC were all up and waiting to get killed.

Sony does do a few things correctly, sometimes.

Forgot to put this on here, doesn't take years to do this. Can power lvl a character with a druid and enchanter to lvl 50s, and then power lvl with a wizard up to 60s, after that XP is very easy.

For a true newbie, you must use your time wisely. On our server there are a number of people that will help a true newbie, I am one, Bryarrose is one.

Shards are very easy obtain, they take a minimal amount of time to gather, look for a guild that is either on the path to EMP, or make friends with a guild that has EMP at farm status. You can get your rift. It is the only truely difficult farm.

Aten items = FT15
# Aug 25 2003 at 8:57 AM Rating: Decent
This robe and the aten neck item (always drops) = FT 15 in 2 items... very very nice. For those that are asking how to get it? You will know if your guild is raid-worthy of this. Can you kill the ssra emp any given spawn? Do you have 45+ people VT key'd that can dedicate 6-12 hours straight for a VT raid to reach candyland and aten herself? If so, then go for it... very nice piece. The Aten neck is the best in-game at the time of PoP, so bid your raid points goodbye and get it whatever the cost. If you can afford both, then you are set at FT15 and can open up other items for resists and hp/mana instead of FT.

Umm...heheh...first you need to quest for your vex thal key which takes a while. You need a raid just to kill all the way to Aten Ha Ra. And it would take a long time to clear if you don't have any CoH mules in place. Levels in the raid need to be at least lvl 60 and up to be useful.

This robe is sweet. I wouldn't mind having one in my robe collection.

As for what class, I think its great for all of them. However, just because it has 10% to Evoc doesn't mean it's meant for a wizard. My necro would love that +25 Sta, +125 HP/Mana, and the Evoc bonus (our nukes are based on Evoc), as well as the AC (which would probably lower lich hp suck by at least 2hp's). The saves sure take care of lots of my raid gear, hehe... but the Sta/HP/Mana/FT would definitely come in handy to twitch the clerics all day long. *wink wink nudge nudge say no more say no more*

Main boss of the easiest zone in the game, we spend 4-5 hours and drop 5-7 mobs(the latter if we do goo's right outside of the AHR click up)The mobs have a Million freaking HP's thats it, as long as your enchanters dont suck, you will be ok, from TVk on we had 2 enchanters, after fake aten, we had one. Easy as pie. Robe hasn't dropped for us yet though( We kinda skipped VT due to Euro guilds getting all the damn raids there because of how SOny decides to patch, so now that we are close to Time we go in and destroy VT. Get your levels and AA's in groups and apply to any guild, equipment will come and most of the high end guilds know this so as long as you can play, meet the AA and level requirements they will take you, and you will be here doing these mobs.

MB at beginning of a fight? dead wizard, not much good there. MB's are at the end of the fight to cut out the last several seconds, also when getting aggro is a non-issue. Path I've most seen for wizards is nuke/rend robe to maintain a consistant dps and keep a decent mana supply throughout an elongated fight.

Mod rods in this length of fight not going to clerics/magicians? I'm not in this caliber guild so i'm not gonna say, but --opinion-- would be you got a lot of mages chillin heh.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 18 2003 at 12:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Pre-MB nerf btw. One tactic I had heard was the wizzy's all bound in the same area near a mob boss, if it was possible. An epic cleric was right there too. Well the wizzy's would just cast MB, die, MB, etc... for a couple of rounds until they could no longer cast MB due to level loss. Cleric then chain rezed. Not the most sane way to do things IMHO, but it doesn't matter now.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 08 2003 at 11:54 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You heard wrong. Even pre nerf MB, you still have a recast time of 2 hours 24 min associated with it (which does NOT reset on death). Whoever told you that LIED (sounds more like you made it up). You cannot MB, die, MB again. Please don't post some crap like this when you don't know the truth.

MB also has a very small if any aggro, you can MB whenever you want and if your tank is good, not get aggro/

Take a chill pill man! I made it clear that I HEARD it, and it was only something I heard, meaning non tested and I have no clue if it is correct. Save flaming for the druids. The person who told me I was grouped with at the time in Split Paw, said he was on alt and that his wizzy was in Dragon Council (yes he was pretty twinked, or more like seemed pretty twinked since I didn't know squat then, but I highly doubt he was in an uber guild now). Most likely some 45+ druid for a main that spent all of his time farming for money or whatever. Since then, I can confirm the MB does have a long re-pop time as a trusted friend who is a MB wizzy told me, and that the original tactic would not be possible. I am curious to know if this tactic was ever enabled on the TEST server when they first introduced MB to it, meaning, if they didn't put a re-use time on MB in the beginning.

Actually, MBing at the beginning is a good thing to do, then mod-rod back up, being as MB has almost NO aggro to it, regardless of the damage. Last Trak raid I attended the wizard MB'd within the 1st 10 seconds of the fight, and the MA never lost aggro, FYI.

Umm you can make rods before hand you know!

Also several mobs require MT gaining a lot of aggro and then nuking to summon level so MT is summoned and has good aggro.

Especially done on perma-rooted mobs. Now Aten Ra is not rooted but at the level of guild you would have to be in order to take her down your MT could gain and keep aggro pretty well even through an MB or two.

so if your are a 59 enchanter you must to know those mobs have a very high resist VS all kind of magic and that means he can resist both, normal spells and LUREs until the changes on test server come up. In that case, ATEN resist some of my lure spells, another eated betwen 39 to 625 Dmg and others fully eated. on that kind of mob best mana/DMG ratio is MB, cause is unressit. I´ll be agree with you when the changes on Test server apply on normal servers (lures becomes unressitible).

if you try to take this guy on with 24 level 59-60's, then make sure at least one is a cleric with a clicystick and one wizard, that way you will save time on the CR and you can just TL everyone out real quick after you get your asses handed to you.

but seriously. do you think this has better stats than the mail of judgement? MoJ is basically the same (exept it's for wiz casters) for those of you that didnt know that. i think i would pass out just to see either one drop, but thats prob not for another year, xev prob doesnt have a guild strong enough to get near this guy yet.
What's the look?
