Here is a great example of an item that would be highly sought after on progression servers if classes other than enchanter could use it. However, as a drop from a level 55 NPC it is a very low effect for a chanter to the point of being mostly useless --at least C2 would be in the range of useable (not that much, on any server above level 60, but some use). Sure it can be used to buff low people, but it has a slow cast time.

Anyways, that just opinion and conjecture.

Reality is we need a modern item window pic of this item.

We could use a pic of someone wielding this too.

Just bought this for my enc on FV for 1000pp.

Snailish, you're missing the point. This kind of item is NOT intended to let every class have access to one class's "class-defining" spell. The purpose is for the enchanter to free up a slot and be able to provide this buff without memming it and without burning the slight amount of mana it requires to cast. Sure, on TLP if this was useable by every class, it would be one of the most sought-after items on the server, more than an FBSS or any of the other high-demand TLP items.

I bought it for my 115 enc for the reason someone below provides. She gets asked for crack by low levels every so often and, being in essence a lazy druid, I'd rather just right-click this than to have to mem the spell.

Freeing up spell slots is HUGE, especially for a class like enchanter, which has so many different useful spells. I love the fact they've provided AA versions of slow and tash, as well as one AA which casts the highest level of the enchanter's 2 essential self-buffs, the ward and the shield buffs. Those buffs last a long time but they drop eventually and it's a pain to have to stop and mem them.

Like I said, I'm a lazy druid, even when I play my alts!

Yeah, I realize I'm answering this four years late, but better late than never! You "were" missing the point... you probably get it by now! Smiley: lol

Darnit. I tried to right-click this today with my necro and got the "your race, class, or deity cannot use this item" message. :(

Not that I really need it for my necro, but it would have been nice to get one for my magician.
Now for something completely different...

Cast time is 7 seconds on it now.
Two real uses
# Oct 22 2002 at 5:43 PM Rating: Excellent
My enchanter keeps this in her bag at all times for two reasons.

1. To cast Clarity on the characters not high enough for C2. Kind of unnecessary after 59 though since you can group C2 or cast KEI at 60 and still get noobs in that. If you don't wanna waste your time to group up and mana to cast those spells, this will do the trick.

2. Corpse runs. Whenever my enchanter is unfortunate enough to have to die, after getting a rez, click this and helps me regain my mana back a little quicker to get enough mana to cast a better spell. Saves me a little bit of med time.

well if you get these

Silken Augmenter's Pantaloons

you wont need this
RE: Two real uses

The difference being is you will spend a minimum of about 100k to get the pants. Where as you can just loot the wand when it *finally* does drop. I camped west bot for the pants 3 months, it dropped twice, and I lost roll for my enchanter both times. I will probably get the wand while just aa'ing in Hate and be happy. Not everyone can farm 100k or cares to buy the pp of the net.
Triggers
# Feb 13 2002 at 4:36 PM Rating: Decent
They didn't take the ability to trigger stuff from inventory from all things, just some that were overpowered, and the ability they nerfed was for classes that cant use the items to use the effect, but only on certain items again. Like the SoulFire, totally overpowered in ToT, so they fixed it so that only pally could use effect, or the Incarnadine BP, which allowed anyone to invis for a while. And as for the proc being worse or better than the clarity you normally cast, item effects are level based just like the spell would be, so if your lvl 47, it is exactly the same effect as lvl 47 clarity, as it would be as if you were 30, it would be lvl 30 clarity, well, cept you need to be 46 to get it, but thats how it works. Used to be 30 sec cast time and off pre revamp inny, apparently it is 10 now tho, which actually makes it useful because in 30 seconds, you could med up the mana to cast clarity, if you had it on your self.
Not to shabby
# Feb 12 2002 at 11:18 AM Rating: Decent
It would be nice for when i travel and all the little nubs want a clarity I wouldn't have to waste my mana.

Managed to win one of these two nights ago in Hate. Sweet peice. Here's a few corrections:

10/30 +5 Cha effect clarity

It says in the description PRIMARY SECONDARY, however I'm only able to equip it in the Primary slot since enchanters can't dual wield. Dont know if this is a bug or mess up in the description. It must be equiped to use and is enchanter only.
You don't have to be enc
# Feb 25 2001 at 4:37 PM Rating: Default
You don't have to be a ENC to use the Clarity if it is Triggered just put it in one of your main eight inv spots and right click it and you have clarity. Nice for all spell casters. Don't forget if Monks can use items that have triggered affects. You can confuse them for Clerics when in a Arena. Trust me I was in a Arena and he had about 10 items that cast spells. I was totaly confused and found out that you can use items that races can't use. Its like people just casting Clarity and Insight and Gift of magic on my warrior for no reason. My warrior gets Clarity more often then my higher level druid, aye how is that possible?

If it was possible to do Hate without an enchanter, one might be able to test this from inventory. ;)
Erm, anyway... Helm of Ridossan, SK Erudite only helm. Procs Reclaim Energy. It can be clicked from inventory by my non-erudite SK, as well as my druid. (Got two, it's no drop, drops in the Warrens)
My rogue's mask of deception can be clicked from inventory, so I decided to check with my Shadow Knight. Of course, he couldn't. =P

My point? Some items work from inventory, even for the classes not listed. Some items only work for those on it.

About that helm of ridlosan, i recently went to click it to reclaim energy and it gave the msg that not propper class or Race or diety to sue so it must have been fixed.

along time ago this was true. you could use a triggered effect when not equipped. this ability was nerfed many many patches ago.

RE: You don't have to be enc
# Jun 06 2001 at 6:05 PM Rating: Good
This is half-true, the ability to trigger effects on items that you could not equip was nerfed, but not the ability to trigger some items from inventory slots. The circlet of shadows for instance can be triggered from an inventory slot only by necro's and sk's. This item is the same, only enchanters can trigger it, but it can be used from the inventory slot, it does not need to be equipped.
