Did the smith follow Rallos Zek? And did you use the cultural forge in South Qeynos

Smith does not need to follow Rallos Zek. You forgot to put an imbued jade in the forge when you did the final combine.

Also would not have combined at all, anywhere except for the Qeynos cultural forge.

To make the Fierce Heraldic armor, the smith does not have to follow Rallos Zek?
Hmm
RE: Fine?
# Aug 23 2004 at 10:22 AM Rating: Decent
Any smith of the correct race can smith imbued cultural using the imbued gemstone of the god.
Only a follower of the god can imbbue the god's gemstone.
So.. Shaman who follows Rallos imbues the Jade, then a Human smith of any god can use taht imbued jade to forge Fierce Heraldic for a follower of Rallos.

P.S. it is deity restricted armour!

this pic correct? I thought this stuff was supposed to be cultural? So why can all those other races wear it?

Nope, Diety restricted, not OGR TRL as you would think.

Why would you think OGR TRL? Its human cultural. If it was restricted like the other heraldic, it would be HUM HEF.

RE: Not ogre SK??

I think what you're looking for is Crimson Darkscale Armor. It's Ogre Cultural plate.

Breastplate is:
AC53, STR+10, STA+10, HP+60, Mana+20
OGR, TRL
WAR, SHD
(Rallos Zek)
Ogre SK?
# Feb 10 2003 at 10:23 PM Rating: Default
I was wondering why, if you have an Ogre SK that worships Rallos Zek, why you could not use this armor. Seems that it makes little sense that a bard can wear it but not an SK. Any thoughts?

Just had one made for me last night and can't wait to try it out!!!

Spent about 4K on materials, and 3K to a Human Master Smith for the final combine (Brell Serilis server prices). When worn it has a crimson color and looks totally awesome. As the guy who made it for me said "It's a big upgrade from Crusty!".

Craftable by human only?
# Sep 18 2002 at 12:49 AM Rating: Default
I see people saying that this armor is craftable by human only but has anyone tested this? I would think that if you had the components and the skill you could smith it at the same forge and be able to make it. Perhaps I am wrong though. I don't know much about smithing but I wouldn't wanna waste my time lvling my barbs smithing if he won't even be able to make this. If anyone knows for sure that barbs can't make this armor plz post. (PS: Is there a tradeskill cap per lvl? If not maybe I should just wip up a human char for smithing)
RE: Craftable by human only?
# Nov 19 2002 at 10:24 AM Rating: Decent
Yes this has been tested on many occassions. This armor can only be made at the cultural forge, and only a human can use the cultural forge. No, an Enchanter with Illusion: Human cannot do this, yes it's been tested :).
RE: Craftable by human only?
# Sep 30 2002 at 6:07 PM Rating: Decent
This is Diety Specific "Cultural" armor...and is only wearable by followers of Rallos Zek, and is made by a Human Smith using their cultural forge. In answer to your second question, no there is no skill limit based on your level....you can have a level 1 with high skill, though at that level to get stats up to make skilling efficient would be expensive.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 04 2002 at 8:22 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ok.. so i was eating this hot soup stuff.. and it had potatoes, that were really hot.. so.. i wanted to eat one.. and mind you.. these were really hot potatoes.. so.. i picked one up on my fork.. and i start to blow on it, because.. well.. it was hot.. and blowing on it cools it down. ok.. so.. by the time i cooled it down from blowing. i am light-headed because my brain has too much/not enough oxygen. and since i get light-headed. my balancing skill goes down, and the potatoe drops off of the fork, and back into the really hot soup.. so i had to get and ice cube to cool the stuff down..

When an item without an effect has a recommended level, does that mean that anyone under that level cannot equip it? And if it's a case-by-case scenario, what does it mean for FH gear?
RE: Recommended Level
# Aug 20 2002 at 9:58 PM Rating: Decent
You will be able to equip the item but the stats will be decreased... you will see what the stat should be with a number next to it in red ... that is what the stat = for you at that lvl ...

Correction. You should be able to equip the item. However I have found that you get a "Your race/class/deity cannot equip this item" error when your level doesn't match the recommened min. All I get from GM's is "Things are not always what they seam" And in my experience that mean the GM doesn't have a clue and it's more than likely a bug with the system. Some items you can equip before the recommened level and some you can't....

That only happens with items from the revamped Temple of Cazic Thule. All of the tradeskilled items with recommended levels are equippable at lvl 1. Although, at level one, banded would have better stats :)
Reply about Blue Diamonds
# Jul 26 2002 at 7:00 AM Rating: Good
Someone earlier posted this statement:

"Actually, the only "rare" drop for this armor is Blue Diamonds (3 needed)."

Well, actually, you'll probably need a hell of a lot more than 3 Blue Diamonds for this. Blue Diamonds have to go through a 4 teir process to make this armor.

Teir 1 - Combined with Jar of Acid to make Blue Diamond Powder (pottery skill, trivial at about 95)

Teir 2 - Blue Diamond Powder is combined with Purified Water to make Celestial Temper (brewing skill, trivial at 136)

Teir 3 - Celestial Temper is combined with other items to make an Infused High Quality Ring (smithing skill, trivial at 176)

Teir 4 - Three Infused High Quality Rings are combined with other items to make the Fierce Heraldic Breastplate (smithing skill, no trivial)

With all the steps you have to go through, and considering your failute rate on the final combine, I've seen numerous smiths with over 230 skill suggest that you start with at least 10 blue diamonds when attempting this piece or the Leggings.
RE: Reply about Blue Diamonds
# Jul 27 2002 at 2:14 PM Rating: Decent
You also have to keep in mind the tempers needed for this armor...

With Jaggedpine just released, Griffene blood will become a little more common, true...

But the Essence of Sunlight has been my bottleneck in making these armors. Each temper requires 2, and on a good day I may find 1-3 of these for sale, the drops even harder
RE: Reply about Blue Diamonds
# Dec 05 2002 at 4:11 PM Rating: Decent
I was able to get my BP made with only three blue diamonds total. I just made sure that the people doing all of the combines had high skill numbers.

As for the final combine I wouldn't even dream of using anybody that isn't 250 or better at smithing. If you can't get the blue diamonds to drop from MOB's then plan on spending anywhere from 700 - 1000 pp each. I spent almost 4k getting all of the components together. For that kind of money I wouldn't even dream about letting someone attempt to raise their smithing skill with your materials.

Best Regards,

Krushu Atrociter
RE: Reply about Blue Diamonds
# Jan 23 2003 at 11:42 PM Rating: Default
Essance of Sunlight is by far the rarest of all the items needed for this armor. Blue Diamonds are pretty easy to farm in PoG and quite a few other areas. A single 55+ group in PoG can walk away with 4 or 5 BDs in a few hours easily. Also, farming in Hate and Fear generally yields not only BDs, but alot of useless class armor that can be turned in for an additional shot at BDs. My guild generally walks away with about 20 pieces of unusable armor from a single Hate raid and on average can get 15 or so BDs from drops and armor turn ins per raid.
All Heraldic Armors
# Jul 11 2002 at 6:18 PM Rating: Excellent
All Heraldic armors are human cultural, and yes, only humans can make them. The Fierce (Rallos Zek) piece just happens to be one a large assortment of races can wear.

I personally would recommend having a skill of 215+ to even attempt these armors, or else you will be wasting a good deal of materials for one piece.

For information on these please visit:
http://www.eqtraders.com and look under the Cultural section. I advise against posting questions like "how can I make..." on the EQTraders message boards, it will just get you a good deal of "READ THE SITE" comments =)

No this is human cultural armor, only humans can make it.

Barbarians can only make armor for Tribunal worshippers.

This might sound stupid (and if you or someone can point somthing out that I may have over looked?) but if Barb War can only make armor for Tribunal Worshippers. (and as I remember from about a year ago when I made my barb war) Then why was I lock into only having Rallos Zek as my God? if I am not going to be able to make any armor that I can use?

I have about 167 Skill in smithing and stoped months ago when I found out that there was nothing worth making to improve myself. I have been waiting to see something come out that I can make for myself drop this stupid crafted armor.

RE: very nice player made bp
# Jun 25 2002 at 7:13 AM Rating: Decent
No you needed to start smithing 3 weeks ago, when getting the required skill was manegable. Now you are looking at hundreds of hours of working at skill and a good chunk of PP to get any decend chance at making this.

Personally I charge 30k and 10 blue diamonds for the barbarian BP.

even with the recomended lvl of 45, would the stats still be relativly high even at lower lvls like the 20's, i mean since the base ac is high would it still be usefull to a low lvl player?

At level 25 you better have some really friendly smiths, a main in an ubber guild, or just be really really rich. These things run about 30+k and the items required to make them drop off of high lvl mobs. Don't know specifics, but if it's anything like the new tailoring stuff, there's a few things for it that drop off lvl 60-63 mobs.
Actually...
# Jun 25 2002 at 6:46 AM Rating: Decent
Actually, the only "rare" drop for this armor is Blue Diamonds (3 needed). Whatever you assumed about the rest of the drops you are totally wrong.

This, in itself, explains the costs. It requires several different combines for each blue diamond before the armor is made. And with 3 blue diamonds in this item, it adds up to 7 different places where one can fail and waste a blue diamond worth quite a lot on any server. Except in the last step, which has a high failure rate and can waste all 3 of them.

A player around lvl 25 wearing this should be getting 20-25ac id guess and similar toned down stats. It would be equivalent of a treeweave - with the difference that the player would have the luxury of having a piece of gear that grow with him/her - very nice.
