This armor is so nice. Its like the best Droppable armor you can get on an Ogre sk. Im sure theres better here and there but its such nice armor. Ive wanted these legs on the TUNARE server so long but they're 24,000p =[ If anyone has any or if you're an ogre GM smith, send me a tell i'd be willing to give you the combines and plat to make these
Not to burst your bubble, but all trade skills increases are based off a primary stat, either int or wis, whichever is higher. Secondary stats, such as dex for tailoring, str for smithing, can effect skill ups, but in the end first and foremost its your int or wis. Least thats what I have read, and seen in game.
I agree with Zabath, STR does factor into raising skill if it is the highest. I have been working on my ogre sk to be able to make this sweet armor. When I was doing the combines he had 251-255 str depending on the buff and like 95 int (i know i need to work on it). It took me one evening to get to 115 smithing (banded trivial) and the following evening to get to 188 (fp trivial).
I have seen a post by the person in charge of tradeskills at VI stating very clearly that skillups is based on the highest stat you have that apply to the skill in question. For smithing it could be either STR, INT or WIS.
My ogre warrior with 245 str took about two hours in shadowhaven to get to 85 smithing. His wis and int were probably not many points above the minimum for an ogre war at the time.
Not all that relevant, but saw an ogre smith reporting to have 242 skill in 18 days 46 minutes /played. I am sure that was using multible accounts, but still.
Yes it is harder to get to 175 (number about to change soon), but after that the can use the bazaar like everyone else. Even up to 175 reqiures just a bit of shadowhaven faction work.
Of any class/race combo, Ogre shamans have the easists, with their high nat strength, and the cha/str buffs.
Ogre's may be the best Smiths in the game, as this trade skill is based on Str. My Ogre SK with str at 224 and int at 150 ( all gear induced ) has leveled his smithing skill rather quickly.
He just has to remember to switch to Cha gear when sellin the product to vender.
