Confirmed FT2 neck still drops. First time we killed him was tonight, and it dropped along with hammer and sleeves.

the FT15 cap did come from a statement from VI, in it they said that at that time that two of the same FTs didn't stack (it was fixed 1-2 patches after the statement was made as was stated in the statement) also in the statement they said that the biggest FT on an item at the time was 5, so at the time the cap was 15. 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 = 15. this number was outdated the week it came out by the statement it came out in. i would be interested in knowing how a log could prove mana regeneration as no mana totals/ increases/ decreases/ etc. are noted in your log. logs are further unreliable because of lvl 20-30 specilization, which makes the mana taken per spell random (if only by a small degree). the only way i know how to test it is to sit down with a stopwatch and time how long it takes to go from OOM to FM with 15 FT and above 15 FT.

It's been reported there that there doesn't seem to be a cap to the amount of FT you can have.

Or, in other words, if you can get up to 27 in FT, you do get 27mana/tick.

(and yes, provided you get the right uber items, you can get to at least 27FT, and probably a little more. Hint: The collar above is on the list of the items you need to max FT)

Acording to people I know that have multiple FT items all FT effects stack, including multiple FT effects of the same type. I expect some time in the future that VI will correct this to match what they have stated in the past about FT not stacking with other FT effects of the same level, though multiple FT effects stacking dosen't seem unballancing IMHO.

oh my prescious <Insert Drool here>, what a beautiful collar you are<Insert Drool here>, any cleric/druid/shammy would be glad to have one of these<Insert Drool here>, but I think shammy's should be the most pleased<Insert Drool here>, heck I know a few mid-lvl melee classes that would come to your house and beat you up if it meant they'd get one of these<Insert Drool here>

dang I wish I was uber enough for these uber raids.....curse my limited avaliable playing time!

-if anyone wants to invite me along to loot these uber items contact Seeing Manslayer of the Children of Disorder on Karana....<crosses fingers>

Well, while all casting classes benefit from FT, most shaman I know would rather get more regeneration than more FT, due to their conversion of HP to mana (Cannibalise IV).

No, at the level at which you play to get this, you'll have to kill all your guild's clerics to get one :)

As a shaman with torpor, a few extra hp/tick is useful, but not really vital. The same goes for ft items to be honest and even KEI is nice to have, but hardly your main source of mana. True with FT15 and KEI, if you can get them without sacrificing AC/HP, they are nice to have. 1 Malo and 1 Slow is 600 mana though on every mob, not counting frequent resists, and with a fast pull rate clear the way to a boss mob, you need to get mana faster than these offer.

Mana Comes from Canni 4 and later Canny 5, and for really high end shaman Canni 5 is very important to equipment choices.

Canni 5 is a massive hp to mana AAXP skill. It converts 1924 hp to 1200 mana.

If your HP pool is only around 2K self buffed or 3K cleric buffed, using it in many situations is suicidal.

If you can gain an extra 1khp from both STA and HP items, taking you up to 3K (self) and 4K (raid), the choices of when you can use Canni 5 increase dramatically.

In a solo situation, when on full hp, hit torpor and then canni5. In a raid situation, hiting canni 5 will not cause auto agro on you from low hp, so can be used when fighting non-AE mobs, and maybe with torpor running with AE mobs as well if timed right.

This neck items offers 12 STA (36 hp) and 75 hp, 111 hp in total. Add to it some rings or earings from CT, a Vindi BP etc, and you will get your 4K hp raid buffed, hopefully more.
The AC is useful, when I surpassed 1100 AC in normal exp grps, the damage I took compared to when I was at 1030AC was significantly reduced.
1250AC is currently my goal, with 4500 HP raid buffed ;)

question
# May 24 2002 at 5:05 PM Rating: Default
is it true that the total FT you can have (from combinations of FT items) is 15?
RE: question
# May 24 2002 at 5:35 PM Rating: Good
yes, most people consider 15 to be the upper limit, i think someone said the cap of 15 was removed, but there are very few that can test this since more than 15FT is hard to attain.

I think the general oppinion now is that any FT stacks with any other FT. Meaning two FT1 items stack, and also FT1 and FT2 stacks.
RE: question
# May 25 2002 at 3:28 PM Rating: Default
Two Flowing Thought I items will not stack with each other, it's the same effect. A Flowing Thought I and a Flowing Thought II will stack with each other though, otherwise the FT15 cap is kinda pointless if none of 'em stack ;)
RE: question
# May 25 2002 at 5:11 PM Rating: Default
Actually, you're incorrect. 2 FT1 items will stack. Ask your local uber guild's wizard if ya don't believe me, he's sure to have around FT15.

FT1+FT1+FT1+FT1 = 4 mana per tick
