WHY!!!!
# Feb 02 2004 at 5:27 PM Rating: Default
Why why why!

Why did they have to give this a 1 second cast time. This effect is pure stupidety if its not instaclicky (to protect against progressive debuffs.)

Not only does it take away from the fun factor, it makes the effect basically worthless.

Oh well, still a nice neck item.

GA doesn't stack with the ranger HP+ATK buff line Strength of the Gladewalker. However it Does stack with the self buff Protection line (which is a consolidatory self buff of CoS, SotG, GotP, and SoS. So it's a useful lil clicky for rangers!

this is why...

Take CoV faction people to west wing, use Gozzrem for the testing. Everyone put your instaclick items away and do not use them.

Camp out a cleric

Fight Gozzrem

Now, you will have lost, log cleric back in and rez. Put instaclick buff up and then get buffed.
Now fight gozzrem and use instaclick whenever he debuffs you.

=P

Sure I am responding to an old post but....

-Take CoV faction people to west wing

-Camp out a cleric

Why camp out a cleric if the cleric is on good CoV faction? :p
Just stand around the corner.

#REDACTED, Posted: May 27 2002 at 6:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) question? what's a crappy effect like that doing on a kick **** necklace like this? at the higher lvls this necklace is made for 7-10 extra atk don't mean squat...you either have enough atk....or you don't...and the margin is a LOT wider than 7-10 atk points....the necklace is nice...but good grief....get a useful effect or no effect...don't tease the warriors, the concussions have left them not so smart

Instant click items are used in the high game mainly for the instant refresh of the top buff(s), not the actual effect. When facing dragons, they often have an AE dd + dispell. If you don't have one of these items, you will start to loose very important buffs.

I'm a wizard and I use a shrunken goblin earring to refresh a buff once it's dispelled. I have no need or use for the actual effect, I only use it to prevent my more important buffs (Like Aego, KEI, Focus, BmB etc) from being dispelled.

The thing about the SGE, is, it needs to be worn, in order to use the effect. That means I have to wear an item that has no stats of interest or use for an int caster. This neck item is awesome for the avatar that wears it, as it can free up another slot.

*edit* I just saw that this effect has a 1 second cast time. Hmmm, that's slightly pointless.

As a wizard, you have a better effect in your spellbook. The lvl 16 Heat Sight is self only. Meaning you don't have to loose your target to rebuff. I have found that I do not need an insta-click item, period. Maybe in the WAY high upper end game. But not for the dragons in ToV...

Yes, this may be true, but this WASTES a slot which could have a better spell. You'll find out that you may need to use your whole spell bar and wish you had even more.

If you are killing this mob, you want an effect you can afford to say bye-bye to and get a quick recast. this is a perferct one.

Um guys,

This Item freaking ROCKS!!! Who cares about its effect. the stats alone are un-f*(&^( believable! Jeez o peats get over it. not every item will have the nexy "uber" stats. The statistics on this are excellent, the ac is excellent, the HP and mana are excellent. If I could get this item I'd jut about fall out of my chair.

Its good to have a clickable effect incase your fighting a debuff mob, that way they only debuff your clicky.

No other real use than that.

#REDACTED, Posted: May 24 2002 at 5:32 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) They thought it would be too good with instant cast? sometimes how they make their items puzzles me :(

I would prefer to believe they got rid of insta-cast to keep the jerk-offs who spam people from being able to do so any longer.

Toss a couple levels on and go on a real dragon raid and youll be loving insta click. Once that dispel aoe comes around youll be loving it.

And all these evil bastards that spam with insta click.... heh. Turn off your particle effects, look at the ground until they leave...*shrug* hardly a problem to cry about.

Mistakes have been made before with insta-cast items, the most famous being the Circlet of Shadow. (R.I.P)
Some effects are simply too powerful when they are instantaneous, and the item designers are really cautious about this now.
That's why i think insta-cast will continue to be a rare, marvelous, and prized thing.
Even if the only use for them is to have fakes when fighting an AoE dispelling target.

And this has nothing to do with the above paragraph, but i wanted to warn my fellow monks about something.
After 76 hours of Drachnist camp, i discovered that Grim Aura is NOT stackable with the monk epic effect.
Not that this would make me reject this necklace if it was given to me of course, it rocks without the effect.

Sorry about my grammar, i'm french you know, and while we rock at most things, foreign languages do not belong to the list.

Heya Frenchie!
Sadly, your grammar is better than most native English speakers!

And so that this message is not totally out of place, this necklace rules.
