I agree this weapon is very underated. It's the highest dps magic tradeable weapon a pal/shd can use (2nd highest for War)!
IMO, I wouldn't use this unless I was soloing or trying to keep aggro: the delay is so low if you have decent haste (I have 41%) that even without hitting taunt I can't keep aggro off me (even without casting spells.)
In any case, it goes for 4K on Prexus server & it's well worth it.

A friend of mine loaned me his Savage Stone Axe last night to play around with for a bit. As you can see from my profile, I am a lvl 40 Troll SK, who worships Innoruk. For some reason it would not let me equip it, stating that it was not usable by my class, race, deity combination. Anyone have any idea why this is so? From everything I can see, I should be able to wield it, unless I am missing something.
Oops .. Just read the last post. Obviously you have to be lvl 51 to wield it. Sorry about that ...

Looks like strength of Grodan... Looks like one of those axes cavemen use =). Got mine at lv 50 and now that I dinged 51 I can finally use it. Awesome weap and for some reason its underrated.... Saw it goin for 10k and imo it should be worth more.

The item description says SHD/All can equip but my Dark Elf Shadowknight cant equip it (incorrect class, deity, etc message)

Recommended level of 51. Means something more like REQUIRED level of 51.

I just bought this weapon on E'CI server for 4K from a dude desperate for cash. This weapon is by FAR the best weapon I've ever had for 2hs.
At lvl 58 as a DE SK with unbuffed strength of 152 and max 2hs skill (for my lvl) I have yet to hit for under 100 and consistently hit for 130+ with a max hit for about 170 (so far)

Drops off "an ooze covered ritualist" in the old metal golem area. I know because I killed it and now use this axe. Yellow at 55 and it was a shaman. update (and pic) sent in to Illia.

33 36 is not bad and sta8 hp65 is really cool :)
anyone else notice that VI seems to be keeping the ratio of new 2 handed weapons about the same, but lowering the delay? If I remember correctly weapons with delay less than 40 don't get the 2 handed bonus damage. Still, lower delay means more swings which means the basic bonus for damage based on level gets used more often. Anyone care to give an opinion which they thing is better damage wise? (or agro wise, as most people using a 2 hander in raids don't want the agro comming to them. Just massive damage ;)

I prefer the higher damage with a higher delay. I'm using a runed frost blade right now at 38th and I can turn out some obscene damage with it - up to 250 damage on a double hit and an average of around 140 damage on a double hit.
Even though I'm wearing silver chittin hand wraps, I usually don't steal aggro unless I taunt or start chain casting my SK spells on something when I'm teamed up with a warrior or a ranger, although, if I'm only with a rogue or a pally/SK, I've got aggro without issues - I was with a buddy who had a centi spear which was definately faster than me, but did less damage - she could not take aggro from me unless she taunted *AND* cast spells, so it would appear that one needs to hit a mob twice as often to out aggro raw damage.
Another thing to take into account is that if a weapon has a higher delay, it will get a far higher damage bonus - just pick up a weighted axe to see what I mean - while 140 is my average damage with the rune frost blade, around 250 to 300 is my average with the weighted axe and I have had single hits with that sucker for 200+ at just 38th level - can't wait to see what it'll be doing in another few levels.

A friend of mine has this weapon and I have the axe of aggression, its 43/50 21 bonus @lvl 51, this is 33/36 14bonus@lvl 51 I've figured out the DPS, it's:
Axe of aggression - 43+21= 64/50= 12.8 DPS
Savage stone axe - 33+14= 47/36= 13.06 DPS
DPs is higher on Savage stone axe, plus the benefit of 65hp, and 8sta= more HP, but if your raiding and your not the main tank, it will be hard for the tank to keep the aggro off you, AoA is almost as good without the HP and without the agg, however this slight difference in DPS, i didn't notice when I used it. i bought my AoA for 5k, he bought SSA for 4k.
also, im not sure but i think my dmg bonus on AoA will rise quicker than one on SSA, so @lvl 60 AoA might have a better DPS than SSA

The damage bonus does not actually go into damage, thus not effecting the ratio, so it that is not correct info.

It drops in Cazic Thule, thats all I know as my 56 monk has not been there yet but on Mith Marr, there are already a few on the market and if you ask the sellers, they usually tell you.

Ummm Clueless This isnt a VI websight. In order to get a pic the person that found it needs take a pic and send it in with the info. Dont blast VI because your not smart enough to figure out how the sight works.
