# Nov 02 2002 at 10:24 PM Rating: Decent
if you have Planes of Power its easy,.. I had to go to North Qeynos there is a shop called, The Cobbler that sells boots of all kinds that are merchant buyable. He has the "Cloth Shoes"

level 30 fists become magical. Kicks are considered special attacks and are always magical

Sorry, Kicks are only magical with magical boots. Round Kick, Tiger Claw, Eagle Strike, Dragon Punch/Tail Rake, and Flying Kick are innately magical, but ordinary kicks are not, they require magical boots.
not bad

Note the MAGIC tag... these let your newbie Monk kick/roundkick those willowisps.

These and the gloves (also 'magic') are a pretty good way to get started, and as there's no class-armour quest for Monks like Crafted/Darkmail/Ro... the whole Stonehand set can keep a young Monk going a long time (I'm still wearing the pants at lvl 30, simply because I can't find a better AC/weight ratio that's worth the camp) :o)

You can roundkick them barefeet. Kicks have always been considered magic. :)

Actually, that's half-right. Monk special attacks are considered magical. However, this was not always the case. Making special attacks(and fists at some level# which I don't remember) came in a patch well into the game. For a long time Monks had to search out magical gloves and shoes in order to hit magic-only creatures. You'll find a lot of long-time players who can recall searching long and hard for a pair of Wolf-fur slippers or Dwarven Workboots :)

Bare monk fists are not considered magical until lvl 30. So for pre-lvl 30, magical gloves like Wu's are important if you want to fight stuff like willowwisps.
