As a 75 druid, I still love this item. I keep it in my inventory all of the time. When I'm just travelling through zones and don't want to use up my mana, spell slot or my AA Exodus, this is a great clicky to have!

I have been using one of these for a while, but in the last week I have noticed that 70 - 80 % of the time, someone gets left behind ! once, it was ME !!

Now, I know that LS CAN leave someone behind, but this often ? makes it kinda useless. I have now reverted back to using the spell, and no one gets left now.

Has anyone else noticed this ??

Saw a note on the EQ Druids Tips and Tricks forum today that said that if clerics have Divine Aura up, or if a bard is singing their DA song, they will not port with you. Could be the same deal with this.

Yes, it is quite apparent from that cartoon overlay, which any oracle of symbolic interpretation, such as you apparently are, could clearly divine. They must be on the team that dresses stylishly and perhaps actually goes out on a Friday and Saturday night with friends instead of sitting at home glued to their computer while empty pizza boxes pile up around them. Is that the "other team" you were referring to Edontulate?

After reading this post and the one above, I was so taken back that I forgot what item I had looked up on this page. Am I the only one who gets caught up in post and reads all the way to the bottom to the very first post? If so, what a shame; there are so many old, forgotten, hilarious posts out there. Really.

So, Misty Glaze is needed for this item. Wonderful, that's the info I needed. I've been wondering for a long time what the Opal Powder in my bank was used for.

This item is awesome to have simply for the fact that you don't have to waste a spell slot on a succor/evac type spell. My UI has extra inventory and gear slots next to the hotboxes so I just need to right click on the item to get it to work. Yes LS takes longer to cast but I would gladly wait a little longer, save a spell slot, AND give up a main inventory slot for this little life saver. Yes it does take mana from you and party members after the succor but it takes NO mana to actually cast the item. Just my 2 cents.

The people stating in messages below that this item is mana free have obviously not used one of these. It is not mana free.

I just got one and tried it from primary, secondary, and also from inventory...all three times it used the same mana as casting the spell. Happily, the effect will still go off even if you're completely OOM.

I'm a little disappointed, as the main reason I bought it was thinking of a mana free way to travel across some zones. I plan on hanging on to it for the sheer conveniance of never having to stop and memorize the spell, but frankly my knee-jerk reaction is that it wasn't worth the 800pp I paid for it in the Bazaar. Maybe I'll feel differently tomorrow.

Incorrect. Or at least incorrectly stated. The effect is mana free. If everyone is out of mana, it will still succor the party.

However, similar to the Spell, mana is drained from all members of the party, including the caster.

My kind guild leader makes these free of charge for all our Druids and Wizards.

I have it hotkeyed and it always sits in my first slot, next to my backpacks. No need to equip it to use it.

It's casting time is the same as the spell at lvl 18.

People may ***** about this item and say it is useless, but I never leave Rivervale without it and it has saved my butt and my group's collective butts, many times.

IMO: A great item to have stashed away on your person.

I'd use this in a heartbeat. I always like to keep up a wide enough variety of spells for any situation in a raid/soloing. Would make life easier not having to mem the damn spell either. I use lesser evac as a quick way to get from Point A ---> point B also. Hell with you people that aren't overjoyed about having a free clicky-port. And definitely to HELL with that warrior or whoever that refuses to rely on a porting class. If you ask me - warriors are the useless ones. (That one anyway) I'd rather have a shadowknight anyway.

If im not mistaken, Lessor Succor, the levl 18 druid Evac, it has the same casting time as this Cruciable of Escape does. So if you think im wrong, click on Spells. Put in level 18, class druid and youll see for yourself! So stop yer whining

Honestly, as a wizard, i would never buy one of these for 2 main reasons. 1) on a raid, i am never 00m. KEI, PoTG, Flappy, Manaskin, and harvest make it hard to go 00m without pulling agro before you do. If i was to nuke from FM to 00m i would pull agro off a warrior like he it was nothing, therefore, i am not 00m when the evac time comes so manaless evac is not an issue.
2) as of lvl 54, there are only a select few spells that are even of any use, i end up meming things like root and snare simply to fill slots. On a raid lvl mob, stuns are of no use, druid/rangers/necros/SK's have a single target snare, as opposed to my AE snare which can bring unsuspected adds as well as pull the adds that are already there onto me, root is never a viable option in a raid that i have ever seen, i have no buffs to give anyone, and i have 1 ice based lure, one magic based draught, one fire draught, one tear, and harvest, giving me 3 spots to fill with junk, evac has more than plenty of room on my spell bar.

Well what really blows my mind is the 20sec cast hehe kind of defeats the purpose of succor all togethor, I could understand if other classes could use the thing, but it's the succoring classes only so why not make a reasonable cast time on it. could us it in a dire situation when they are OOM

casting time is 10.5 i've used on several occasions when im out soloing and i run into a bad situation (never have gate memmed) and i live just fine. very handy thing.

From what I understand, only DRU/WIZ can activate this, whether it be from their inventory or equipped. So no luck there (the price on it would definitely increase if anyone could use it from their inventory).

You can use this from inventory because it doesn't have the (Must Equip) message beside the effect. I'm 99% sure on this.

LOL! Save yourself time by acquiring the AA skill...that's rather akin to saying to a rank newbie, "Don't bother to loot that rusty scimitar, just quest your epic and save yourself the hassle."

On a more serious note, if you don't already have an evac memmed, chances are that if the situation is desperate enough to warrant using one, sitting to mem an evac will just bring swift death onto you, ******** you and sealing your group's fate (unless there's more than one evac'er present). Any druid worth his salt will always have an evac loaded while grouping unless it's wildly inappropriate -- I personally keep Gate up, as well. Having access to this item can allow you to cast a succor for no mana and without consuming a spell slot (unlike my Wizard counterparts, I frequently find myself wanting for spell slots on raids) with the addition of only 1.5 seconds of cast time, which is negligible.

It's true that in some zones the succor point could be hazardous to some or all of your group members, but barring that exception, this is a great item. I propound that it is one of the best player-made items, certainly among the best made with Pottery.

your drunk arent you? it's an extremly usefull item. free spell slot, works from inventory, not *bad* casting time for a manaless port, and relativley cheap. on druzzil ro they sell for 500 tops.

Though I don't know for sure, common consensus seems to be that this item can be activated from the general inventory slot.

Common uses may be Evacing when OOM, though people may frown at using all of their mana, don't have it (mana) if you're not going to use it! Owning this item will allow you to go OOM before evacing and greater increase the safty of your group. Also, for manafree travel from zone line to zone line.

The Misty glave is trivial not long after 200, the Crucible itself isn't even trivial at 222, I don't know its trival. Good luck Grandmaster Potters!

what is a readly viable source for the kunzar bones needed for making the glaze i am a master potter (rogue) who is seeking the components to make the glaze i have several crucibles unfired sitting in my bank waiting to be fired

As far as I know the only source for kunzar bones is filleting(sp) kunzar koi (fishing skill around 170sh), which are fished in Old Sebilis. This might be problematic for most classes. Was trivial with my necromancer. DMF, invis, zone in, run down a bit, jump off bridge. There is a small ledge to go FD and fish until you got as much kunzar koi as you like.

No need to FD...nothing aggroed me while I was on the ledge for over 4 hours...and I even went AFK for a couple of minutes. Perfectly safe spot to fish from.

Dumbest statement I've ever heard, sometimes it comes down to casting that last heal for the tank or that last nuke to finish the mob off, when you're oom, its takes about 2 extra seconds to equip this in your primary/secondary, shorter if you have a hot key for it, but seeing as how you're stupid enough to post something like that, then you're probably too stupid to know you can hotkey inventory items to switch out when you want them to.

I'm about to make one of these for myself. I'm 99.9% sure you can use it from an inventory slot. As a Druid, I usually have 6 spells memmed during a raid, that leaves me with 2 slots to swap in and out buff spells which is a pain, and that's without an evac spell memmed. Add in evac and I'm down to one. Freeing up one space is worth alot to me.

Sure its slightly slower than a true evac spell (which are 9 sec I believe), but at least you stay in same zone, and don't have to run back to the zone you were fighting in.

In high risk areas, I'd go with the 9 sec one since in 1.5 sec your whole party can die, but overall I'd say this item is still worthwhile to have.

I'm a level 55 Wizard and I use the lesser Succor a lot. Usually at the end of the adventure to take people back to the zone entrance. This is most useful in zones like Sebilis where people like to keep fighting up to the last second, or some one says "I gotta go." To me, once I"m in a zone where my jboots don't work, I'd be moving this to the same slot. Easy access, and boom, outta there.

Just my two cents. This is primarliy a convenience item, nothing more. Just one less spell to have to memorize.

Well it's kind of the point not to let people do that. You don't see them giving wizards any +250% 2h bashers with 30/30 ratio and stats either, which is what would be required for a wizzy to melee decently. Still usefull, saves me a gem for something else while aiding.

Ok the plus 250% thing is bogus, but you might wanna check out high end caster weapons, 30/30 would be nothing special. rofl take a look on the sight you are posting on sometime.

uh yeah they do, many weapons in luclin with sick stats like 17/19 1hb. tons of stats..and Mag only..and I know there are cleric/shaman weapons that are the same. But..just like thurgadin gate potions there should be more gate potions that are all/all that anyone could make, like a little quest like the thurgadin ones. And I know everyone would kill to have an item..crafted too..that let you succor

the key part was the +250% 2hb, not the ratio. the ratio means squat when your weapon skill is capped at 110.

the reason this and similar items are restricted to classes that already have the ability is to make it more convenient to use the ability. If everyone could use every ability by getting items, then what would be the point?

damage like a rogue; ac and hp like a warrior; buffs like the shaman; druid AND wizard ports; necro pet; and right click, manaless, 0 casting time complete heal. hell, skip the buffs and just have 1 item that gives +255 to all stats and resists.

it is easy to whine that some other class has all the good stuff and you get stuck with the crap. but if that were really true, you would just make a new char of that class. so quicherbichin and get over it. you really want to be a druid, then just be a damn druid. And if you want to be a whatever you are now also, then just buy another computer and second account, and be both. Worked wonders for me.

I tend to agree with the original poster. It might make no sense to let every class somehow get every ability that every other class gets (though I could debate that too in another thread somewhere), but something as simple as Succor or Gate? Why should thosae be so unattainable for non-casting classes? I can gate already anytime I want - all I have to do is die, and I magically appear back at my bind point. Granted, books, camps, nexus have all made travel a LOT easier than it was 3 or 4 years ago. I stopped playing my ranger for a long time just because it was such a pain to run him through 3 or 4 zones to fight, get encumbered, run 3 or 4 zones back just to sell and bank, then run all the way back again; it was much easier just to make a druid that could port all over the place after a few weeks of grinding. But still, with all the stuff that higher-level players can achieve with AA, tribute, or whatever, why is gating or succoring so out of the question? From a role-playing perspective, is it so unimaginable that a ranger, masters of the outdoors, could for example pray to karana to turn him/her into a bolt of lightning and flash across the sky to a destination? Or that a rogue could "shadow-warp" to another part of a zone? The fact that they made the thurgadin gate quest establishes a precedent, and proves that there is at least some rationale to this. They really need to expand on this IMHO

I'm sure he found it out the easy way, he went and started his own Ethernal Quest server and added some items to his database, noticed that (as it was set up to be) any value over 127 becomes negative (easiest way to fit both negative and positive values in only 1 byte)

They can now tie effects from items to specific races/classes. They did so with the mask of the deceiver. You no longer have to equip it to use the de illusion, but only rogues and bards can use it from the inventory. Gives you a message that you are not of the appropriate race/class to use this item if used by a non rogue/bard from the inventory.

One of the things I noticed about a bunch of the new items like this out there. None of them say Must Equip. Does this mean a warrior can cast lesser succor? I doubt it, but hey.. would be nice
