I got all the items together with my necro but they wouldn't combine in the curing kit. is the recipe given by the NPC messed up?

Probably not, a common problem with this quest is that the various peices of armor require different kinds of bile. There are(i think) 4 different types of bile. Ebon Drake Bile, Young Ebon Drake Bile, Ebon Drakeling Bile, and (mature/adult) Ebon Drake Bile.
For this armor set it is one of the first 3. Just make sure you're using the correct bile, the correct number of silk thread, recluse silks, etc.
