Well, that is because these are onlt the HUM and HEF newb armor and weapon quests. I am pretty sure that Halas has some warrior quests for you, might want to try your homeland =)

On Firiona Vie, I played almost 20 levels before I was able to aquire my first magic sword. That sword was 24/6 and I was real excited to have it. If only they had this quest back when I was a youngin'. Obviously twinks aren't going to get too excited about this, but to a first-time player or someone new to a server with no possessions, this is excellent. This sword is 27/6 and hey...now you can finally kill willowisps.
I play an untwinked warrior. This sword is nice, i just 'learned ' the dual wield abilty and it's a great combo with the giant militia long sword that the warrior has.
During this quest I was lucky enough to score a two handed bronze sword and a lot of other bronze weapons that I could sell for okay plat. I also upgraded to a Giant Militia Longsword which is awesome for me. Could this jagged blade be a good secondary melee weapon for me (lvl 11 warrior)
would be a much better primary with the Milita sword in Secondary.

ok now w/ this in mind just to get this you gota go camp or buy! all these quest items just to get your upgrade to 6/27 what a joke. how are you supost to take out a giant scarb or camp lions G. fire bettles etc w/ a crap wep. like that? omg come on Ver. at least make it worth all that work for the lower make it 6/20 or 7/24 or something shessh what a lame quest... mainly im steamed cause i did it lol i wasnt a new newbie but still all that work even for me simi twinked was a pain id had to see a real newb try all that blah ok im done

I have to agree with you it was a real pain to gather some of the items as a new newbie warrior. The only thing I had going for me was a banded orc vest i got as a gift from a rogue(My own higher lvl rogue). Other than that My warrior is/was untwinked. Well okay so he also happen to get cutthroat insignia rings for free and a bag or two of crappy weapons to sell, but thats beside the point. :)
Back when I started my first character, His first weapon upgrade was a velium morningstar. He got it at lvl 11 or so. It was 8dmg, 38dly. I did fine with that for quite some time. A ratio 4.5 weapon is pretty decent for an UNTWINKED player. At least this way, they don't have to compete with the twinked players for the drops. The mobs around freeport have not gotten any harder, and the gear has just kept getting better. A newbie player with this weapon would be in fine shape. No he couldn't solo like a twink in crafted with a centi ls, but he'll be able to level fine equipped with this. Also, since it's not a high damage weapon, the warrior's weapon skills will rise faster, since it will take more swings to kill the mob. Nothing funnier than watching the lvl 1 twink with a lammy/jade mace, level up to 10 in a few hours, then start having trouble soloing light blues, because the weapon skill and offense skill are down around 15-25.

ok i have a lvl 45 druid 53 warrior a 37 rogues and had tons of 19 lowers but fo all of my characters i never twink i never ask for items or anything i earn everything i get every time. you know like back when you didnt want to get to lvl 50 in two weeks ive had this game since it came out and my most twinked player was my first player you know the one that asked can i have some spare change please sir.

For an untwinked newbie this weapon is great. What do you mean make it a 6/20 or a 7/24? Why dont they just make the BP 25 ac then and give it a right click effect? Because this is a newbie quest...do you remember the days when you had patchwork armor on you made from those ruined pelts and were swinging that cracked staff because it was the best wep the orcs/gnolls/skels dropped? As for "how are you supost to take out giant scarb or camp lions G. fire beetles etc w/ a crap wep..." there was a day when people clad in rubicite wielding ssoys broke into Hate. Let the newbies have their fun and dont talk bad about their little sticker.
Ok this is a good weapon compared to some of the others I've seen (cough cough human rogue) but it's nothing compared to the human SK or human/half elf bard weapon (8/30 Magic 1HS). Still, just because your level 3 warrior isn't running around with full Ry'Gorr chain armor and a Centi LS doesn't mean he sucks. It just means they are starting the "real" way, and working their way up to buy/find/quest for these much better items. Still, it is nice to have a level 60 walk up to you and give you some nice equipment... =)

ok, i haven't been a newb for a while now, but is like fine steel weapons better than this? I would hope that at least a tarnished 1hs is better than this ratio. I understand they don't deserver a lammy or ne thing, but atleast give them a crappy weapon with like a bane dmg stat. My shammy i started back in the day did the quest from halas to qeynos to get a unlimited charged spell for like summon hammer spell that clerics get. it had a undead dmg addition to it so atleast when walking through everfrost I could have a slightly better chance of fending off those vengefuls and crap. (flame 0 here)
This is not bad at all for a weapon attainable at level 8. The Langseax/LoTW quest (Langseax is also 6/27 IIRC) is a level 20ish quest itself.
It's pretty obvious that this is the best (or one of the best) of the new Newbie Weapon quests. It would be nice if they were balanced a little better, in my opinion. Oh well.
