This actually drops off one of the named commanders during the 8th shawl 'battle' while following the little general across the Ice Clad zone from EW bridge to the gnome encampment.
Might it be true ?

What you might be missing is the faint possibility that this might indeed -brace yourselves- help a Bard regain mana faster. I've so far tried every other method (excepting AA) to arificially regain mana, nothing but sitting on my bardic butt has worked so far, though.
It's not that big of an issue anymore with the faster mana regeneration Luclin brought, but still nice to see a cast-iron limitation of Bards -possibly- being broken.

We like breaking the rules, you know ;-)

Get a beastlord crack , it and a druid spell , i think its called protection of the cabbage or something, (i play on sullon zek as an evil diety so i dont play with druids)will both regen a bards mana unlike clarity spells. flowing thought also helps regen bards mana faster. Alot of bards are unaware of this, i told a 60+ bard in my guild and he still didnt know about it.

I am also interested in this possibility. Since the change of Solon's charm kiting has become very difficult, easier in the aspect of the longer charm but harder in that after 30 min I am OOM w/ no eay to regain. Flowing thought items do work but they are hard to come by.

yah necro.. bummer that its a combant proc, but its got 10int, 40hp, 40mana. as far as casters with claws... u havent seen a necromancer wielding the hand of the reaper then. mmm.. and to think you are also getting the 8th shawl in this ordeal. yup.. cant wait to get bustin at the shawls

I run a ranger, and I would love to have a set of these claws...but in general..these are cool.

1. Cause the dmg delay isnt bad

2. Some nice stats...ya ya..why does a ranger need int?..but 10 dex is way cool, and i could allways use cha for faction changes.

3. The proc looks like would be really cool for a melee permarooted in HoT..or fighting other magic creatures a lot.

4. I have never seen casters with claws..now that would be cool for the casters.

Unfortunately, CHA has nothing to do with faction. It only makes a difference in the cost of vendor items.

it means that when you hit something you get your normal damage plus 11.
as far as i know it only applies to melees, and the bonus is a sliding scale according to your level, levels 28 and above

This would be great for fearkiting as a ranger. While it runs, you beat on it until you proc, then get all your mana back from fearing. 10 mana a fear! That means 12 fears. Seems like a VERY beneficial spell to me

Melee casters?

From what I can tell, the only casters that gain the best advantage of this are necro, mage, and chanter seeing as they have a pet.

Recommended level of 51 = Casters sit back and watch pet do the work or get waxed so fast trying to get this to proc that it's effect becomes worthless. The rare times that a caster with a pet would even concider hitting a critter are not consistant. As with anyone fighting with pet there, the critter picks the person over the pet 90% of the time as primary target.

For stats, all classes listed could use it. For proc, only the melee listed gain.

The 10 int and cha plus 40 mana make this a sweet item for an enchanter and the idea of running around with claws just makes me snicker for my enchanter...

Ok Let me put to rest all You Melee no loads. I am 56 Necro and these rock, won roll tonight !

10 Int=Mana = Necro woohoo
40 Mana = Necro woohoo
40 Hp=Mana = Necro woohoo
Mana Tap = Necro woohoo

I usually dont make a pet or worry about gettin hit when on a guild raid so these only help and I can tank with the best of them. Normal mobs lol More than some tanks Dexterity w/ Lifetap = Life ! With my 10 K DOT stack and Wandering Mind proc, Warriors & SKs eat your hearts out I have the aggro !

u forget one thing about casters and pet man NECROS FEAR KITE .. what u mean mob picks pc over pet lol >>> mob picks nothing when its feared .. so useless for caster i think not..

A reason for casters to melee:

Wandering Mind
1: Regeneration for 120 Mana in 20 ticks and adds it to yours

Allowable Targets: Drain
Beneficial: Detrimental
Spell Duration: 20 ticks (2.0 minutes)
Duration Formula: 3

Spell cast on you: You forget what you were supposed to be.....
Spell cast on someone: An orc centurion stares off into space.
Spell fades: You remember where you are.
