How much impact does this have as a light source?

Ok so this weapon is melee but it has a Range attack of 40?? How does this work? Or does that just mean you can sacrifce it to throw it at your target from 40 what ever distance 40 means, away?
I'm guessing Ogre's are supposed to bring up Blunt Weapons to eh? I guess I should start that too. Judging by the fact they have this and the war hammer..?

It's put in the ranged slot to add to your STR and act as a lightsoruce.
