Thank you for your post. After spending an hour in Blightfield Mores, I read your post and you are correct. Not even five minutes being at 4214.40, -1060.42, 38.51 in South Desert of Ro... I got it!
YES! confirmed. On the west shore of the lake around Spectre Island of South Ro, is a cropping of 11 an orc warrior and an orc priest with respawn time of around 20 seconds. By the time I loot the 11 kills, they have respawned. Got 2 Raw-Hide Gorgets in a matter of 10 minutes
Tried Crushbone and Commonlands both before reading this post and got nada. Went to this spot and immediately started raking in raw-hide of all types, including gorgets. This still seems to be the good spot as far as I can tell.
Same results here, after Clearing Every Gnoll in Blighfire Moor a dozen times and nothing, went to Southern Desert of Ro and got three in a matter of minutes.

I just had similar results, thank you for this tip!
Killed Orc An Orc Warrior in South Ro today.. they re-spawn within 20 seconds.. simply sent pet out to mass kill the re-pop. The orcs spawn on the west side of the specter tower, along the shoreline.. can't miss them.. Took about 25-50 kills to drop 1 gorget.
After 4 days of 3 to 4 hours a day I never seen one there you got lucky. I spent 3 days in Common Lands and moved on to Blightfire Moors and after 8 hours, nothing. The drop rate is ultra rare now if it drops at all.

Yeah with the amount of different types of armor that can drop getting this one particular piece can be tricky/time consuming. I'd suggest trying the undead spire in North Ro as those all respawn very quickly so should be easier to farm rather than hunting down individual legionnaires in Crushbone.
After slaughtering mucktail caves/camps several times in Blightfire, i decided to try S Ro and advice from previous post the beach around the lake. The spot is great to kill orcs cause they spawn very quickly the only problem is after an hour the gorget hadn't dropped. So i moved lil west to the ruin and nuked anything that moved via closest npc target button, dropped from a dry bones skelly. I am not sure if they changed who drops it, if its that rare, or the skelly had killed an orc and looted his bags.
It used to be a fairly common drop from Mucktails in BFM, but it seems to not drop from them anymore. After about 50 kills, none dropped. The drop rate certainly changed, if they drop it at all anymore.

I believe it's a random drop off any mob within a certain level range.
Can confirm. In about 10 minutes of killing orcs west of specter island on the beach, I got 3 gorgets to drop. This after chasing guard cheslin around picking up his crap for about 4 hours . . .
It's posts like these that make reading posts worthwhile. Yes, the orcs along the shore of the oasis are a raw-hide producing machine. I got like 100+ pieces in about an hour; several of the pieces were gorgets.
Yes! Exactly! Oasis of Marr - now South Ro - orcs on shore surrounding specter island. The quarter of the coast from due west of the island to due north has 11 orcs that respawn in about 30-35 seconds! I killed 550 just doing these 11 over and over, some times breaking it up by grabbing extras orcs or other mobs. 10 raw-hide gorgets! Not bad work for half an hour!
I do this at bard speed playing a melody of 1 AE song for agro with a low level tank merc set on Aggressive to do the dirty work and beat the restart of the cycle. You can whack-an-orc yourself or if you are a pet class then F8 + /pet attack is easy also (my SK's preferred method for gray cons).
Bring alts / guidies / whomever for orcish Skill / Special Slayer achievements.

I just spent nearly 4 hours in South Ro and was able to get everything EXCEPT gorget to drop. I finally went to The MAGLO website and looked up the drop rate on these and saw that the highest droprate was 33% on ghouls in neriak third gate and thought what the hell I'm a high elf cleric worshipping Tunare I couldn't possibly make the dark elves hate me even more so I ran to the SK guild in neriak third gate and killed as many ghoils as I could find...dropped on my sixth kill...
i just ran around and killed all the orcs and within the hour i have gotten 3 gorgets

Killed hundreds of mucktails and not one raw-hide drop the whole time. Pretty sure their loot table has been changed and they no longer drop raw-hide items.
Went to the west side of the lake in South Ro killing orcs on beach and and raw-hide drops left and right.
Really? I cant get raw-hide gorget to drop to save my life. Been killing SRO orcs for a half hour. Lake orcs seem to instaspawn almost but still no luck.

^^^^thank you so much. this saved me from spending another hour in Blightfire Moors. i got it to drop in 10 minutes once in South Ro. Orcs spawn like madmen. Yay tailoring trophy complete
It does drop but I do think the rate was chopped to next to nothing.
Killed mucktails and my toon went from 20 to 28 and not a single piece of raw-hide armor dropped.
Went to South Ro and hunted anything humanoid I could for 4 hours and one came off of a dervish, Then spent 3 hours just west of the lake constantly killing orcs. I've had 5+ of every piece of raw-hide armor except the gorget.
I spent close to 14 hours camping this and only had one drop. This is a drop rate that is even better than some highly sought after items, heck, the guise of the hunter was easier to farm than this!
has this item been removed I have spent 4+ hours tonight looking for it tried crushbone , mistmoore , blightfire , and highold and nothing heck I killed so many mucktails I got banestrike just seems a little off - edit over 500 gnoll kills no raw-hide gorget seen getting fustrated
I zoned into the moors and headed straight south. I made 6 kills and got 3 gorgets. I needed one for the tailoring quest and thought I would waste hours on it. I hope your luck is as good as mine.
After trying to get this in a few different spots, South Ro definitely seems to be the best place to farm this and any raw-hide drops. There is a specific camp of orcs that drop raw-hide about 50% of the time.
If you go to the northern part of the zone and along the western side of the lake, there are about 10-15 orc spawns. Kill those until you get what you want. They respawn in 15-20 seconds, and it only took me about 10 minutes of killing until I had the gorget (along with all the other raw-hide armor pieces).
