Turns out you have to get the venom sac from those damn dune spiders in North Ro. >.> Fuuuuuuuuu-
If you have other purposes for them, you'll have better luck farming this in the Commonlands; I found mine at 149.69, 385.01, 121.36 on a giant spider; I also saw a spider at the small tower guarded by two skeletons and another at the plagued huts.
Or you might just want to buy them from the Cleric/Paladin spell merchant in Crescent Reach... he/she was selling about 10 when I got there to dump my vender trash.

Are you sure about that? There's only one item with this name. Usually when there's a special "quest" version, it will have a separate entry in the Zam database. Looking at the quest instructions (bare, though they are) it seems you do have to kill five of the dune spiders in addition to turning in the sac. So perhaps you missed that step? However, it is possible, I suppose. Some of the Crescent Reach quests only credit loots once you have accepted the quest (so my preliminary hoarding of spider eggs was for naught). But I figured I would check. Cheers.

if you are after these for the desert armor quest, you're better off getting one from gfay spiders. trust me!

Also drops off "a dune tarantula" in North Ro, levels 10-13.
Hack and slash is fine for trolls and ogres but the rest of us should use the best weapon we were given...our BRAIN.

As I've grown older in the days and finally had my chance to raid - this old epic finally was finished after 70 years... err... levels.
This really drops off a "A large spider" not a "a giant spider..." (This is referring to EC not anywhere else though.)
Well I retake that back, it does... however not as quickly.

Got 4 of these in 35 mins while farming Spider Silks in East Karana. Go to the hill in the north east side of zone, just above the camp/farm. I was pulling Crag Spiders from the hill (was getting 3 to 7 silks each kill too).
Beware the wandering and Named Hill Giants as you wont see them coming over the hill.

Yes they drop off the wooly spiders in everfrost. I have looted several of them. A fairly rare drop, but they are out there. I got mine off of large and giant wooly spiders. Never seen one drop off the spiderlings or the Gigi spiders.

I was also told this by several chars who claimed to have got their sac from these - BUT (see post below/lower down) I tried to get a drop from them (in between getting ganged up on by 'passing' snow leopards and orcs) and only got ichor, silks and occasional 'barbarian meat' - so must be at least as rare a drop as in W. Karana - I eventually got mine from WK via my ranger char and the lovely 'shared bank' spaces provided - in my mind therefore the question of if Wooly spids in EF drop venom sacs is still unresolved til someone definitively posts here to say that's where they got theirs

they drop off them... i got lucky and got it to drop in one kill. peeps were also spaming occ every 5 damn minutes trying to sell them for like 1pp (ok yes thats not a lot but if you are doing newbie armor odds are you dont have 1 pp to begin with. started a new char on a new server so had zippo in the bank)
I have looted several of these in Field of Bone off of the spider-looking mobs.

for the breastplate (last piece I have to do) - prob is that Western Karana 'Giant Spiders' it seems to be a rare drop ... lots of egg sacks but no blinking venom....not around in any of the shops either. Add to that the fact I have no map for this area and bandits abound (at least at night) and I'm gettting a mite frustated! Doesn't list them here but I'm hoping if I kill enuff large wooly spiders in everfrost MAYBE they also drop.... *sigh* I suspect the gigantic wooly spiders may have em but I need quite a few more levels b4 I try taking them on
I don't know of any quests for these, but they are used to make low-level rogue poisons. I believe they trivial in the high teens for the Make Poison skill.
