THE STATS ON THESE HAVE BEEN CHANGED!!!!
I have two Desecrated Spiked Wristbands on my bard. But they are AC 10 with some minor stat and resist buffs. Not AC 12 like shown above. Recommended level is 30 not 50. I found them on a vendor in PoTranq for 26pp each. Pretty nice for a 38 bard.

I found some idiot selling this in the bazaar for literally 8pp 5gp - you bet your *** I bought it but it doesnt give full AC until closer to (if not) recommended level

Could this be an instance of someone taking a screenshot with a character below the recomended level? I havn't personally seen an item for which I am below the recomended level (Other than Thurg Gate potion, but that dosn't have stats, and there is no logical reason why it got a tag of recomended 60); There aren't exactly many items with a recommended level of 59 or 60.

If your AGI is below 75 you get an AC PENALTY. Over 75 AGI has a very small impact on AC. And no it's not nearly enough of an impact to make up the 11 AC difference. There is a clear reason why most tank gear has AC and not AGI usually.
Banded and FP bracers are better than serpentine to a tank. I would take this in a heartbeat as an Iksar Shadowknight, 12 ac is serious stuff for chain wearers.
I'm a 59 wartroll and still using Guardian Bracers. I've been looking for some good AC bracers for a long time and these are sweet. I'm gonna try and get me a pair of these.
Crafted Bracers, 10 AC, 2 Dex/Int. Crustacean Shell Bracer, 9 AC, 5 Str, 4 Sta. 2 extremley easy to get bracers, less AC, but stats. Incolite Bracers, 12 AC, 3 Str/Dex, 7 SvM/SvF/SvC. Not as easy to get, but obtainable none the less. I'll leave out the thurg quest stuff, which you could probably do pretty easily at 59. Just a thought.

And how does dex (or ded as you so eloquently call it) have bearing on AC? Maybe I should've been reading those manual updates that get added with the patches. I'm not saying this is a GOOD bracer for 50+. I'm just saying you don't know what you're talking about. But that never stopped anyone else from posting here...

If your Agi is around 70 then 9 agi does make up for 11 AC. I can prove this on my 24 pally. But once the AGI is buffed closer to 90 it does not beat the AC.
HOWEVER - at the recommended level you had better have all of your prime 4 stats above or close to 100 and the AC will win.

I think the point they're trying to make here is it's a 12 AC Bracer, with no other stats, no other use beyond the AC, that can't be equipped until 50th level. That's rather ridiculous in my opinion.
Recommended lvls on items do not mean you can't equip them, it just means that the stats on the item will not be at maximum untill that lvl is attained. Example: under lvl 50 the ac will not be the full 12ac, it will be tappered depending on your current lvl. Also the proc on the weapon or item will not work untill that lvl is reached as well.

I normally try to defend the items posted when people bash them, that someone somewhere would have a use for it, but unless this is for a quest, its beyond sad.

12 AC for a bracer? I'd love that for either my warrior or shadowknight. Beyond sad? What's beyond said is people who think "he with the best stuff wins." Okay, you may be able to get a better bracer at that point, but are you telling me someone's going to have the best, or near-best, item in every slot at 50?

There are basically two types of EQ players, those who equip well, and those who level fast and their equipment falls behind. I knew a pally who had several items of bronze armor still at lvl 49. I also know a shadowknight that had a blackened alloy bracer at lvl 46. I have grouped with both, and they were fine group members. Sure, I'd like to see everyone in my groups equipped in "uber" armor, but it just doesn't happen that way every time. One of the first times I grouped in KC, a pair of Jarsath legs dropped. They were better than what I was wearing, so I got them. A lot of folks in KC call it "jartrash" but 15ac 5wis pants are pretty good as far as I am concerned. Turns out the ranger in my group was wearing them too.
My point is this: yes, there are uber equipped people out there, and those who can wear this could easily get better armor, if they were willing to hunt hill giants for cash, and buy it, or hang around the Kunark dwarf zone until someone let them loot frosted velium. However, it might take days to get the pieces they want. This is not a bad item, and for many, even at level 50, it would be an upgrade.
True for those in strong guilds, this isn't all that great, but for those in small guilds, or unguilded, this might be pretty decent at 50.

The thing that strikes me as lame about this bracer is that the quest seems to be geared more towards a couple level 30-40ish groups (in fact, if I recall correctly, Danarin's dialog actually says something to this effect). All the NPCs at level 50+ are green. What's the deal with designing a quest for level 30-40ish characters, then slapping on a recommended level of 50 for all the rewards? That's just TERRIBLE design. Might as well start putting drops in Guk with a recommended level of 60. Also, if you try to do this quest on the Firiona Vie server, you're going to get smacked by Trivial Loot Code (this is what happened to my "small guild" when we attempted one of these Grimling Forest battle/raids).
You're right though that this can be an upgrade to some level 50+ characters, though there's a lot better stuff out there that a level 50+ character can get their hands on if they can only muster a solid level 50-55ish group. Bracelets of Fortitude, Charisma, Comprehension, Sense and moktor bracers in Umbral Plains are all better than these. So is the Bracer of Defense in the Scarlet Desert. Silver Chitin Wristband in Velk's are too. There's some better smithed stuff out there too... I bought Enchanted Full Plate Bracers (electrum) for 250pp the other day on my server and they have the same AC plus some stats, though it does have some race restrictions. Acrylia plate is even better. All this stuff is far from being uber and ought to be obtainable by most level 50 characters who have a few like-level friends.
This is just a product of a poorly designed quest, in my opinion. It would be fine if they dropped the recommended level of the items down to 30 or 35.
