Did camp 9 about 6 times recently.
No mana regen items.
Used pfunkmans tip and it works good.
You only need to slay the original 10 mobs in
camp to get named to spawn. You do not need
to slay any of the mobs that come running to
the camp.

The captain will take you without camps 1 to 6 being done. He took us to 8, then 7, then 9.

Where it drops
# Dec 13 2003 at 5:30 PM Rating: Decent
Confirmed tonight that it drops from Camp 9 (nine) - one of Captain Necin's quests. It took two 65 beastlords to successfully control this camp - not because killing the mobs is difficult, but because you need to stop the Traitor from being killed. This can only be done by aggroing all the attackers *immediately*. Also, sometimes you will fail, regardless... ie when the Traitor gets feared and runs through the camp to his doom.

We successfully killed the named 3 times.
1st time.... minor items.
2nd time.... Carved Bark Mask (went to my wizzy alt)
3rd time.... Acrylia Staff (also to alt) + EB ring.

For FT1 items, it seems they are surprisingly common drops.

Grimling raids
# Sep 09 2003 at 1:32 PM Rating: Good
This item dropped for us in the revamped version of grimling forest on camp 9 (Captain Necin takes you there)

Basically you enter one of the houses in the vah shir outpost, locate General Staginar and ask him:

WHAT CAMPS?

or

WHICH CAMPS?

he will then display a list of camps that the grimlings have taken control of. The camps that are open for raiding will be displayed in red text whilst the camps that have already been completed will be displayed in green text

Look for Camp nine (9) and ask Captain Necin to take you there.

Be sure to read the text as you will need the little [code words] to activate the various parts.

Camp 9 requires you to rescue and make sure Traitor Gelg survives. IF you fail you can initiate the raid again as soon as Captain Necin has returned to the Vah Shir Outpost...

Good luck :) there are 9 camps total, the 10th will open up once all 9 are complete... :)

This mask is farmable by a higher level player.
In 3 hours I had 3 masks dropped, 4 Acrylia Inlaid Staffs, 2 Living Shadow Gauntlets, 3 Living Shadow Bracers, 2 Ornate Totems and few more pieces I forgot. (last hour I was joined by guildmate druid, who looted staffs with caster alts)

Here is what I did: I positioned warder near camp and went to Captain Nacin to initiate the quest. Got back to the camp and got "ready to fight".
5-6 grimlings jump onto the Trator when quest is triggered, so I stepped in and hit once each one, so they'd attack me instead of Traitor. In under 2 minutes all 6 were shredded to pieces by my warder and the Traitor. Then I pull 5 remaining static grimlings from the tents and in couple of minutes when they are dead camp respawns with Named. I pull named away from Traitor (to avoid NPC KS) and my warder splits it in half in under a minute. Then I train grimlings onto the Trator and let her die, so quest immediately resets. Rinse, Repeat. 4-5 Named per hour.

When the druid joined with her Damage Shield and regeneration, quest went even faster.

Captain Nacin can lead to 1 of 3 quests. Only "Second Camp" named drops this mask, so I completed other 2 quests prior to the farmins, so Captain gave me correct quest over and over again.

If this item is a result of this quest, then the grimling officer drops it when he spawns (which will happen after many waves of grimlings.) There is some concern though that this item is not from the quest listed above (Danarin - the 3rd raid quest in grimling) but in fact from the 5th quest.

It's part of the quest kind of hard to kill all of them and loot at the same time lol

Good to see the same old posts here of, 'This is a Cleric/Monk/Beastlord/Paladin/Rogue item...' Followed by the same old arguments of why 'it *isnt* a Cleric/Monk/Beastlord/Paladin/Rogue item' followed by the same old 'My dad's bigger than yours' followed by the same old post saying that this post is full of the same old posts of...

its funny how everyone wants to claim it saying others dont need it...if you use mana, then mana regen is good...im a cleric and I know what its like to be always in need of mana, altho the hybrids that need to stand all the time and fight would benifit from this because they dont have time to med while there are pulls Inc. I say if you help and it would be used, you have a chance to win it...everyone needs to stop being so damn greedy, its a game, have fun.

correct one of the very few items that is available for all clsses and usuable for most classes. I can even imagine a warrior using it for enhancing tradeskills. But as for most items if you use it, it's for that class no matter what benefits other classes would get from it. Though where for some classes it's just good for a few lvls some items can be for more importance to other classes or for a longer period of time. Well this itme is no drop quest-item anyway so there are less beggars for it and there is no use in saying you should give/sell it to a specific class. :-)
Hmm Stupid class discussion strikes again

Hmm Wis and Int good for any class that uses those attributes primarily. Flowing Thought I good for any class that has mana and actually uses it. Take no offense any bards that may be out there.

I believe Bard's are considered Intelligent using class for Mana point calculation purposes. Also if I remember correctly only AAXP skills and Flowing Thought items will increase the mana regeneration rate for Bard's. So for a soloing Bard who burns mana with their Mesmerization and Charm songs this would be a nice item. Personally I would rather use a Flayed Barbarian Hide Mask instead but for soloing I wouldn't mind this item.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 02 2002 at 2:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is not a monk item. It is for a SK, pally, or Ranger.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 10 2002 at 5:55 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well I half agree with you. Its not a monk item lol. But For my pally I don't think I would want to lose the stats I got on my face slot just for a lil bit more mana, even though mana is great, stuns, pally only buffs, ect or when I'm main healer and yes it happens. But I would rather see a cleric, shaman, or druid get it first personally, since the other main casters have more options for FT items.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 02 2002 at 4:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Any guild worth its salt would more than likely hand this to an up and coming cleric if they are a lower leveled guild. If matched with another FTI item they are getting close to running around with perma breeze on all the time. That would be alot more beneficial to a cleric/chanter/shaman than a Sk/Pally/Ranger by far...
#REDACTED, Posted: May 02 2002 at 4:43 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have to agree my main is a 39 ranger and even when I'm oom which doesn't happen that often any healers or casters I'm with take a ton more time to med up to full. I think I'd take my antlered mask over this any day. Just my 2cp.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 02 2002 at 4:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why wouldn't another caster want this item? I'd love to have this on my druid or necro or wizzy (esp the int casters). FT I is not much, but anything helps...
#REDACTED, Posted: May 02 2002 at 11:12 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) *monk* item? They don't need flowing thought. lol
#REDACTED, Posted: May 02 2002 at 5:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Eh, not to bad for a guy around lvl 50.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 02 2002 at 10:07 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) you're an idiot for even starting that you stupid jackass, now edit it out so it doesn't become a huge "monks' suck" fest
