If Sonic wolves have taken hold of zone slay Gnarlick in the tent near Shar Vahl to have Owlbear's back in zone.
As of 7/28/04, with a Cha of 75, vendor paid 1p, 4g, 2s, 9c for this.

These feathers are also used for the Val Shir Bard quest, Hymnist Gawfed wants 7 of these and the Cloak of the Jharin Recruit combined in the bag he gave you so he can upgrade your cloak to the next level. I have not done this part yet, but I plan on trying to get it done soon.
My 19 Bard has been camping the Owlbears in Paludal for a long time, about three days now, but not one feather has dropped. Useful pieces of Simple Defiant armour but no feathers. Where is the most likely place to find these?

I looted this item from Yelloweyes, the named owlbear in Paludal Caverns, but I don't know what it is for. The vendors will pay pp for this, so I know it isn't totally junk. If anyone knows, please let me know.

Only thing I know the feathers are good for is for making Owlbear Feather Darts with the fletching skill. You get the tool for making the darts via a Vah Shir only progressive fletching quest. Nice stats on the dart, but the tool is no drop and some of the items to make them and the previous darts in the series are uncommon or rare. You can find the quest at EQTraders.com under the quests section.
