If you hand the bridle in to Wendal Amondson he will give you the money back for an unwanted horse.
You just hand him the bridle and he will give you a Bag of Platinum. You can then sell the Bag of Platinum to any store. Haven't tried to see if you can get better prices at different vendors, but that may be a good way to get more for the horse.

I handed in the bridle today but it was to Galic Amondson not Wendal. Does it matter what type you have because I turned in the white chain bridle.

What's the price on these bridles?
Click on the stable hand's name above and it lists his prices for the bridles he carries. Can go to Bazaar, then beastiary, then click on the stable hand and look at prices.
