in the time it took me to get enough hq ore to make my human cultural armor and get my smithing up to 220, i might as well have lvled up and joined a planes raid.
it is very very time consuming and tedious and requires decent fishing and brewing.
you shouldnt belittle it, respect the time and effort required to make these items just as much as the time an energy required to loot a nodrop par item in a plane.
but yes, it will probably end up on a wealthy lvl 10 much more often than a poorer lvl 40
i think this item and similar upgrades to smithing are to encourage the tradeskill aspect of the game, notice its not nodrop or diety specific? smiths can actually start to make decent money again! some people get as much satisfaction from being a successful tradesman as others do from exp'ing alone. this aspect of eq needed spicing up.

Have to agree this is a nice item. It is just to bad that player crafted items are nearing/besting the stats of planes gear. Guess the twinks will love it. 8^)

Do you have any idea of what it takes to be able to make that? The literally 1000s of plat and hours spent on meaningless tasks for products no one will buy, the hours spent hunting animals and spiderlings for the padding, chasing all over Antonica to get the ingredients for the temper, just to be able to produce that one item? Frankly high end cultural smithing should be BETTER then planar, just by the amount of time and effort that goes into it's production, and the subesquent rarity. Lots of folks have planar--how many do you see wearing this?
Well, I certainly hope that if Verant makes a change, they simply increase the stats of the Planar armor rather than reduce the stats of the smithed items. I am really pleased to see that folks who spend the incredible amount of time and money to get their skills up will be rewarded with a market for their items.
Actually this has been around since cultural armor was first introduced in August 2000 I think.
The removal of the jacinth requirement, made it actually possible to make these, and the introduction of HQ ore merchents made it a lot easier, which is why screenshots of a lot of the human cultural are appearing now.
