i got this GM reply after petitioning to get this item back after clicking it and subsequently losing it back in may 2009:
"This is GM Casrid. Thank you for contacting Sony Online Entertainment. I went ahead and checked on it and it appears that the effect of that weapon and the weapon itself hasn't been viable or implemented since February of 2008. As a result, when using the weapon if automatically removed itself from your inventory. Sorry for the inconvenience."

I just got the gloves/hammer today. First time I clicked to trasmute them they POOFED and a red text message appeared saying, "Duplicate Lore items not allowed." That's it and they were GONE GONE GONE! Not in inventory, not on the ground. GONE! I petitioned. I'm not happy. I hope I get them back.

Still dropping off the Overking. Obtained a pair on Nov 2005 -- was a fun shock to see them, I remember the days when clerics would fight over them because they were the best gauntlets in the game.

That doesn't seem cheap for this. I miss the good ol' days and can respect how this was once great, but, now, I can't even use it as a pet weapon, since I don't know of any Cleric-class pets. Just transmute it to gloves and give it to some noob.. the AC's pretty nice still. Make his day.

Droped about 60k in the casino and won these...my wife has droped over 150k and still hasnt got a golden ticket. so I guess I did pretty good. Seems the going rate for them on sol ro server is about 50-75k . I guess I can get my money back...I wanted the horse or the beads but wanted to know if this was one of the better items to win from a golden ticket. I though Id win something my class could use ,but apparently not cause paladins cant use these :(

Sorry if this is a stupid question...But what does it mean by expendable? I just want it for the Gauntlets..So if I got this item I would turn it into the gauntlets...Does this item ever dissapear? Or with expendable does it mean that once you turn it into Gauntlets you cant switch back? If so then kewl cause I just want the Gauntlets anyways...well good hunting and safe journey to you all
"Expendable" means that once all the charges are used up, the item disappears, like a potion.
The Hammer is expendable and has one charge that summons the gloves. The gloves are also expendable and have one charge that summons the hammer. That is how they make this a morph item (for those old time smaug players). You can morph it back and forth as often as you like.
We just got one last night on Lany's by the way.

I have these gloves and they do transform back and forth from the gauntlets to the hammer, as many times as you want. I use them both ways, but of course, the gauntlets are used most of the time. Really the best stats of any gloves I've ever seen. I don't expect ever to want any others.

According to the text on the gloves they can be turned back and forth at will.. my assumption is that that is what Expendible means, sounds a little daunting though :).

I don't know about a Vibrating Hammer...but for those female clerics your talking about, well it seems to me that the Gauntlets this Hammer transmutes into would be more...ummm....user friendly :-)

I wonder if this thing completes a 2 part set with Ye Auld Ball Peen Hammer?
I was thinking the same thing....you must be able to do so...as the stats are expendable, but always transform.
