Thanks to Purrfection and Wreinie for helping me to get this sword:) I am a 37 SK and I am way not uber at all. This sword actually dropped two times for us tonite. I was hoping for this sword as well as the BP/Legs of the Living Shadow (those didnt drop however the Desecrated gloves and legs did, both very nice for me as well imo) Will have to say the raids are a lil funky imo, here is the reason why and maybe this information will help others who are trying to get this gear from this zone from the quests.

Do NOT buy the stones, arghh, I did and the guys wont take them now to start the quests. These raids have changed. Hail the guys that you want to lead you to the raid (there looks to be 9 of them now) the one person who starts this will need to make sure they follow thru from start to finish on the talking to the NPC. Hail <> Aid us <> Ready to go... those were the catch phrases. When the actual raid starts after you follow the NPC to the camp (his choice of camp) you let him know that you are <Ready> and he will say something to the effect of all charge. One of the camps was seriously bugged and for all of you out there that like to cheat then here is a great way to PL your toon up. Dont expect it to last though since I already petitioned about it. But as soon as one of the mobs went down it respawned right away. We did the one camp that did this at least 20 times:( But, I really wanted to see the next wave and to kill the main mob in there that we needed to so we could see the loot that dropped. hehe, we had a ton of fun though:)

Well, hope this information helps all of yall out there. Take care and God Bless:)

July 25th 2003? Im on Quellious and I was cheking into the changes SOny made to Grimling forest. Theres Diff mobs at those camps now.

So are you saying that the quest will still*in time* Produce the Desecrated 2hder? Plz lemme know, I dun wanna go waste my cash on that stone and Hrs of a crew's time in GF for nothing, Been there did that for 5 hrs. And we all know of course the GMs wun help with info.

Thx.

Just did the Copper medal of War quest and this dropped off of one of the officers (I forget his name) in camp 6. It figures that I am a Beast Lord and the only one in the zone so it rotted. /sigh

Bah, In PoN I aggro kite solo, there I carry a MoSS and imbued froglock shield, not for hitting mob but for the int increasement. My DoT's and pet is my weapon when aggro kiting. Having this sword with my Earring of the solstice means I'll suddenly have 2 extra a tick regen on top of KEI or deathly temp, or lich. To complain about any extra kiting mana seems a bit silly to me.
not crappy

does anyone notice that but me? sure, i'd keep it as a downtime reducer, but for the difficulty involved it should be better than a dark reaver or sword of xalgoz...

The Flowing Thought is nice and the graphic is cool...too bad the ratio is garbage or it might be able to be used as a weapon instead of downtime reducer....all you SK's out there, just get a Soulbinder or Deathbringers Rod.

It doesn't seem like much, but when I got this sword I noticed a signifigant boost in my meditation rate. Being the one who submitted it, I have to admit that I only use it to med between fear kites or when I need to burn a bit of mana on lifetaps. This sword combined with Deathly temptation while sitting and meditating decreased down time tremendously at level 58.

When done medding I just swap it out with Innoruuk's Curse or Greenmist. Only takes a second.

Unless you're in an "uber guild" you're chances of seeing many FT items that are SK only are slim. Take what you can get when you get it.

it weren't No Drop...

It would certainly sell well to SKs in their 30's.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 19 2002 at 5:08 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I PERSONALLY PLAYING A 54 SK WOULD OWN THIS ONLY FOR THE EFFECT WHILE MEDDING..AS FOR ITS USEFULLNESS I CANNOT SEE IT..DAMAGE VERSUS DELAY IS JUST NOT WORTH THE TIME..YOU CAN GET SAME EASIER WITH OTHER WEPS WITH BETTER EFFECTS..THIS IS JUST A TOY FOR THE ADDED MANA REGEN ON DOWNTIME AND MAYBE FOR LOOKS
Only for medding, but that's cool

Let me start off saying that my main is an SK so I am all for having more SK items out there. Now that the disclaimer is out of the way, I just don't like this item. Or rather I think that it's a waste to put FT on a melee weapon. I mean weapons are probably the one item that people upgrade the most throughout their career.

That said, the ratio and it's resulting damage output is going to be too low to be a good weapon. But I would still love to have it. Why? I'd just grasp it in my scaley hands while I am medding up. It's pretty light, so I'd have no quibbles with carrying it around in a backpack all the time. Anything to make mana regen after a couple fear kiting runs is a good thing. Sign me up for the war.
wow - very kool looking sword.

The Flowing thought and INT on this does pretty good in making up for the relatively slow delay.

Ok - next question is about the quest. Anyone have any pointers or comments on the quest?

The grimling camp raids start out simple. Protect the scout while he (and your raiding party) overrun a grimling camp.

As they progress, they get harder and the mobs are tougher. 1st raid mobs are MAYBE level 25... but so is the scout. Just be sure you have the sense to keep mobs from getting to him and you'll be fine.

The mobs start turning light blue during the 4th raid where you have to protect 2 guys at the same time. We failed at this part 2 times cause we only took about 18 people. The Grimling Officer during the 4th raid drops this sword.

The only mobs that drop loot during the raids are the officers. It can take up to an hour and a half before the officer spawns though. Keep that scout alive and eventually he'll pop.

The 5th raid everything was light blue to me at 58 and a portion were light blue to 60.

The 6th and final raid is comparable to the ringwar in GD in difficulty due to having to protect 3 scouts at the same time from multiple mobs that are light/dark blue at 60 and will often harm touch the scouts.

Good luck.

i dont feel the slow delay is the problem on this - 42 isnt terible for a 2hs. it's just the teeny weeny itsy bitsy dmg.
