Can it be used more then once? Example of the one charge item: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=2384 Vibrating Hammer of Infuse

It's 1 charge and done. I'm 99% sure it WONT disappear after that charge tho. I don't know why anyone would use this as it's a collectors item; but I understand what you're trying to say.

about this item
# Apr 03 2006 at 4:30 PM Rating: Decent
this item definittly doesn t dropp anymore . It used to worth a LOT of pp when , back in the days , the only entrance to PoM was by ToV ... cause u could bind urself in PoM , but u could not be bounded there by someone else ...so casters where happy but melles were not , cause nobody could bind them there and the only way for them to get bounded here used to use a locket of escape.
for pple who still wonder why there were pple whishing to be bounded there , the reason is PoM was a place where only hight level well skilled pple were runing around , simply because it was HARDCORE to enter and only the best of the best guilds could make there way there. It was kinda the elite of everquest hanging around in PoM , quests there were awesome , exp too and once u were there u didn t need to get out really , except being ported by someone else for a raid, but u could always find a way to gate back once bounded there.
now the item is very rare and it costs a lot only because it doesn t dropp anymore ...
still a "must have " for a collection

Yo , I understand this item is removed , but just outa curiosity what was the mob that once did drop this item and what zone , or what was it that you had to do to get one back in the day when they were in the game still? I'd appriciate it =)

This thing still drop? and off what?
RE: still drop
# Aug 10 2004 at 5:42 PM Rating: Decent
Unfortunately this item no longer drops.

The reason this item used to be so expensive is Plane of Mischief, IMO. Non-casting classes couldnt be bound there by binding classes and since this was a hard place to get to in the Velious Era, people would gladly pay the plat to get bound there.
???

It says, Combat right? doesnt that mean it is a Proc? If so, why would anyone want this. Your fighting a losing battle, and it procs. you die and repop right where you died, and the guy can still beat on you. If it is a proc, then this item is pointless.
RE: ???
# Dec 06 2003 at 10:06 PM Rating: Default
yes...it would suck in that capacity. avoid using it on tough fights, i guess. but, say, if you want to bind somewhere...freeport if only allowed in cities..or the overthere if allowed anywhere...then just attack weak creatures, hopefully get a proc, and tada, your bound. only use i see if in fact you can use it this way
RE: ???
# Dec 06 2003 at 10:09 PM Rating: Default
oh wow, didn't see it only had 1 charge. yeah...uber crap. explain all you want...uber crap.
RE: ???
# Dec 15 2003 at 9:45 AM Rating: Decent
how could this be a proc if you cant put it in any slot?
RE: ???
# Jan 06 2004 at 5:49 PM Rating: Decent
This item can only be worn in the neck slot. It is not a proc, but a right click effect with a two second cast time. Also, it must be worn to use the effect.

Stuff like POP makes a lot of those nearly useless... what I dont see is a darn thing about WHERE they can bind... any city? or like anywhere period? which rangers..... outdoors people... should be able to anyways.

Don't forget plane of mischief! Bards can make the run there but can't bind themselves without this or getting lucky and finding a caster in zone.

here is my question why would someone wanna be bound in plane of mistchief am i missing something?
RE: where?
# Jul 22 2003 at 9:56 AM Rating: Decent
Why don't you look up some of the quests in PoM. I think that will answer your question as to why anyone would want to be bound there.
RE: where?
# Jun 05 2003 at 6:48 PM Rating: Decent
The reason the locket is so "cool" is this;

Ant character class that does not get the spell "Bind Affinity" can only be bound in cities and a few ket locations (the docks in ice clad for instance). That includes "outdoor types", and all 'melee' classes.

The key here is there is now in game several methods including shaman made gate potions to "gate" yourself to your bind point.

i.e. Binding with a locket allows you to use the new gate methods to gate to a set location at will.

No more is the tank left to fight his way out of a bad raid. No more does a tank have to worry about how to get back to his fav. hunting spot.

Is it worth 100k? Prolly not. Not much in this game is worth that unless you really in the top 1% of the characters on a server and have pp to burn.

Is it a good item though, absolutely.
Vendor sells it back for 22k
# Sep 04 2002 at 4:05 PM Rating: Decent
the price used to be much lower but it was nerfed and it now sells it back for 22k with the recharge trick.
So basically each Bind costs 44k

On Xegony...140k???
# Sep 02 2002 at 9:31 PM Rating: Default
Ok....I play two characters that can bind themselves, and one melee that can not. Yes, it is nice to be able to bind yourself almost anywhere. But of all the uber equipment available for melee.....I can sure think of something better to spend 140k on than this piece of crap. They could make it unlimited charges and it would never be worth more than 10k'ish to any melee I ever play....and then I would think twice about it.
Vendor Recharge?
# Jul 03 2002 at 11:52 AM Rating: Decent
Are you still able to recharge these by selling
them to a vendor and buying them back?
RE: Vendor Recharge?
# Jul 03 2002 at 11:57 AM Rating: Decent
Found the old message that told how to recharge
item. Anyone have a clue how much a vendor
would sell this item for???

"This is how u recharge items first you need 2 or more items 1 without the charges 1 with charges. first sell the item WITH the charges to a vendor (make sure the vendor doesnt have alot of player sold crap on them) then sell the item WITHOUT the charges to the vendor if u have more than 1 item without charges then u can sell them too. Then buy them back. All will have charges. I have confirmed this with 2 chipped bone wands (3 charges of locate corpse) I used the charges on one sold the two to a vendor (one with charges first) then the one without. Bought them back and both had charges. This method works well with the Holgresh mojo sticks, Ivander's Hoop, or whatever.

Go ahead and flame me. Show the world how stupid you are.

Brambleton the wolfefied druid."

2 players coordinate the selling and buying back. 1 sells the fully charged, the other sells the empty one and then both people buy back their items. NPC's aren't limited to the lore restriction.

Rechargable, and they are worthe well over 100k on fennin ro, my guildmate is paying 200k for one... i cant beleive you guys wasted it by binding outsie of KC and OS....my character is camped in Plane of Mischief(probably the best zone in the game) i would bind there
RE: Locket
# Nov 11 2001 at 6:38 PM Rating: Default
Why the hell would you pay for this? Sure thats great you can bind yourself almost anywhere with it as a melee. BFD
The most convenient place for melees to bind is in a city so they have access to merchants and banks. Sure being bound at PoM would be great (except I'm sure ya can't anyway, as you can't bind in ToV, and I really doubt you can bind in POM itself either), but the freaking novelty would wear off after about five minutes.
Total gimpness to pay large sums of pp for this, or trade a fungi tunic or whatever. Gotta be one of the more idiotic things I've read.
RE: Locket
# Sep 23 2002 at 7:39 AM Rating: Decent
Old post, I know.
Yes you CAn bind in PoM! And yes, this thing IS worth 200k. I would rather bind my warrior in PoM than have him have to run thru NToV each time! Espectialy now with the rewmap of the zone and I belive quests have been added for all classes.
RE: Locket
# May 23 2002 at 11:57 AM Rating: Default
Well, you 'could' bind a melee at the firepot chamber in TD with
one of those...and thats imho the most coolest thing ever ;)
RE: Locket
# Nov 11 2001 at 10:49 PM Rating: Decent
As far as I know the locket was the only way to bind melees in PoM. This used to be rechargeable by selling to a vendor then buying it back but thats probably been nerfed as well.
Yeah I have 2

RE: LoE

You can no longer bind at the firepots in TD. Not even casters can bind there.
RE: LoE

RE: removed

Why?!? they also took out the ring with one charge of Gate. WTF is verant smoking? They were rare drops that were hard to get that allowed you to bind anyone anywhere and gate back ONCE if and ONLY if you did both camps required to get them both... They would be awesome in raids... the ability to bind your tanks just out side the zone so if they die they don't have to run all the way back. Verant has to be smoking something, or they just want to make the game a little harder, leaving these in would NOT have unbalanced the game.
OMG
# Feb 16 2001 at 11:41 AM Rating: Default
are you telling me that a warrior can use this and essentially bind his clinky but anywhere he chooses?
